A frequent issue is the drive mechanism under the actuator gets gummed up with clutch dust. If you remove the actuator and drive the mechanism with a cordless screwdriver while spraying with brake cleaner you can fix a lot of problems pretty much for free.

Rebuild it still cheaper than a new one
