    Hi, I wonder if a weed wiper would work good for crops like Lupins, or other specialty crops with limited in crop spray options PS - really enjoy the videos. They are awesome 😎

      Hi, that could be a good idea! Since we only had a small field, and all the weeds were taller than the Lupins. I would be curious to test one out! Thanks for the suggestion, and I’m glad you enjoy them! I really appreciate the compliment !

    How well did seeding canola with a Brillion seeder work|?

    • @Soupaloop16
      @Soupaloop16 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It did a pretty decent job actually! We were seeding it pretty heavy as we wanted to make sure we filled in those gaps so the weeds wouldn’t take over, and it did just that! I’m not sure if we got much yield from it but definitely better than the alternative! Hopefully I touch on it in a future video. If we had to do an entire field I might not be singing the same tune! Thanks for the comment!

    I'm interested in how that batch dryer works for you guys. What kind of capacity with various grains and moistures. thanks

    • @Soupaloop16
      @Soupaloop16 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It works great, holds about 400 bushels, so not ideal if you have lots of grain to dry. The year before I started was a super wet fall and Randy was drying grain for 3-4 months straight! It currently needs a bearing so hasn’t done any drying lately.

    What's the yield

    • @Soupaloop16
      @Soupaloop16 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yield was around 50 bushels/acre…kind of our average.

  • @jb-vz4wb

    Another great video. What is the reason to disc low spots? Does it level the field, dry it out for seeding next year? Is it a low spot that collects water, or a rut from a tractor or sprayer? Thanks

    • @Soupaloop16
      @Soupaloop16 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks so much! And you’re pretty bang on with everything you said there… some of these low spots were created 4-5 years ago when we had record rainfall…last year it was a very dry summer/fall so we were able to work up some areas that hadn’t been since that rain, in hopes of being able to seed it the following spring. There are also ruts left, usually from the sprayer, that can be quite massive as Jeff likes to drive straight through everything! And we’ve also had our share of issues with the new seed drill we used in the spring! There were a couple strips that didn’t get seeded which resulted in solid patches of weeds for entire lengths of the field. Had to disc those up too!

    You guys should get a vinyl mat, with two wood towels on the ends for your grading room. Maybe your local elevator uses these if you want to see what I mean. You can use it like a funnel to put the grain back into the bucket when you are done. It makes things fast and cuts down on the mess

    • @Soupaloop16
      @Soupaloop16 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I can certainly picture in my head what you mean! Something I’ll have to look into, thanks for watching!

    Do you pre cut canola, put it in windrows then harvest it?

    • @Soupaloop16
      @Soupaloop16 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, that is the way we do the majority of the canola. We did have a couple fields that we didn’t pre cut and just went right in with the combine and thrashed it. My latest video actually shows that in fact! Thanks for the question, hope that answers it!

    Only 12.5L in the lexion 760 seriously well good work! Why not buy a new lexion just like claas lexion 8800TT with 15.0L inside the grain tank and size of header 12 Meters? It's just a question for you but i'm glad fir you got harbest this year 🙃

    • @Soupaloop16
      @Soupaloop16 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would love to buy a new Lexion! They’re beautiful but maybe a few years down the road! This 760 was great but only a demo for us…5-6 years old and still a half million dollar price tag $$! Pockets aren’t deep enough! Also I am a year behind so this is 2022 footage, still a few weeks away from harvest this year! Appreciate the comment though, thank you!

    Good video. Why do you swath and use that type of head vs. A cutter head? I'm not a farmer just curious

    • @Soupaloop16
      @Soupaloop16 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! We swath some fields to finish the crop so it starts drying down, or we might want to save that field for seed, some we swath just because of their location and it’s harder to get a combine with the 35 foot straight cut header into the field. Timing and location are big factors for us, it’s also sometimes just a decision between Jeff and Randy on what the better option is.

    What’d you guys spray on the hemp?

    • @Soupaloop16
      @Soupaloop16 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow, sorry I didn’t see this, I’m new to the tube! We sprayed the hemp with roundup. It was actually kind of a test that the hemp farmers wanted to try. It was their last field that year so they wanted to see if it would help the hemp dry down faster. It did not help.
