I find Beyonce repetitive and fairly generic. Plus I find her voice and singing style, irritating. Janet, who I've actually been listening to a lot recently, whilst being more 'contemporary', compared to the greats (Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, Shirley Bassey, Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin, etc), has a legacy rooted in those greats, Soul and Motown, and as a part of the Jacksons and being from an era where people wrote songs that made statements, where from what I've heard from Beyonce, she makes generic pop songs.

Janet is the Blue Print. and has been in the game many decades longer than Beyonce. Janet's biggest challenge was getting out of her brother, MJs shadow and she did. No one else compares to Janet. Janet rose to the top amongst the best of the best. Michael, Prince, Madonna, Whitney, Mariah all the great. Beyonce is a non factor and Janet's style is totally different. Lets celebrate the two and their talent and accomplishments and stop the comparisons. Again, these women are nothing alike.
