The Produce on Tec
First time back in a twin set in a while, it felt good to be back! Had a great dive on The Produce with Alan, Dawie, Neal, Kerry, Johannes, Zane, Claire and Vanessa. A total dive time of 67 minutes with about 20 minutes of decompression.
The current pushing onto the wreck picked up silt and sand in the water on the one side of the wreck, dirtying the water - the other side was nice and clean with lots to see!
The rest of the team was on side mount and I was in a twin set.

Vetchs Pier Night Dive
มุมมอง 3857 ปีที่แล้ว
Did a shore entry night dive, the sand had been getting pumped out of the harbor and the North Easterly wind had been blowing all day therefore the visibility was poor. The dive was still great! Saw lots and had an hours bottom time. The highlights were the crab and the octopus. The lights on my set up failed a week ago hence the poor quality using the torch to illuminate the area - it was the ...

Took my PADI Advanced Open Water students on their drift dive of the course. Beautiful clean water, amazing group of divers! We were spoilt by a group of about 10 round ribbon tail rays that stayed with us for the whole dive! Two shy potato bass were also spotted. An eagle ray that I didn't manage to film as well as an oceanic black tip on our safety stop. It was a great dive! Thanks for having...
Great White Shark Warns Irresponsible Scuba Diver
มุมมอง 3.9M7 ปีที่แล้ว
This footage was taken in August 2015 at Humpback Whale Carcass (See video here: th-cam.com/video/KC7yCDRHIAQ/w-d-xo.html) in Aliwal Shoal MPA. Last year we anchored a humpback carcass near the reef and, naturally, a number of predators came to feed, including a few great whites. It is quite rare for great whites to visit Aliwal Shoal so a few divers had the privilege of diving with these amazi...
The Ocean is Thirsty for change - Plastic is not just a global issue.

As an assignment at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, myself and my group members, Amy, Sam, Nikita and Wesley decided to show the class the pressing issue of plastic pollution in a marine environment close to home - Vetch's Pier, Durban, South Africa. We are all third year BSc Marine Biology students and will be completing our degrees later this year.
Humpback Whale Carcass and Great White - NO CAGE
มุมมอง 6K8 ปีที่แล้ว
What a special day! I got to tick another item off my bucket list, I dived with #GreatWhiteSharks today! Without a cage! A whale carcass has been floating out at sea since yesterday morning and some big sharks have been munching at it! Today was quite compared to yesterday, but it was still such an incredible thing to witness! The sharks that we dived with today were quite curious, but not o...

The question is basically irrelevant. As humans in the sea, we are always "in their house", plus a large Great White is an apex predator and can do what he wants. The problem here is that most humans diving with those magnificent predators do not know to read their body language. Look at the pectoral fins arched downwards, i.e. the shark is pissed, but still swims quite calmly, so it's not yet too bad. I assume, at this specific location it's already full from feasting on the whale carcass and pretty calm based on that. But in any event, it is a very bad idea to try and touch any wild animal. They do not like that at all and usually react aggressively if approached in that manner by humans. Nobody would dare doing that with a wild bear or lion for example. Nobody in their right mind would even try to approach those. Why do they think it's okay doing it with a Great White? Touching a predator in the wild that is capable of swallowing you whole is downright stupid. People like that should not be allowed to dive with sharks.
To be fair, I'd not be too happy with someone fuckin around and bump me without respecting my personal space in my home
The shark might interpret the bubbles from a divers tanks as either a threat or wounded prey and might attack from intimidation or curiosity. Very unpredictable. I’ll stay on the boat and listen to that music 🎶 instead.
Stupid is as stupid does Mrs. Gump
You touch me I'm touching back
Rather measured and merciful of the shark. And were they near a whale carcass?! Aren't sharks more territorial when they're predating/feeding? Just back off. Diver was lucky.
The crazy thing is people thinking you have any rights in someone elses house. Its the sharks habitat & whatever happens to the divers is their own fault, ive no sympathy.
Sharks have vertical & horizontal 360° attack angle on humans deep-diving...... you're crazy! No wonder why so many divers/spear fisherman come up missing
He just wanted a belly rub.
Oh you wanna play? Ok.
Sharks don't give warnings. If they think you're food then you're toast. If you convince them you're not then you live to dive another day.
Should have kept your damn hands off the shark it looked like the other dude had a bang stick they would have killed the shark for a stupid ass human mistake we deserve the asteroid at this point
Sharks are very sneaky animals. They know how to sneak up behind swimmers and divers freakishly well.
Yes The diver was lucky
Sharks warning? The whole thing looked like a beautiful abstract painting in motion to me…
You’re in their domain, you obey their rules… it’s really very simple
What is the music ?
It is Keffy May, Restored Soul
@@albertoc3088 thank you
Lack of respect
Lookie lookie, no touchy touchy. 😂
The only thing that shark has to justify is its lunch
These jokers are fascinating. Before TH-cam and the opportunity to watch hours of non-predatory behavior, I already loved white sharks.. But now I've seen incredible, unanticipated behavior that almost makes them look like comedians. Thank God for a planet that produces such complex and intricate personalities 😂😂😂
contrairement aux idées reçues le grand blanc n est pas le requin qui fait le plus d attaque mais le requin bouledogue qui a aussi la particularité de supporté l eau douce en alternance avec l eau de mer.
That shark 🦈 gots a law suit coming..
Sharks should have bang sticks to protect themselves from irresponsible divers...
The sharks "warning" He was investigating to see if it was food. If it wants to eat you, it probably won't give you a warning first.
The Shark: Go back to your boat human! This is no place for you!
Looks like the shark just doubled back to give an annoying pest a 'buzz off' shove. Diver got lucky!
Bad Touch ! That was 100% a warning
No sharks are just hungry grumpy old men. Bitting is what they do.
Wasn’t there a dead whale floating, if that shark had its fill of food then it wasn’t gonna eat the man and that’s just how they inspect, shark wanted to know who touched him.
Perfect example of just because you can do something doesn't mean you should.
I can’t believe the diver reached out to pet a great white shark. How stupid are you ??? The fact that he lived to tell about it is a miracle.
Shark was not justified and should be arrested! Arrest that shark!! 🦈
You touch me, I touch you.
“Was it justified?” Depends…Seeing as “some” sharks can let you off with a warning, some are gentle, while others will just attack without warning.
Fins down?
Humans are the only animal that have to justify their actions.
Some liberal that wanted a viral video of them sharing a bs walt disney moment with a great white to "prove" they love people
Why would you try and piss off a great white .me thinks that man needs his head looking at .you're in their world .play by their rules, or it could get nasty very quickly .and you will come out the loser.
Sharks… the sophisticated creatures of the sea. Orcas: the majestic beauties of the sea but they’ll rip you to shreds if they are hungry enough Dolphins: assholes 😂
how stupid do have to be? you don't touch anything in the ocean. and this clown had gloves on
The ocean is there territory.
Idioten wie du und dein Kameramann sollten gefressen werden. Blödsäcke.
I think the only reason this diver wasn't harmed was the amount of exertion it takes from a shark and when they are feeding the last thing they want to do is waste the caloric intake on a diver
Th shark needed that food ,the ocean is scarce for decent blubber and fat for sharks so its vital they eat up when they can and the divers were causing stress to the shark possibly enough to scare it from eating which has dire consequences ,the diver should just not have been there ,no one should be silly enough to be around great whites feeding but more important ,they are interrupting the food required for them to exist
the shark craves taming.
This is why sharks get a bad name it's people like this...... no respect 😒
One Guy with camera needs to know how to center field of view so we see what happened and make better judgement So knowing great white sharks it was touched by scuba guy Then it was curious
The shark was being a shark, the idle rich are being idle rich.
The number one thing every shark expert says not to do is to swim near dead whales
