A channel about Adventures with Family, Friends, Camping, Fishing, Boating, Kayaking and, of course, Motorcycles.
My name is Bill DeWeese (bill.deweese) and this is my production channel. I'm a Florida native and an "outdoor cat" who has spent the better part of a lifetime traipsing all over Florida and exploring and lately I've set out to capture and share those Journeys, all that goes into the and all that is learned along the way.

Taking my Trout for a Walk
A short afterwork session in Dunedin, FL chasing some Trout. I also grabbed a 18-19" Trout afte this 21", but the sun had set fast and the footage is too dark to bother.
Nice to have our Florida weather back.

Jan 25. Day after the Cold Front from the "Artic Blast" and I fished Palm Harbor to chase some Redfish. Saw a few and caught some more Trout, but managed to get one Slot Redfish on the board for the January Mirrolure Mirrodine 14MR Flats Class Lure Challenge. Hopefully more on Sunday.

This is day one of the January lure challenge from Flats Class University for the Mirrolure Mirrodine 14MR. The challenge is to get the sum of the length of one Redfish and one Trout to be exactly 44.5". Leveraging the tide, weather conditions and location, I focused on the Trout in my back yard of Palm Harbor, FL. Good success in leveraging the Trout in pushing the necessary Redfish into numer...
Hitchhiker's Guide to Sheepshead Fish Chowder
มุมมอง 25614 วันที่ผ่านมา
I made a post with some really rich, velvety fish chowder made from a recent Sheepshead fishing trip. I got a lot more questions than I imagined so I put together a hitchhiker's guide. You'll need to decide if you want the spicy or you just want it rich and what spices you want to add, and frankly you can go in all kinds of directions. Of course this could be made with any kind of hearty fish. ...

มุมมอง 1552 หลายเดือนก่อน
It's the start of Fall in Florida and that means the start of cooler water temps, negative tides and the chance to sight fish Reds in the super skinny water. Jimmy Tintle and I went up into the Chassahowitzka N.W.R. on Sunday November 24th and it was the perfect day and he has the perfect boat with the 14' Pirahna Raso. The boat can handle the falling tide and water below 12" nicely and we foun...

Hi.. I like how you narrate, but you can cut down this video to maybe 15mins or less and make it more tolerable to watch by not repeating yourself like 2-3 times (there were a couple that you even mentioned the same thing 4x). Once is more than enough. Twice maybe for emphasis. But four times?! Man... Please, keep doing videos, but please make it more succinct...
You are a resourceful dude… that roll up measuring board! And the old skool Falcon rod, love it!
That's the best thing that company has made. That's the best measurement device for summertime Snook in the swash at the beach or wading.
14MR flexin in the sunset!
I have a bait just like that one. 👍🤣 enjoyed the video. 👍🇺🇸🙏
Awesome fish. Great sunset
If this one does get thousands of likes I will be surprised! 👍🇺🇸🙏
Great stuff Bill, love your stuff man! Hope you get leveled up on TH-cam my friend.
Appreciate that, I'm always trying to get better and improve.
that redfish inhaled that bait lol !
@@RedfishRob Yeah, she wasn't playing.
Totally smashed it!!
👍🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
fun stuff!
Thats it? No action no nothing???
It was more Trout, which I had included in my prior video. I did get a great 23" Trout that day but pushed it out as a short. The videos from last Saturday was playing with cameras, nothing extraordinary on fish. Will Hunt some Reds this weekend if they're not lockjaw from the cold temps. th-cam.com/users/shortsElNWBHZ-UHA
So sick
That’s awesome. Nobody around.
Sutherland Bayou bringing back memories
I'm all over the State when fishing, but it's my home. The Bayou Ramp is about a 8 min drive from my house. It's really a treat to fish in the wintertime when PWC use and summertime paddle boarders are at a minimum. The St. Joseph Sound area has been a fantastic this year for trout fishing. You might not recognize it now. Twenty plus years ago it was a beautiful sleepy little bayou. It's all McMansions now.
You’re killing it. Can’t wait to get on the water. Hope you are doing well.
Yum
Man you are getting them. Nice to see
Get ‘em, Bill!
Great job on the fish
When you had "Hitchhikers Guide" in the title I thought... Since when did Douglas Addams mention sheepshead fish in the book?? 🤔🤣
Awesome. I have wake baits but have not used them. I sure will try it. Dedicated 2024 to no jigs. Mirro dine and skinny lipper.
@@nickhatzistefanou960 I much prefer the Mirrodines in open water 2' or more. When the Snook and Reds are over the limestone, I like the Wake bait. When slack it, it floats, so it doesn't snag and if you hook up on the rocks a few wiggles and it floats free. It's very similar to the Skinny Lipper in returning to the surface. I've caught (and my son too) on the Skinny Lipper, but the thing I like about the Wake bait is the rattle.
Good to see you out. Trout bite was crazy this morning. Didn’t fish up here. Was down south. Multiple in the mid 20’s. Negative tide and the full moon this morning was absolutely perfect. Did you fish Chaz? Soft dine and top water.
@@nickhatzistefanou960No. Anclote River near me. Did you fish Chaz? I wanted to so badly, but didn't like the negative tide. I think I might on Tuesday. Run to South Blind and return to Bayport as the tide levels fall.
Anclote today myself. Dang man. I need to get your contact number. Boat is set up now. Can run in 8 inches. Hammered them today. Between the two of us, we caught over 40 trout 2 redfish and believe it or not several barracudas.
We were out there at 0630.
@@nickhatzistefanou960 Very nice. I'll shoot you a message over Salt Strong chat and give you my mobile. Did you guys see any Trout over 20"? I was focusing on the Reds, but got a 17" Trout as by catch. I'd love a good 23" trout for a challenge I'm in for December. ;op Those Soft dines are killer in winter.
Not a member anymore. Tried to post my email. YES. Multiple in the mid 20”. Had one 25 almost 26 my buddy got that one. Most trout were 18-20. We had the place to ourselves because nobody could get in where we were.
The man upstairs paints another beautiful sunset. 🇺🇸👍🙏🙏🙏🙏
I’m a fan boys 👍🏼
what size is this?
great video
Wish it was bigger
If ya can’t enjoy every bit of that day ! The fish were the cherry on top!
STUPID STICK
Nice fishing bro, love the channel, just followed you 😊 have a peek at some of our fishing’s trips in Auckland, New Zealand ❤
Reds are definitely one that makes you want to come back for me. Love hooking up on one. Love cooking them even more. New sub from my channel to yours
After all the rain in the swamp the water has turned to black just about everywhere you run now so the outside edges are the place to catchem!!😎🎣
Yes. We caught one Red off Sheepshead Key and two just inside Net Spread. All the rain had the water temp back to 84⁰, so we went up Fish Creek a bit. The water was like boating in Coca-Cola and we couldn't buy a bite.
Nice, Bill!
Nice catch!
Thanks!
thanks for the video, helps me get through the day!
Snook Strong!
I noticed the temperature goes up to 200 degrees; what temperature do you cook fried shrimp?
Since it is straight outta Asia, the temperature gauge is in Celsius and not Fahrenheit, so that 200⁰C on the gauge is actually 392⁰F. It has a Red Zone on the gauge for the best temperature range for frying. I just keep it in that zone which is around 375⁰F.
Thats a tarpin??? Being honest never seen one in my entire life
Yessir, that is a smaller "Juvenile Tarpon", about 30" in length. They get to 200 lbs, but these are more fun. No need to fight them for an hour.
That’s awesome. I have seen them but never caught one in there. Congrats
@@nickhatzistefanou960 Thanks Nick! We've seen them before, but way out, breaching off Crawl Key by the Chassahowitzka River channel. I saw a pair on the move this June out near Sheepshead Key. This one was way back in a shallow, rugged zone where I normally find Snook and Redfish. I thought this was a Snook at first until it jumped and tail walked and I saw how narrow its body was for its length.
“This thing is awesoooome 🎶” I cracked up! 🤣 I just got mine, this helped make a decision…thx!!
I bet you do. Have not been out there in a bit. Wanted to get out in the evening but storms have been keeping me away
@@nickhatzistefanou960 All of June we've been leaving before sunrise, heading back around 11:30, checking the Doppler every hour and keeping an eye on the sky. The rains have definitely been showing up by 1PM.
Yeah. Work has me planted. Only day I had off went out to Anclote. One day we will meet up.
Would it be a stretch to say.....I know where you're fishin'😎🎣......LOL!!
@@WesLovelace Haha. Yeah it was a great area too. We got about four Rat Reds and two 22" Reds.
So nice can we get it at India
Nice Linesiders in the open water.....If people don't know about the ragged lime rock bottom they just need to run up the coast in the skinny water in a 1.5 to 2.0 low water tide.....LOL!!😎👀
That's for sure. I just cultivated a new track that runs from Bayport channel north, just in front of Pine Island, that essentially follows the 2' MLLW contour. I wanted an alternate route for when winds are high and waves are rollers at the Marker 3 depth. It is shallow though and you have to go down the way swerving like a drunken snake. It has to be 1.5 or better for me to take that. Never take anything for granted. But, hey, that is where the fish are!
@@longstrangejourney4776 I've had my track for 20 years..... right by Rock Island, Pine Island Beach and and brushing the mangroves by Nickel Island.....From there it's thru Mud Bay the S-turn and into Wall Bay.....Kinda skinny but I never lost my skeg in 19 years with the 2 stroker.....Got another 20 to go with the new 4 stroker.....LOL!!😎👀🎣
Very nice. I veer out by Nickle and come back in a Net Spread. The boat that you see in the vid is a 1988 Maverick Deluxe. I just had the bottom redone and when I did, I replaced the Jackplate and moved the Suzuki up one hole. I can get on plane in 1.5' feet and remain, but I do feel safer running out a bit at Higgenbotham bay and staying with the 2' depth contour. It's not a tunnel-hull boat like yours. But I do like how one boat can do that and run 30 miles off in the same day, so it serves me well. I grew up playing on the river, but only started fishing the outer NWR and creeks since 2018. What is interesting is that I have fished it pretty hard for the past 6 years yet in the last two trips better than 80% of the areas I have fished are completely new to me. So expansive that there is always some nook or cranny that you have never ventured into. Such a treasure.
@@longstrangejourney4776 It's great to have access to about 50 sq. miles of flippin' beauty!!
With the chop why did you not go with a spoon? Jimmy asked me at the Chapter meeting Wednesday that once I feel full strength that I needed to hit him up to go to the Chaz with him.
Good day Mark. A lightweight Aquadream might actually be good, but you'd have to keep it constantly moving. There is literally 10-12" of water over top these limestone rocks and the fish hide between them. It is not river-rocks or pea gravel, but large outcroppings of rocks, so any lures that fall towards the sea floor will get caught up in these rocks. For instance, in a similar location on Friday, I caught two of those Rat Reds I mentioned on a Jerkshad on a rigging hook with a 1/8oz belly weight. The thing is, I also lost two of those jerkshad/rigging hook setups to the rocks. Its only maybe $3 to lose a DOA jerkshad and an Owner Twistlock, but you wouldn't want to do even that that over and over. If you have something that settles to the sea floor, you will either lose it or end up blowing out the spot to get out and wade over and get it (the boat can only get so close). Especially if you pause your retreive to work the trolling motor or something. Having a lure that returns to the surface when you pause the retrieve is key. The Topwater, Wakebait and even a Jerkbait are three that work very well in this setting.
BTW: When you are ready ping me here or on Salt Strong Community. I am always going up there. Give me a shout and come on board. Jimmy and I fish together a lot and fish that way often. We've both been working like crazy and he's participating in a few digital tournaments, and it gives him focused fishing time, so we have been fishing separately a lot this Spring.
Curious do they make a adapter for type c charging ? Like the Apple type c to the iPhone 15
I don't think so. Just the dual USB-A is all I see.
That's funny and probably true!
you could also flip the remote upside down when backing up. so right is right, left is left again.
Thank you. Your video was helplful
I'm glad it was helpful. I'm a pretty frugal guy, but there's two things that I will gladly splurge on: Quality prescription sunglasses and quality prescription dive masks.
