Painting Miniatures as I practice my hobby. Trying to upload a couple times a month
Painting Sword and Shield - Monster Hunter World Board Game
The last model in the Ancient Forest core set, the S&S hunter in Rathalos Armor rounds out the box set. This model was a lot of fun to paint even with it's simple color scheme. After this piece, I'll be working on a personal project which might take a while, but when I return, I'll be looking to get back to my DMC models

Painting Bow - Monster Hunter World Board Game

The third hunter in the core box, the Tobi Kadachi armored hunter using the bow. A bit of a smaller model compared to the first two hunters, we do our best to add detail in our limited surface area. Just one game piece left and we'll have finished the ancient forest core set! 🎵 Song: 'Sappheiros - Embrace' is under a creative commons license license. th-cam.com/channels/xLKyBhC6igFhLEb0gxvQNg.h...

The Second Hunter in the Ancient Forest core set. The Anjanath armor provided an interesting design that will surely pop on the tabletop. He probably would have looked better with the helmet visor closed but we do what we can with what we got. Painting Greatsword - Monster Hunter World Board Game
มุมมอง 1.4Kปีที่แล้ว
The first hunter of the Ancient Forest core box, the Greatsword hunter wearing the appropriate Great Jagras armor. My recordings came out with less quality than intended but it will be an issue I can fix for my next video. I personally do not care for the Steamforged humanoid models, something about their proportions or details makes it difficult for me to work with and I had a similar issue wi...
Painting Rathalos - Monster Hunter World Board Game
มุมมอง 3.2Kปีที่แล้ว
The final and largest monster from the Ancient Forest Core box, the Rathalos is truly the king of the sky. This model required the most time and effort to get to a standard I was satisfied with. I had some hiccups along the way but nothing I couldn't sort out. Next up is the hunters that come with this set Music By INOSSI Support INOSSI: soundcloud.com/inossi inossimusic instagram.c...
Painting Tobi Kadachi - Monster Hunter World Board Game
มุมมอง 2.7Kปีที่แล้ว
Third painted in the Ancient Forest core set, the serpentine Tobi Kadachi has a simple but fun color pallet using mostly variations of blue, I break down the steps I took to make this little electric dude worthy of the tabletop. Next up is the fearsome Rathalos, which will come with it's own set of challenges to prepare the model due to it's size and complexity Music By INOSSI Support INOSSI: s...

Second of the MHW Ancient forest core set. Looking a bit like a furry T-Rex, this brute wyvern was a fun project to work on, even if my editing was broken up by long sessions of the new Zelda game. The first of the MHW Core set, Great Jagras has a simple but fun color scheme that is malleable and can be easily changed to fit your tabletop A bit of a return to form, my first video in over a year, I want to get back into the habit of trying to upload regularly, but maybe a little less frequently Music By INOSSI Support INOSSI: soundcloud.com/inossi inossimusic inos...
Painting SDT Dante - DMC Bloody Palace Board Game

The last of the Devil Trigger expansion models, Sin Devil Trigger Dante is a fairly large model, taking up 3 of the game's hexes and with an impressive wingspan. Painting Nightmare - DMC Bloody Palace Board Game
มุมมอง 2773 ปีที่แล้ว
Nightmare, V's massive golem of a familiar is next up to be painted. This weighty model is part of the Devil Trigger Expansion for Devil May Cry's Bloody Palace board game! Nightmare was fairly fun for me to paint and with all of the texture on it made for easy, good looking dry brushing. I didn't use any wash for this model, but if you want a more oily or grungy look, feel free to! I considere...
Painting Devil Trigger Trish - DMC Bloody Palace Board Game
มุมมอง 4103 ปีที่แล้ว
The second devil hunter with their DT active is Trish! With her devil trigger active, Trish wields the devil arm, Sparda to devastating effect. For this model, you're safe with just reviewing the previous Trish video as it will tell you all of the same info but in better detail. I made this video shorter as to not reiterate all of the information again. I believe this is my least favorite out o...
Painting Devil Trigger Nero - DMC Bloody Palace Board Game
มุมมอง 4633 ปีที่แล้ว
I'm back after a hiatus to bring you the first of the Devil Trigger Expansion Set models, DT Nero. The Silver Bullet can now use his Devil Trigger to tear through foes with even more style. I had some technical issues with recording this one with some clips having dramatically reduced resolution or lighting not picking up properly but I intend to have that fixed before next video! Painting Dante - DMC Bloody Palace Board Game
มุมมอง 8313 ปีที่แล้ว
The fourth and final devil hunter of the core set, Dante is last but not least in my paint series. The star of Devil May Cry tears up the board with style switching and his array of devil arms. I was somewhat surprised that he was the shortest of the videos I put together but ultimately there isn't a lot to him and I did skip out on highlighting his skin and pants. I'll probably have a bit of a...
Painting V and Shadow - DMC Bloody Palace Board Game
มุมมอง 4663 ปีที่แล้ว
The third devil hunter in the Devil May Cry core set, V and his familiars take on demons in the Bloody Palace. I think the model came out okay, free hand isn't a specialty of mine but I go for it with the tattoos. With V and Shadow done, there's only one model left! Yo lad I love your painting videos they helped me so much when getting use to painting minis thanks lad. Will you do more at all? I’m very interested in seeing more of the devil may cry bloody palace minis
how much difference would white primer make? My stores always out of grey
Sorry for the late reply, your base coat will be lighter for the first few coats, this isn't a bad thing as everyone approaches the process differently and you can reach similar results no problem. White primer is also best if you intend to use contrast or speed paints
I'm both anxious and excited to paint my hunters. My hands shake so we'll see how it goes.
pls more paint ❤
Glad i found your channel, great work!
yo homie, it's been a while. are you on IG? i'd love to follow you there.
Finally getting around to painting my Anja; using this as a guide ^_^ Thank you!
Thanks to this video i was able to do a paint job I'm proud of. Thank you. Can't wait to see your other videos ^_^
Really great job, I can’t wait to paint mine!
i also have gotten into painting due to the board game. The hunters are definitely tough to paint, and you can see where some corners were cut in processing, but i still love them. Keep up the good work with the videos!
Thank ya! Currently working on a personal project, but I plan on being back as late as January
Seriously, a ton of thanks, I had been waiting for a Rathalos video tutorial for a long time. You don't know how much you have helped me, I am very indecisive and it is always difficult for me to decide how to paint some miniatures. I will continue watching your channel very closely
It's appreciated! Working on a large personal project, but looking forward to returning to work here!
I recently painted this guy for a friend of mine. The model was 99% intact, but the end spike on one of the wings was gone entirely... The wings fit about the same way as yours initially did, but we decided to leave it cause they want to be able to put it back in its box when not playing. This one was a challenge to paint for sure. I'd say an airbrush would do you wonders for that time consuming basecoat (if that's a possibility for you). Your paint job on this guy looks great! Keep up the good work :D
An airbrush would totally help! Unfortunately my setup doesn't have the space to accommodate one, but I very much appreciate it the feedback!
Awesome work. I got into mini painting because of the MH World board game, your videos have helped me a lot with picking out colors
I'm glad! Welcome to the hobby! I hope your models turn out excellently!
I could never make the bow work, something about that weapons always felt off to me. Amazing painting as always!
Thank ya kindly!
Lovin the chill vibe you got going
cool video bro! enjoyed it big time.
I'm really enjoying this series. Thanks for all the effort to film and share your journey.
Thank you for taking time out of your day to watch!
keep up the good work!
I just had a quick look through all your videos and I'm really enjoying your paintwork! I like how you keep the methods simple while still getting what I'd call a game-accurate result. Can't wait to get my MHW set in!
I don't know if I've explicitly said it anywhere before, but this is my goal, quick and easy work that looks similar to the game. Thanks for commenting and best of luck with your models too!
i love the nostalgia i got hit with looking at the final reveal of the model, making my great Jagras gear in game! i think if i were to stick my nose into what i would love to see come from your painting style is to think of a mini like it has an internal skeleton or wire frame in the direct center of each of the models parts. what is closest to the wire frame should get painted first, and all the bits sitting on top of each other should be painted in order of distance from the wire frame of a model. really helps to stop any overlap from accidentally sticking a brush into a recess, and hitting an already painted surface!
Your layers came out beautiful!! That strong tone at the end was such a satisfying watch, seeing the scales age as they were being coated. I had no idea there were Monster Hunter minis out there! This was so cool, dude <3
I appreciate it! The board game is just okay to me, but the monsters is where it shines
Love the way this model turned out! As said before, very soothing to watch, and I believe that's a necessity for painting videos.
Much appreciated! I find the hobby very relaxing and am glad others do too!
Very soothing. I'm glad I got to watch this during my layover in Chicago. Keep up the great work!
Thank ya! Safe journey!
Looks great, tho could you please use a different background music in the future? cuz man this is annoying!
Sure thing, I can see what I can dig up. Mostly just me being lazy
100% agree that you can make your own patterns because trying to follow the exact art is more work than it'll be worth in the long run IMO. My plan is to get the colors close, get the pattern close and put it on the board and enjoy it rather than going crazy over small details.
True enough! At this point I'm just worried about that sucker staying on his base!
As soon as the wash started dripping down the arm I panicked for you but glad you recovered. I feel your pain with the light box as these models go from manageable to outright disrespectful in the amount of space they need to go a full 360... and I love it. Good stuff and looking forward to more.
Really nice job. Helped me a lot. I really enjoy the cadence of your videos
I'm glad! I try not to linger on any one part since folks can always pause and go back if they want to see a particular detail again
great job! Yes, I would love to see the hunter paint job too.
Any thoughts of using this model for a Golden Rahalos?
You're thinking of the Golden Rathian, but the boardgame doesn't have any rules or stats for any Rathian or her variations. The core game does have rules for Azure Rathalos and the Iceborne expansion seemingly has rules for a Silver Rathalos
@@sirriverDM they did announce a gold rathian for wave 2 of the iceborne models i believe 2 days ago it was
@@Godzillakuj94 thanks for the info! They've announced so many new monsters for the game its hard to keep track!
Hey dude I'm enjoying these mhw videos!
Looks great! Completely begginer here. I am using your videos to help me paint my minis! I've done Jagrass so far and it came out good (I think). Would be interested in seeing how you do the hunters for sure, as I don't know how to approach something so small!
Glad you're finding my videos useful! I'll see if I can't get working on those hunters ASAP. Best of luck painting
please do more for other models in mhw board game. I need inspiration on how to paint these models.
Just started working on Rathalos, will hopefully have the video out next week
These videos are great thank you, really helpful inspiration for my own first dip into painting with MHWBG
I wish you the best of luck!
I find the work you have painting these figures very incredible. Make a video about DT Vergil.
When I'm finished with this MHW box, I'll return to do the rest of DMC
wow how and where do you go to buy the board game
Steamforged games! It was a kickstarter, can't say when they'll be on shelves
There is the reptile squirrel lad we all love
It looks really cool, I can't wait to see your next model!
What did you do for that two Tone effect in between it's legs and arms? The upper part is darker than the bottom part and I don't think you went over that. Was it the dark stone paint you used?
Yes! It was something I had neglected to record but thats exactly it. It was fairly thinned down if I recall correctly
@@sirriverDM Sweet! I'll try to do the same as well. You paint great models, and I'm trying to copy your techniques while sort of ad libing it myself along the way.
@TheElite711 thank you! I hope it turns out well, my work isn't the be all, end all, so feel free to pick and choose what steps you like from it to apply to your own works
@Sir River For sure! I'm still starting out with painting, and since these monsters have a specific look and coloring to them, I'm trying to be as exact as I can. Doesn't help I'm a little colorblind too, so your 2 MH guides have helped me find some good colors.
You deserve more subs bro. Crazy how people paint such small figures. Must be pretty difficult for starters ❤
It's appreciated! I feel it's a fairly easy hobby to get into, lots of beginner guides and supplies available at most LGS and online.
excited to see the Tobi Kadachi it's one of my fave monsters from the game!
Very goog job, i wait the new monsters with patience
Finished the Tobi this morning, now to find time to put the footage together!
nice paint job bro! ill definitely watch more of the MHW videos
For the bottom half of the face, did you thin the beige color to milk consistency? And did you do it with water or a thinner? I have the same paints as you by the by.
For the bottom half of the face it was closer to water, if I recall. I tried to have it be a glaze using water. I do not use mediums or thinners outside of water, but that's purely a preference
@Sir River Much appreciated! I used water for that anyways. I already applied a wash, but might need to get some extra paint in spots I missed at.
@@TheElite711 I wish you best of luck
Im painting these Modells for a friend and Im pretty interested in the Tobi Kadichi! really like ur version of this monster
It's appreciated! I hope your painting goes well!
my nightmare when i first started MHW looks so beautiful!
Awesome! Can't wait to see more! Keep 'em coming!
Finally the return of good content
Always happy too see another video from you
Beautifully done!!
I want to see more videos like this one!
