Ian Curtis, a legend, learned his dance moves from another legend, Iggy Pop!
🖤
❤
Hooky with Yamaha BB800
A window of time we came see in, but they can't see back. I can see why joy division was so appealing. Rawness, power, and charisma. I've paid my respects and did a cover of decades th-cam.com/video/zcYWdzk29so/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Mx3x0YZn43Lg9dGS have a listen
Thanks for sharing this...great sound too.... .so many great memories of seeing this band in Manchester on their way up....
Bless everyone who ever documented Joy Division, thru photos, film, recordings. So precious ❤️
❤

@@Dejay06 ♥️
I have the bootleg album of this concert... Most precious album I own
Merci... RIP Ian...
Awesome!
Thank you
To be honest bernard looks like ian
Awesome
Duidelijk de invloed van Michaël Rother die later met Klaus Dinger (die hier de drums bespeelde) NEU! oprichtte. De tweede track is een later Neu!-nummer. Ralf Hutter was er hier even niet bij dacht ik voor een paar maand.
Wow. Just… woah. Simply one of the heaviest concerts of all time. “Day of the Lords” 🤘🏽 Long live j div. Thank you for remaster. #goat
Bloody fab.
got this in green vinyl limited edition 500 pressed only
🖤🇧🇷
Watching this, especially Autosuggestion, and I'm struck by how like Jim Morrison Ian was ... arguably not intentionally, but the same shamanic quality. It's amazing
F’ing hell … Leaders of Men! Mind blowing.
You’ve done a fantastic job on this - subbed in a heartbeat
I was 13 when I listened them for the first time in 1988. Everything changed in my life after that...
You are watching the greatest band to have walked the earth.
True!
one of.
To see one of the greatest musical forces representing Tragedy or Tragic Art, when there is so little footage of them , is a pleasure surpassed only by celestial sexual intercourse and the state of being in acute Love, and as in my culture the latter is so rare that the proportion of the former is both thematically and absolutely sky-rocketed all the further accordingly. Bravo Mr Hyphen, which I conclude is a stage name given your supreme talent at hyphenating these videos to audio so perfectly. We Joy Division fans are a despairing lot and Im not kidding when I say the joy of this footage likely prevented or undid a couple suicides...
Amazing. I have this recording on bootleg vinyl from years ago. That version of Autosuggestion is incredible. With the odd exception, I have always preferred the raw power of the live recordings to the studio versions.
My favorite performance of Digital. JD were so much better listening to live than on the albums.
I love Digital - imagine the rush being there
You gotta admire Martin Hannets production though he made the music sound like it came from the future.
Anthropologists, Musicologists, and those just born to eternal libertinage, nihilism, or kulturkampf in 100 years will thank you. This is what all those wanting to know what culture mattered as the world began to ignite will treasure for generations, every girl ostracized by her friends for being too wild, every boy instantly rejected for being too honest, this was and is their music. 1980-2080, et al. " SAY YOU TRI----ED. SAYYYYY YOU "
A good recording crew
Widely considered the most horrifying art known to man.
Ian was smart enough to realize he was in perhaps in the best band in the world between 1978-1980.
wut?
Joy división the BEST group un the world ❤❤❤
1:41 Vom Himmel Hoch 27:37 Ruckstoss Gondliere 37:38? Heavy Metal Kids 46:00 Ruckzuck

Take it to heart, unfortunately
No one like Ian has ever conveyed the inner suffering, the pain of living. a sound that has been digging inside for 45 years.💔
Electrifies my aching nerves. Heart drunk in joyless silence ................................ Flows through my veins again and again. Soul to be unplugged.
Hands down the best version of auto suggestion. Should have been released like this would’ve been a post punk classic.
Got to see them in Leeds in 1979. They were fantastic and I was memorised as a 15 year old kid. Strikes me now that they add the space of reggae/dub with the sparkiness of the new wave movement at the time (Banshees, Cure, Slits) but with a William Burroughs darkness that hasn't been repeated.
'Unmaster' it
I'm so gratefull, thanks for your job. Back at the 80s, most of us did not go to Joy Division concerts. Ian Curtis performing is so fantastic!!!
Can you imagine being there ?? My head would've exploded
the venues had to be darkened bc of ian’s epilepsy
A lot of Joy Division's best songs were where Hook and Sumner swapped guitar and bass. God, I just remembered the video recording of this from the 1980s - it was pretty much inaudible...
Best recording of Shadowplay ever. The footage is just incredible.
all love
HONDO II
You have to wonder where Ian was at this point :(
Joy Division is on top form here.
wow i would die for him and he’s dead
