You were hauling in that truck, looks like you got up to 70!
These drivers are so dumb. You don't stop in the middle of the goddamn road, you move over to the right hand side of the road out of the way.
Why are the tones 22 seconds long..thats a wasted 22 seconds getting information to members and getting them to the station..
Love this body cam driving setup hope you continue it!!
This 1:49 street looks awesome with those trees and road lamps
@POV - Fire - Response what video was it when you got a call while getting coffee?
I really do not remember when that one was done. I assume the one when I was at Starbucks? I do not recall the call type.
@@POV-Fire-Response yea it was also the one where Siri thought you said I’m going to a car 🤣
You need to find a way to stabilize that camera. What you are doing is great work but too hard to watch with the camera shaking so bad.
Yes right now its on my safety vest. Not stable at all. I will look into getting a mount for it.
Been on a volunteer department before and this is what it is like when not many people are around during the day about 8 minutes to get to the station crazy so total time before first Engine on scene is about 15 minutes . Plus not to mention he didn't even take his turnout gear with him except his helmet. So now if a house fire came In he has no gear. Glad he didn't need it on this call and what the hell kinda system is on that on the truck for the sand? Never seen that on a fire Engine.
This apparatus is our heavy rescue. There is no pump. The oil dry is on top of the apparatus and is gravity fed down a tube to put in buckets. The Engine and small crew where already on scene. One of the crew members had to leave. Thanks for watching.
Look like you goes get FD truck then go on call or on secne
Good stuff God Bless and stay safe.
Thank you.
My days as a volunteer firefighter from ‘86 to now, really not uncommon. One person gets the truck, everyone else meet at the scene. Welcome to NH.
It is becoming more common than it used to be.
No crew with his on the way to the fire in the engine
Yeah no crew with him to go to the car accident because it's a volunteer department and now a days there are not many volunteers around during the day
Crew was on scene. We had members already responding with an Engine.
Finally we get some local boys on TH-cam.
Ha ha are you in Aiken or Augusta?

@@POV-Fire-Response seen you around running 10-18 never knew you was Beech Island capin. Great show and nice set up on your truck
Thank you. The truck is showing its age along with me.
@@POV-Fire-Response brother that's everybody 😂 me especially LOL
7.5 minutes code 3 to get to the fire station seems like a long time to me. I'm a vol and in my area nobody is more the 3-4 minutes from their station, and we are not allowed to go code in our POV's.
It takes a significant amount of time. As a volunteer yourself, you are likely aware of the challenges that fire services are currently facing with volunteers. For instance, 40 years ago, the population stood at 234,000,000, whereas today it has risen to 332,000,000. Emergency calls have also increased from 10,819,000 to 36,416,000 during the same period. The number of volunteer firefighters has decreased from 898,000 to 676,000. This data was reported by ABC 30 news. Is it worth my time, gas, and money to continue volunteering. Living just 7 miles away from the station in Augusta, GA, and volunteering in Beech Island, SC, I could easily stay home. If Augusta, GA, had a volunteer program, I would have likely chosen to volunteer here. I strongly believe that every community should have emergency services to assist people in need. Despite the challenges, I'm passionate about what I do. While there are individuals closer to the station who respond either with their personal vehicle or by getting an apparatus, I usually head straight to the scene in my personal vehicle. Although it is uncommon for me to use an apparatus, there are days when it becomes necessary due to the lack of available responders. Every department has their own way to respond and operate. I thank you for watching and commenting.
Dude must have been hauling
Yes he was. He was hauling the car that he was on top of.
@@POV-Fire-Response pffff touche Chief touche
Why take a apparatus if you don't have a crew
Its a volunteer department, and most times they just meet the truck at the scene since they mostly all have there gear in the POV.
It's not often you see a tow truck involved with a crash, especially one that bad. Curious what happened.

Ha ha I was waiting for the first comment of the phone in the hand.
Does the FD pay for the car you take to station as well or is that your own car?
No this is my own vehicle.
Nice footage and driving like always sir! Any chance we could get a station tour and a showing of the apparatus?
@POV - Fire - Response I love the body cam footage what happened to all 3 camera while driving? Can we get them back

Hey Chief, any advice or wisdom for a rookie about to join his local VFD?
The only true advice I can give is be slow to speak and quick to listen. Take constructive criticism, take all the classes you can and be patient. Keep a professional attitude and a positive mind set and you should do well. From me to you thank you for your service to your community. It is very hard to recruit and keep volunteers today.
@@POV-Fire-Response and thank you for taking time out of your day to teach me this
Is there not anyone closer? How big are your districts?
How many calls do you get a month?
It varies. Our slowest month is around 30 calls our busiest is around 100.
@POV-Fire-Response wow. It's been a month and we haven't had any lol which is a good thing I suppose. We have a real rural area
How fast do you usually go

Do you ever do engine reponse?
Why shut the sirens off if your lights are still active? It adds liability.
No, that's called code 2.
@POV-Fire-Response Another great response brother stay safe out there. Thank you for your service. I like when you tell us about the call after you leave.
You know one siren you should add to your siren package. It is called the rambler. It will get people out of your way.
rumbler, not rambler
He used to have one
Love the content, especially the part where you're being very courteous and not using your sirens in the dead of the night unless necessary. Unlike my local VFD who incessantly blares the horns and sirens at midnight in a small town with absolutely no traffic like a bunch of foolish children. Anyways, hopefully your content will show up in my feed in the future!
Legally if running lights, sirens are needed. If anyone pulls out in front of you, and no sirens….. lawyers will be chasing the ambulance
@@RyanW-mj9lu Trust me, I get that. the thing is it's a two lane back roads with homes and the occasional intersection every once in a while. I feel it's unnecessary to be for lack of better terms "disturbing the peace" as they could easily observe oncoming vehicles and at that point hit their Q and sirens if necessary.
8:18 Kia Driver has 0 awareness. Running Dual Sirens + 6s of a blaring horn before they even think of moving over
It seems like lately I'm getting a lot of that. People not paying attention.
So the problem is honestly twofold. 1. New cars are incredibly sound insulated, even cheaper economy cars. Sometimes this is in purpose, other times it's due to the thicker crash structures inside the vehicles. 2. Loud music! Again, even base models are starting to come with freaking subwoofers! So it's pretty easy to blast your music loudly These two combined causes you to not hear sirens and/or horns very easily. Sadly, can't really stop getting manufacturers to stop including either of those things. I've seen some research done into V2X (Vehicle To X) devices that could mute radios and/or speakers inside cars when emergency vehicles are approaching, but no manufacturer seemed to ever want to implement it.
@POV-Fire-Response Aren't you the Chief? Also what happened to all 3 cameras? Miss those videos
Deputy Chief. The beeping in the video is the other camera not recognizing the memory card. I will get another card when I can to replace it.

Stay safe man, great content.
Thanks for watching.
I like pov response videos. I’m planning on being a volunteer firefighter. I’m 14, and I can apply at 16. Do you think if I had lights on my car to get to the station, it would be bad?
If your station allows it
Most don't allow juniors members to run lights
Such a massive waste of time, have your firefighters at the station.
