I was in a house once in Florida and I thought someone was outside on the property and it ended up that the exhaust fan in the bathroom was picking up shortwave radio or CB and I thought of that episode of Gilligan's Island where his fillings caused him to pick up a radio station.
seeing that open reminds me of pulling them apart when i was in my 20s and adding extra channels and tweaking the power ,,, i probably ruined a few in my time bud i did succeed at extra channels a few times with no issues ,, do people still talk on the cb anymore ?

Good video and sharp eye! Quality is questionable more often than not on most radios. They are all about the same, manufacture wise..most coming from the same factory.

You got to know your fighting a non winnable fight!.. Do what YOU do and make it known to Your customers that if a problem comes up from your work, you would like first chance to address it to make it right in Black & White! A myth...lol lol your no tech ... Anyone that claims the 54 mhz trap circuit being a myth is a damn fool and sine of someone who has zero understanding of RF and transmitters...the 54 mhz trap is directly there to keep the 3 Rd harmonic out of the TX signal ..Lord go back to school son
Anything over 4 Watts is Illegal.... Would not want to get caught...
The NPC mod ....if set up correctly....is a very clean modification. The reduced carrier is one of the keys to the mod...there is no benefit whatsoever to running a high carrier....a high carrier is useless unless you like an overly warm radio. I keep my rangers around 150% modulation and they all have a clean sinewave and very acceptable harmonics on the analyzer. Even the FCC allows 125% modulation on commercial AM broadcast stations so obviously over 100% mod can be done correctly.....and not a dirty signal.
Makes you wonder why other radio shops refuse to show spectrum analyzer and line scope on customers radios they to claim to tune up. One shop charges customers $25 for a tune up report video and all he shows is watt meter.
The customer asked for that radio power to be turned down to 60watt.
Good morning and thank you for following the channel.And no I don't believe that's a fact, if you notice the video and description have been edited (you would only notice this if you saw the original). In the original video he stated that the radio was set up PER MANUFACTURER SPEC. Put all that aside, if he was setting it up for an amp, any good shop would have had the amp on the bench along with the radio to be sure that they where matched together.There are too many variables in setting up a radio with an amp, you just don't say a radio is set to run an amp and let it go, this is why so many people blow up there amps. Also keep in mind every radio and amp (to be run properly) are set up in different ways. Just for example a 2 watt carrier could over drive an amp's output carrier, which would cause it to run hot and eventually cause damage. And the shop you are referencing, doesn't even understand the proper way to set FM deviation. Again thank you for following my channel, and giving me the opportunity to bring such disinformation to my followers who wish to see and know the facts. Regards, SLC Radio & Cable

His latest video he mentioned that the customer requested him to not say why he was turning that radio down, he wanted to mess with a troll and DX agreed. I have only watched a few videos from that channel. I don't know much at all about his work, i was just watching some videos on Stryker 497 (i recently bought one).
How is the radio doing so far did you leave it stock out of the box I've been wanting to get one but I got a striker 655 I don't know if it's worth the extra money or not
@@jamesdean165 I got my 497 from a different radio shop. Only thing done to it was aligned/tuned. I wouldn't go from 655 to 497. Maybe 955, if you want USB/LSB to talk DX.

None of this would have ever happened if DX radio shop didn't find it so important to keep mentioning my self and many others in his video's. Most others just sit back and take his bashing (as I should to) but as I have said in the past, I'm going to defend my self and unfortunately in doing that i have to bash back.

And I’m sorry but I’m not going to sit back and just let him walk all over me. He doe’s this same thing with a lot of people, he starts the fight and then blames it on the others guy
I don't really understand. I'm guessing you're testing with 50kHz of signal bandwidth? 200Hz up to 50kHz? That's well into the ultrasonic range. Not really sure what the usefulness of that is. All that matters is that you get clean signal without a lot of spill. Physics always wins.
Yes 50kHz bandwidth, and yes i know that's quite a spread, but it's only to show to people the difference in the power gain on the watt meter from a radio that's been cranked or clipped and a radio that's set up correctly. And yes I could use maybe as low as 20kHz, I just choose to use 50kHz,this is all just for demonstration.
