July along the West Coast of Florida means Scalloping Season is in full swing. This was from my second trip in the Pasco Zone from my home ramp in Palm Harbor. If you can get in and out without the crowds, it can be very productive. This is from dawn on July 13, but the evening of July 11 was productive as well.

I titled this brief vignette from fishing with my son and his friend on Saturday morning (June 29) as, "Morning Blues". Friday, June 21 running Dawn Patrol along the Nature Coast in the Chassahowitzka NWR In Hernando County, Florida. The Snook were in the shallow water over rocks and I fished them out using surface running hard baits until late morning when the weather deteriorated.
May25 Mango Snapper Spearfishing Bayport Florida

Quick trip to the reefs off Bayport for some shallow water Mangrove Snapper. It was 95⁰F air temp and 85⁰F water temp so the choice of what to do that day was a pretty easy one. I am still a bit of a Spearfishing padawan, so I decided to focus on fishing and not filming while underwater just yet, but as I get better, I will add that in.

A Saturday April 20 visit to the Nature Coast out of Bayport, FL and North. I ran 20 Miles offshore in the early morning, followed by a few hours of inshore in the Chassahowitzka N.W.R.. The nearshore reefs were pretty slow with the biggest Snapper being 12" and a 23" Spanish Mack for the smoker. One of two vessel inspections that took place for me on Saturday April 20 in the Chassahowitzka N.W.R. I preferred this one. You should not approach them, but they often approach you. It is one of the best things about Sailing, Kayaking and trolling motor fishing in these wilderness areas. You get occasional visits from the real Floridians. Saturday April 20, 2024
