You are making a couple mistakes: 1) the bottom should not rest on the bumper but should be slightly above it. You should use the bottom of the trunk lid 2) you are attaching the bottom hooks to the side of the trunk, however, they need to be attached to the bottom of the trunk lid. What you are doing can cause the heavy rack to fall on your trunk window, potentially shattering it!

What I heard is their starting a fee for self checkout service because loss of revenue.

That sucks. Self checkout was way better.

lol good. There are several reasons for this. Crime control, liability of false crime, costly to maintain, and unsatisfactory customer experience. There’s more but that’s a start.
