Removing A Dangerous Tree

We hired Don Burts Tree Service to take down a tree that is dangerously close to our house. Literally right up against the back of the house and so tall it towers over the second story. It's been threatening to fall and cut our house in two, but, now it's finally gone.

It's time to plant seeds and get ready for a Spring garden. Now that we are within that 6 to 8 weeks time frame before our last frost it's time to get seeds started for whatever we will want up and leafed out when it's finally planting season. Without the greenhouse, that means improvisation. Plus, some quail eggs in the incubator.

Story Time for my grandchildren; Love You Forever

I started a new project to read books to my grandchildren who are so far away or haven't been born yet. The first book is Love You Forever by Robert Munsch. My daughter Myleigh created her own version using family pictures and gave it to me for Christmas. So, it's very fitting that this be the version I start the series with.

Why are there 2 dogs in with the chickens or turkeys or what ever they are
They are great pyrenees. It's their breeding to protect a flock.

It was mostly theirs. That was one of the bonuses. We could sell most of our bigger furniture and not have to deal with moving it.
America ìs so huge it must have been like moving to another country, im in england so used to living in a small country

Thank you I was looking for help with this problem. I have a this reoccurring mammoth brought home by my teenage grand sons when they were in the first grade.
I'm so glad this was helpful. There is just so much to know about gardening, I don't think anyone really knows everything. What I have learned I like to share and I truly appreciate the knowledge and advice I get from others.
I have heard that keeping stronger willed chickens with easy going breeds results in the stronger willed breeds bullying the more docile breeds. Has this been your experience?
It can be. Not all chickens are true to breed, so, just knowing what to expect is helpful, but, I have had a lot of breeds of chickens that were supposed to be one way but were very much the other. Some of my most affectionate chickens were supposed to be flighty, and some of the bullies were supposed to be docile. Still, it's a good general rule of thumb to try to avoid problems whenever you can. There is a pecking order in all flocks. Even in the same breed flocks somebody has to be the top chicken and somebody has to be at the bottom. Once they get it sorted out, I watch for any signs of a bully chicken. Removing the problem child from the flock for a few days can fix their attitude problem because it takes them out of the pecking order. It isn't always going to work, but, sometimes it does.

So I have flowers growing off the main stem where your picking off the suckers is this normal
Oh yes, it's normal. but it will take energy from the main stem. Some gardeners like to leave them natural, some prefer to send that energy to the main flower to make it grow to maximum size.

In Poland, we now have to register even one piece of poultry. So farmers are getting rid of their hens, and soon we will have to buy eggs only from commercial corporations 🤗🇵🇱

what variety is this many branched sunflower? would you get more seeds from the multibranches or more if grew more single stemmed sunflowers next to each other? what are the roots like of this multi stem variety? thanks alot :)
It's been a few years but I think it was a lemon queen. It only grows in a multi stem variety. The single stem type grow large heads with quite a few more seeds. The roots of sunflowers also vary. The multi stems seem to have a shallower system. The single stem giants have roots that drive pretty deep.

don't we want more stems to creste more flowers ?
Only if you don't want the main stem to produce the largest sunflower possible. It's similar to tomatoes. Some varieties naturally produce many flowers and that is what you want. The giant sunflowers, like indeterminant tomato plants, need to be pruned of excess growth to send the greatest amount of energy to the main stem for maximum production. Sadly, that does mean only one sunflower per plant, but, the sucker sunflowers will never be as big as the main stem sunflower, and you won't get as many mature seeds as you otherwise would have.

You really only get paid for making videos if you have a pretty large following. I don't get paid. I just make the videos because I enjoy it.

I agree. We went into the process knowing this is how it's done in China. That didn't make this easier, by far, but, we were prepared to have it happen this way. I wish we could have taken things much slower, had time to get to know her on her territory. But, that was not an option. China is very strict on the process, so, we did the best we could to help her transition.
Thats traumatic when their older leaving everything they know amd going with complete strangers. Think of her mental health
