This cool light show was on when Jo had acrobatic nationals in Sydney this year, 2012. I was staying at the Rocks YHA so it was a walk away down at Circular Quay. All these amazing projections onto buildings were fantastic. The lights are designed to fit to the specific architecture of the building. This one was on the contemporary art gallery.

So this is how they make the gold leaf. After the small squares of gold are made, people then buy them to put on the Buddha Image. (This is done by the men). Sometimes there is so much gold on the Buddha images that their shape is changed to a round blob. This happened to the 5 buddhas going around Inlay Lake for the October festival at Nyaing Shwe and the 18 villages around the lake. Very sacred.

In Yangon I taught an English Class for an hour. The difference is, it was hot, there were many levels, they didn't know how to group work, the teacher had a microphone and did rote learning, they had a text book of incomprehensible English conversation, the power went off, we couldn't see anymore, the whiteboard ink spilt all over my hands, the whiteboard was narrow and too high, the teacher h...

This is in southern Lombok. I thought I would try a new job skill. It's social, and I like to work out doors, but it would get very tiring all day to thrash rice, then pick up the big piles and move it to storage in the houses. I guess with any farming there is a variety of work throughout the year, according to the season. It's kind of nice to work without machinery noise, just the baa of goat...
