That would be a really cool addition the retreat cost is for sure one of the worst parts but I’d say if you’re careful with the way you set up your Pokemon you can play around Sabrina a good amount of the time and also realize when it’s time to start developing another threat

Yup the rhy evo line is probably the worst in the game next to gyarados and that's simply because misty works on gyarados 50% of the time while also having more damage and hp

It's good if you can build it up in time. I have it in a deck with a bunch of single energy attackers/retreats (mienshao, marowak, dugtrio) so I can get plenty of extra energy

@@zacziggarot no it's still bad. Golem gets brock, onix gets brock. The next similar card, gyarados, works with misty and its attack has an effect of energy removal, yet gyarados is still bad. That means rhydon is also bad

It depends, If they are holding an evolution in hand it is better

@@Edujs23 It's still not card advantage, it's hand manipulation: Red Card doesn't give card advantage until you shuffle 5+ cards with it, when there's 4 it's a 1 for 1.

If they are a tempo deck like misty or pikachu then it is highly advantageous to slow them down so you can get more value before they start snowballing. So while technically not "card advantage" there is a huge amount of situations where it easily gives you some sought of advantage

Not sure the exact spot you are referencing so feel free to let me know. But a common spot you keep oaks in hand is because if they red card you, you want to be able to find your draw still. And for not playing gengar since I run two different types a lot of times I would keep one in hand to keep my options open until I needed to commit

Yeah we get you can flip heads and dodge potion and play perfect curve to 2 tap mewtwo but the math foes not suggest that happens often

I mean mewtwo is for sure a far better card but I mewtwo is better than most cards in the game lol. Also I think that gengar plays way different and offers a different and imo more fun gameplan than mewtwo.

@fainthdgaming yes that's true but for competitive it falls off with almost all other ex Pokemons But still if someone enjoys Gengar no problem that's what matters what we enjoy and have fun

So on average yes it’s less damage but what I’m saying is that when it hits it gets you to more impactful thresholds and actually helps you convert kills, like gastly into haunter would now deal 70 if you hit or 80 with giovanni which kills way more of the cast than 50-60 damage, but trust I hear what you’re saying and appreciate you sharing your outlook

30 dmg good for poke, 50 potential dmg good for quick kills to snowball the game from there. Saying it’s worse because it’s average 25 dmg is the wrong approach. I was killing multiple staryus with the new haunter and they attached already 1 energy. Those were games I would have lost with the normal haunter because my hand was actually bricked
