Well, the tuning on the Burn My Eyes is in between Drop B and Drop C Standard. This song does sound even more incredible in this tuning, I'm glad you agree! 👌🏻🤘🏻

@ aye thank you, it was ok nothing fancy tbh another year pass by type of moment and yeah it is sad they don’t get much recognition however this record in particular was really hated due to the style shift and the fact that it was a year or two past vinnie’s death so a different drummer had to fill in.

@ true that aging is just not really fun at all 🙃🙃🙃 and yeah Eov was like peak 90s metal and by far my favorite from the era despite how many other great records were released in the 90s they just ugh don’t come close to how brutal it was 🤘🤘🤘🤘

Yeah, it's diabolical, in the best possible sense of the word! 😹🤘🏻Couldn't agree more that Christ Illusion is the best Slayer album released this century, most of the songs on it are truly classic Slayer. Oh, Dave Lombardo will always be the GOAT afaic. As much as I love Paul, he will always be the apprentice to the master.

Yeah, it's one of mine too! Kerry really stepped up on this record, about 80% of the music on Divine is his, and it's such an underrated gem of an album. ❤ Paul must have had such a huge weight on his shoulders going in to record this, due to Dave's impeccable perfomances on their previous records, and the huge reputation he'd built up due to that. Paul proved the band made the right choice with him though, his drumming is awesome on this record. 🤘🏻

@@Sara_Kaneyeah I have a soft spot for this album since it came out the year I was born 🤘🤘🤘 there’s a lot of bangers off of it and yeah Paul really clutched up in a good way not as hard as Lombardo however love the technical touch of him on this album truly remarkable 🤘🤘🤘

It was either E Standard or C#, but the more punkish edge that E gave it just edged it for me! lol 😊Yeah, Jeff and Kerry's lead style, for all the bashing it gets from music snobs, was just perfect for Slayer's music, it's an iconic sound! 🤘🏻

This song has always been my personal fave from that album, I absolutely love it. It's totally classic Slayer for me! I remember Jeff giving a sweet interview where he said it took him a long time to write the lyrics as he found it hard "writing from a female perspective" (the song is about Elizabeth Bathory). I was like "From a female perspective? Yeah right Jeff, like torturing and killing hundreds of girls is totally normal, everyday female behaviour!" 😂🙃 Ah bless him, what a legend he was! 🤘🏻 Funnily enough, those two songs finish up my top 3 from that album, alongside this one. lol I absolutely could do them, and will very likely do both of them, as I love both so much. 👍🏻

@ yeah I saw that interview 😂😂 Jeff was a piece of work, and I’ve always found it interesting how this song is after Bathory, snuff is another underrated track off of WPB still can’t get over the fact that it was Jeff’s last slayer album. It’s sad 🤘🤘🤘🤘

It is! 👌🏻Yeah well, I've been buying metal albums since 1990, and have amassed quite a big collection over the years. It's always nice when I post something more obscure and someone recognises it. When I started doing this, I said if just one person gets enjoyment from my uploads, then it's worth doing. lol It's awesome that you know these guys, Mordred are one of "those" bands who really should have gotten bigger than they did. @@thegemini8535 I love their thrash-meets-funk aesthetic, which made them stand out during a time when the thrash genre was so oversaturated, unfortunately, that probably held them back too. I appreciate the kudos, it's most welcome! 👌🏻🤘🏻

The reason is two-fold really, firstly, it's just getting the song to a different tuning that I really like the sound of. And if that sweet spot happens to be inbetween any of the more widely recognised tunings, then so be it. Also, when you adjust the pitch significantly, the vocals are by far the thing that's most negatively affected, so putting the pitch a little sharper/flatter can help mitigate that a bit whilst keeping very close to the sound of the target tuning I want. Oh! Also, I don't like uploading a song in a retuning that has already been done, which is a common issue with very popular bands like Maiden. I've never seen anyone else doing songs in those inbetween tunings, so it's a way doing songs that have already been done, but in a unique way. So, the reason is actually three-fold! lol It amazes me that in all the time I've been doing these retunings, you're the first person to enquire about that, so thanks for the input. 👌🏻

Well... the song sounded killer in E Standard and F too, but from the moment I first heard this track, I felt it would make for an awesome death metal song. So sure enough, as soon as I heard it in B, that was what I had to go with, it changed from being a classic brutal thrash tune, to a true death metal ripper! 🤘🏻🔥❤ Glad you liked it! 👌🏻😎

Well, I don't usually think of uptuning songs above E Standard, but I've been listening to a lot of Vektor lately, and they tune to F#, so that tuning has been in my head a lot lately. 😂Glad you enjoyed it! 😊

@@thegemini8535 Well, it has to be said, that most newer thrash bands don't really do much for me, but Vektor are one of the rare exceptions, they have their own identity and sound, and they are awesome. I did "Echoless Chamber" in Eb Tuning a few days ago, and it sounded killer. 😎🤘🏻

Yeah, you wouldn't think changing the pitch by just quarter of a step would make much difference, but it is very noticeable!

Yes, the solo in this song is really awesome! Jeff and Kerry at their best, and on their first album too! Show No Mercy is an amazing album overall though. 😊🤟🏻

Yep, Grave Digger are a very underrated band! 🤘🏻Their slower, more atmospheric stuff is awesome, though I love most of their songs, I have to say. 😊I don't own any Deftones stuff at all, so I won't be able to do that one, I'm afraid. Yeah, I don't do much Metallica because most of their songs have already been done by other people in practically every different tuning. lol For this one, every other tuning above A# had been done, but I thought the music sounded really killer in A#, so I did it. Doesn't surprise me you love this song, it truly is an awesome one, the first time I heard it, it became an instant Metallica classic to me! 😎🤟🏻👌🏻

It is definitely an underrated classic, and probably my fave track from GHUA, though I'd say I love at least half of the songs on that record I really love. "Disciple", "New Faith" and "Payback" are all bangers, and "Deviance" is a real hidden sinister gem of a track, I love that one! 👌🏻🤟🏻

I did promise a while back that I'd also do the MH version when I did the original. lol 😊 I wasn't sure if I'd pitched it up too high, as it's trickier to retune songs that are in drop tunings. But I think it sounds killer, especially those leads as you say! Robb and Phil did total justice to K.K. and Glenn there! I also love Robb's vocal delivery, especially on the chorus, it really is the right way to cover a tune! 🤟🏻🔥⚡

I really should do another one from that album, it's tough to choose one though, as I love that whole album pretty much. Oh, it's a hot one alright! That twin lead section is sublime. 🔥👌🏻The first album in general, deserves more love, and this song was the perfect choice to open it. It really shocked me to find out not only that was Vinny gone, but that he died at such a young age. 😔 It means he's eternally young though, and his incredible drumming performance on EOV in particular will forever stand as one of the finest drumming performances on a thrash album of all time. I'm sure Dave Lombardo was a major influence on him, you can definitely hear it in his playing. RIP Vinnie. 🤟🏻🕯

@@thegemini8535 Yeah, I find it really ironic that some feel that you need to conform to a very specific listening criteria in order to be deemed an authentic metal fan, and that any deviation from that is viewed with scorn and disdain. To me growing up, metal music always stood for non-conformity, and being yourself. And, as far as I'm concerned, being a poser in terms of music means one thing only: Compromising your tastes to fit in with a certain demographic of people. It's got nothing to do with the actual music itself. But yeah, it's especially ludicrous when you get someone who wasn't even born when I was going to see the likes of Bolt Thrower and Napalm Death live in my teens, saying I'm a "poser" just because I enjoy a band like Slipknot. 😂🙃

Haha! 🙃Yeah, it truly is an awesome record, but very much a hidden treasure sadly. I actually owned the cassette of it years before I even had a CD player. lol I read about them in Metal Maniacs way back when (a killer metal magazine from back in the day), and knew I had to check them out. Greg Fulton's guitar solo at the end of this song is my top 10 all time favourites, I always get emotional listening to it, it's a beauty to be sure. 👌🏻I'm surprised you know this band and album. But then again, I've only ever met one other person who knew who they were prior to knowing me. 😸

@@Sara_Kane I stumbled across that record like 10ish years ago and has been a quite staple ever since tbh, I really love their style and melody there’s like something special to it, I typically love all out thrash but those who are on the melodic “ballad” like tempo hit a nerve man, you can’t really find like that type of music nowadays no more I’m still like constantly discovering new stuff from the 80s and 90s so I’m glad you upload some CT they rock 🤘🤘🤘🤘
