I had a shop want to charge $1400 for a Crown Vic water pump and thermostat! It took me a 55 minutes to r&r and 20 minutes to refill coolant and get the air out. Christian Brothers shop didn’t seem so Christian. $160 in OEM parts. Give me break.

So my Rx8 has an electric oil feeder, and electric power steering, electric AC. I can put an electric water pump on my Rx8 too😅

So far lol. Just a starter on a cummins, dont make the old one, updated new one, extra wire, i goofeed and put it where it wasnt supposed to go, FIRE. Removed and replaced with another one correctly, lost a starter and a fire extinguisher, which i now use to prank the parts guy.

well .. i put 6 piston with con rod attached inside pail fo 3 weeks and try too clean it and re use it .. 3 month after being mechanic that time

Cluster.. forgot to disconnect the battery in my wifes ford before i took the radio out and somehow it made her cluster screw up now the guages sometimes wig out when you first start it. Mofos want almost 1k for a new one programmed i passed. She just deals with it now.

The head gasket. Didn't know machining the surfaces was pretty much a requirement so I replaced it not knowing I'd need to do it again in a week

Oh God, I had a Land Rover and I was replacing a t fitting for coolant $4 part and I ended up elbowing the plastic radiator nipple. I couldn’t repair it. I ended up buying a new radiator and it was a 2 day job. Front bumper had to come off.

Fix all the oil leaks. Oil saturated the rubber in the dampener causing it to separate.

I'm not a demolition man; my "best achievement " is one ABS sensor that cost about $150 some years ago. I was doing breaks on Nissan van and didn't know that these plastic sensors have to be removed.

lol. Forgot to hook up the turbo feed line once. Had it hooked to the turbo drain while I was working to avoid spills. Made it 4 miles.

Engine rubbed ground causing pulley to open losing tension & belt.

those extensions are killing the torque from ur impact gun. still, that tip of turning over the crank with a ratchet on it works pretty good.

For all that, there’s a reason why it’s 900. Like a starter, on my celica it’s easy, but if it’s buried in a million things i ain’t touching it if i ain’t gettin paid. Especially if i’m gonna end up hating myself cause i can’t reach the bolts

looks like a fairly straightforward repair. granted $900 is considered cheap by dealership standards these days, you’d save a ton of money by spending an afternoon getting your hands dirty.

Anything i gotta do to my own vehicle ..i start out changing the fuel pump , found rusty crossmembers on the frame , turned into a frame rebuild , new used short box new used cab ,totall frame off restore ..it aint done yet ...

Water pump on a Honda legend , with only an adjustable spanner and shitty metric socket set to work with. It turns on this particular example, there was combination of metric and imperial fasteners all throughout the engine bay.
