Original lift with semi-automatic swing door at Scarborough hotel
Found this classic recently while staying in Scarborough for a night. Logo says something like "PLtd". Semi automatic swing door type, original buttons etc.

Not extremely exciting, but some original features remain in this one. Only 2 speeds as well, with quite abrupt stopping on each floor.
Ascensores Lifts at Majorca hotel (including an untouched ORIGINAL)
มุมมอง 3079 ปีที่แล้ว
I recently had a two week holiday in Majorca with the family. The hotel we stayed in includes some interesting (yet basic) lifts that were manufactured by a Spanish lift company called "Ascensores". The public lifts have been updated with new buttons, but there is one ORIGINAL left alone but can only be accessed when cleaning staff are on duty to clean hotel rooms. I had the chance to get a sho...

Old Kone lift at Boyes shop (but slightly modernised)
มุมมอง 7K10 ปีที่แล้ว
This is the Kone lift I visited back in 2010 when it was in it's original form. Sadly, the buttons have been replaced with the boring black ones. :( The rest however is the same. (No annoying automated voice, LEDs, mirrors etc.) I remember my mum taking me in this lift when I was a little boy (1987-88). There is also an old escalator (according to KoneliftmanUK, it's a Thyssen) in the shop as w...
Old Lift Vids (Ow3n86) (Part 3/3)
มุมมอง 70510 ปีที่แล้ว
A collection of old lift videos I filmed between 2008-2011, when I had an account called Ow3n86. Some of these lifts (particularly the old ones) have been modernised since, so there's no point going back to video them in 2014 or onwards. This is part 3.

What episode

still exist?
Probably, as it's a private building / offices. If you really want to know where it is, it's on Mosley Street.
@@ow3nc Been to the building, it isn't open anymore however I have seen workers go in and out of the building rarely, the lights go on and off aswell however it is never unlocked
The absolute worst times is when both lifts are down and you know you have to walk up to the 26th floor to the M/R to get the thing running.
Still am impressed that they were able to record this show involving the real equipment. This would never be possible nowadays. Makes it so realistic though. It really is a good bit of television.
Poor John must be redone for him since he was under the motor a long time ago
The 🏂
The first-ever lift shout was so funny
It's a bit like Bella stuck in the lift in Series 4 Home from Rome
You can tell it's the early series just by the uniforms haha. Miss the old Yellow trousers honestly
Though the yellow trousers looked very nice but they had to replace it after the King Cross Fire since they fire brigade complained that it melted.
@@thesomething2235 Oh yes, and the sopping wet wool tunic. Ever feel a kitchen towel when it's waterlogged? Now imagine your entire tunic feeling that heavy.
They look like Express
the make of the lift the two lads were surfing is express. you can tell by the shape of the call button
Person getting into lift in second clip; I thought was Leonard rositer for a minute. Any credits on the actors?
Actress who is playing the woman in the red jacket and being called a “ tart “ by the other actresses character, is Lorraine Ashbourne. Don’t know the other ones, but Lorraine has done a ton of stuff including Playing The Field, she is also married to Andy Serkis ( yep, she is Gollums wife ).
Is it true that some Spanish hotel have lifts with no interior doors and if so is this safe?
Wait that’s abandon?
Elevator surfing and entering a shaft IS COMPLETELY DANGEROUS, You MUST BE TRAINED IN ORDER TO OPERATE SAFELY, This INCIDENT HAPPEN IF THE COUNTERWEIGHTS HIT HIS HEAD!
try telling beno that. he is a arse hole and give s lift enthusiasts a bad name.
I’m 11, and I’m starting to be a teenager, I’m a child but I’m a old child.
11:29 Why is there a blur?
its remanisant to when bella got stuck in a lift in fireman sam
But that episode came out after the first one in this video...
Compare to fireman Sam and London burning.
The two lads at the end were unbelievably stupid
Is this still here? and ifit is can I have like an exact location please?
They used to have one of these type of lifts in Scarborough boyes serving floors LG, G and 1 buy they have replaced it with a normal automatic door lift by Morris vermaport
FAT SLAG !!!
most of the lifts in newcastle are ecodisc
The lifts the man got on at 7:23 seems to be a different lift than the two lads were surfing, as it looked like it had a single piece door, and the other has bi-parting doors, anyone notice that?
That is some damn detective work
What is?
It's a Pickerings it's easy to find out since that p was used in pickerings swing door lifts in the past, the ltd stands for limited and also pickerings liked to put carpet on the walls in their lifts
Lift surfing's not only dangerous, it's illegal as well.
you need to tell beno that. he gives lift enthusiasts a name
@@richardpearson58 There's nothing wrong with being a lift enthusiast, and riding in lifts, I was on about if you try to play Russian Roulette by gaining access to the shaft above and riding it as it moves up and down, this is a perfect example that misusing the lifts like that can cause death.... A lot of the lifts don't have shaft access from the car anymore because of people misusing the emergency panel above.
have the lifts been modernised ?
Yea.
lol
What building was the gated elevator/lift at 6:21 in?
It's known as the "Kirkham Building" on the university campus in Preston: www.google.co.uk/maps/@53.7634936,-2.7101752,3a,84.6y,292.95h,85.78t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1spOKU1yju1YlsEOCCuKg2Ng!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!6m1!1e1?hl=en Whether the lift (a classic Pickerings btw) is still there, I don't know. Last time I was there was 2008, when I was a student.
The clip at 7:54 shows the same lift that the light inside the car is flickering
OMG this is the one that I didn't get into the other week!!
They used to be Pickerings. When they were getting refurbished a few years ago, it did have a thyssenkrupp call button. They didn't bother refurbishing the middle lift.
Very unusual...
which store is this boyes at
+Cazkumali Billingham, Teesside
Nice to see mid bar picket gates , as these were not allowed after about 1975 and often replaced with multi leaf shutter gates as being more safer .
Pity you did not get a view up the shaft or the car and landing door frames and cills,
The building featured in this vid is Keeling House ,Claredale street Bethnal Green. Now refurbished as a highly sort after private executive apartments and listed grade 2 building .
+Keith Huddy That's interesting to know, thanks! I've always wondered where those tower blocks were in London. :)
One of the lifts were Marryat and Scott , you can tell by the rope equaliser in between the cross head on the car ,the rope anchorage being the "turks head" held in the cup type to reduce need for headroom.
Interested to hear it referred to as Turks Head. To be fair every part has been made up and adopted depending on where you work. We typically called it the Crown bar hitch, providing I am correctly thinking whether the part you are referring to. I do have to correct you though, none of the machines featured were actually full Marriyot Scott installs. These would be mainly Bennie and H+C (We call them Hot and Cold XD). They were typically the manufactures that Southwark used even when GLC were the commissioning authority.
Which wilko store were the goods and customer lifts filmed at
+Cazkumali It's the one at Friargate Street, Preston City Centre. Whether they're still there, I don't know, it's been years since I lived in Preston.
good vid I guess the rear doors are staff only and lead to the stock room loading bay

If them Bennie lifts are still there and unmodernized, I really want to find out.

+Ow3n Lifts hartlepool? and are you going to do more videos your videos are great
Hmmm, all looks a bit to generic to be able to identify a manufacturer.
The lanterns from the Liftcrans look almost identical, what do you think Matt?
Imagine being allowed to uncover that boarded up lift. Wonder from what year that lift is from. Nice gated lift, cool you went into the store to see the other end of it!
Well, the car park is of brutalist architecture which was common in the 1960s, so I guess the original lift was from that time. The place is almost derelict now due to new car parks been opened a few years ago, which would have lead to vandalism over time. Sunderland is still under redevelopment so it's been tricky to find some old lifts there. There is an old shopping mall which is connected to two tower blocks of flats, but there's a lot of security to access the flats from ABOVE the shopping mall. I would have loved to get in there and see if there's any old Express lifts in those flats. Yep, that gated Evans lift was a nice find. Notice the control buttons are supposed to be "secured" from that old rusty box.... Someone's obviously been pulling the screws out. :)
By the way, matt, do you know the actual brand name of those large rounded square buttons at 11:30 ? Those buttons have been used for lifts (as well as the old Northern Rail trains) for years! I remember one of the first lifts I used as a kid (in the late 80s) used those buttons. (the original lift at the Forum theatre in Billingham which was opened by the queen in the 60s)
they are probably square dewhurst
