I like to play this while I sit there & think about the '60s and all the bad decisions I made which led to an awful event cascade, then I fantasize about what I might have done differently. However, I have to hop up when that awful Middle Ages sounding tunes start playing, especially the one that's slow & in a minor key. Fucks up the reverie every time.

suka krja karena kerjaku di supermarket
Thank you for this wonderful musical memory. I’m sure I’m probably in the minority when I say that a number of the beautiful musical tracks here are quite moving to me. In fact I can imagine myself, while listening to them as I shop, being lured into the Kleenex aisle. A superb listening experience. Many thanks.

It sounded like Sesame Street Music!

So are these song actually from the 70s supermarkets or did you create them to sound like it?

That shopping cart is too small for her. No wonder they're bigger now.

I have to ask..... Who is the lady shopping (pushing the shopping cart) ? We have all seen her, possibly even recognize her. Laugh if you want, this was playing at Country Mart 4 hours ago.

No different than music we hear nowadays.
This shit's f-ing amazing.

The whole idea of this music giving you subliminal messages to buy more is nothing more than a clap trap. I just need a loaf of bread and milk. Oh wait! 3 cans of corned beef for .99! I guess I'll get that. Now I'm done...4 for 1.75 on Totino's pizzas?? Ok. See? There are no subliminal messages here!
To "Paralirava" who once said i'll never do it, sincerely eat a dick. (just kidding but I've been real fuckin' busy this takes time y'know)
idk why but all the stand-alones have been getting striked :( thank you for uploading this !
I jerk my shit till it bleeds to the first track
That’s the prehistoric Karen
LOL
I love it! Just put in my ear buds and play this on my phone when I grocery shop nowadays. In the 1970s I was most likely in the shopping cart seat while my mom shopped for groceries :)
Such a great idea - going to give that a try next grocery mission.
A much better time back then I'm sure
Haha-I do the same thing. It's so peaceful and serene.
I once had i yard sale with my grandma and i was not selling (at all) so i put on this album worked like a charm
Did you play the whole album or just one or two tracks?
No WAY are u serious!?
Hey, I'm looking for the junk food section. Can someone help me?
Since I posted my original comment on April 25, 2020, lots has happened. TH-cam took down Jer Jae's first song in the series. Many people have commented on this tune in other uploads under its actual name, Mr. Lucky. The composition is ascribed to Karl Jenkins. TH-cam member Layne Krusz, who has recently replied to several comments on here, has created and is updating a playlist of other uploads to TH-cam of the 16 tunes in the series, which he called "Sounds For The Supermarket (HQ)". But that first tune, Mr. Lucky, is an earworm. I never heard of Karl Jenkins before, and wondered if he is a one hit wonder, or if he went on to bigger and better things. Turns out he is a brilliant guy from Wales, holds a PhD, was knighted by Great Britain, and can be found on an unlisted TH-cam livestream th-cam.com/video/43oEA23u9F8/w-d-xo.html. He went on to great success in the serious music field. There is a TH-cam video, v=n1InS4Gd-aM posted by Bryan Mullins The Fox which has a recording of Mr. Lucky (backwards), along with a photo of the LP DeWolfe used to distribute this music. The label looks like what was typical of UK-released LP record labels in the 1970's and 1980's. September 1. 2020. ADDENDUM: I wondered why I couldn't find the Wikipedia entry for Sounds For The Supermarket. Turns out it was taken down by Wikipedia. Details here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Sounds_for_the_Supermarket September 1, 2020 ANOTHER ADDENDUM: Looks like TH-cam ID'd one of of the two songs on video 16 - one is called Outlook on DeWolfe album DWLP3462. No one has yet ID's songs 9, 11, 14, 15. I don't know them either, but here are my observations. 1. They are all mono recordings, so likely made before 1975. 2. They will probably never be ID'd by TH-cam because to me they sound like commercially released orchestra music with names such as mood music, beautiful music, the Germans call it Tanzmusik (dance music), easy listening, etc. Even comedian Jackie Gleason released a lot of these LP's. No one is going to waste their time trying the collect royalties for these. I also note the existence of what one commenter called the "Sounds for the Supermarket $$$ Gang." They are posting the same "Supermarket" music with bogus titles to Spotify and under different names to accounts here on TH-cam. September 2, 2020.
Sounds for the Supermarket 9 and 11 are here th-cam.com/video/pS4Lb38DPjw/w-d-xo.html.
Lady on the cover looks like a Walmart shopper.
Horrible audio :O
Just the way it should sound. Horrible audio coming down from the ceiling speakers in the supermarket. Have to keep it real :)
🛒😍🍸🍇🔥🕺🏽
Everyone is talking about the woman being overweight, but I'm just focused on how uncanny her face looks with the caked on makeup
I know that the subliminal messagong was to buy produce, but i dont think its working out for her...
The audio quality is from 1920
Grocery shopping and listening to to this.
It's awesome music for the setting.
Lets Imagine just how much purchasing, power $ 1 dollar did have in those days. Compared to today our $ 1 dollar, doesn't have purchasing power. Beautiful melodies. Peace and love brothers and sisters 🤲🙏👏🙌🤝👍.
dear god this is so deep fried
Thank you for this. I adore this album. I checked out your description and it looks like you uncovered some information about the album and artist! Where did you dig that up? They’re actually from Minnesota?!?
What? Where'd you get that from? I just posted a basic description, nothing much really
Marjorie Morris, I should have been clearer in my comment from yesterday, April 25, 2020. In his description to this video, Your Local Cabbage Guzzling Shylock indicated he obtained the content from Jer Jae's series of 16 videos. He posted the TH-cam URL link for the playlist of all 16 songs. In each of the 16 videos in the series, Jer Jae posted the identical description. This is what I refer to as "the whole story". Please see my addendum to yesterday's post. Dated April 26, 2020.
Do you know what the other ten song titles are?
Marjorie Morris, no, I do not know the other ten song titles. I think you can find some more of them if you go to the TH-cam playlist of all 16 (20 songs) videos that Your Local Cabbage Guzzling Shylock provided in the description above, then read the comments to the videos. Some people were able to pick out titles, probably because they are "in the business" and are familiar with the titles from various firms creating Library Music. In the case of the titles listed above, they seem to have come from at least 6 different De Wolfe albums. Maybe the remaining 10 songs came from some of these album. The De Wolfe website offers previews to compare against. Its a lot of work, but may relieve boredom during the present Corona virus quarantine.
I think the whole story about the origins of those 16 tracks of "Sounds For The Supermarket", including that claptrap about subliminal messages, is a total fabrication. I don't think there was a "Minnesota based Communications company". I spent hours trying to find out who put out that cassette tape. All the information on the Internet led back to Jer Jae's 16 videos on TH-cam. I don't think TH-cam had the ability to scan songs to determine the correct title and artist back in 2012 when those videos were posted. Since that time, many of those videos now have artist information posted. On the ones that don't, many viewers were able to ID the songs. Almost all of them turn out to be Library Music, originals compositions meant to accompany films, videos, etc. The fuzzy sound seems to stem from the library music being run through a digital signal processor, not from subliminal messages. During my search, patent listings for subliminal message encoders turned up. The techniques described were outlandish. The general consensus is that the system doesn't work. Jer Jae may have been trying to post copyrighted library music and not get busted. Back then, all the copyright holders could do would be to search TH-cam for the titles of their songs. But if I were to post one of the Beatles songs that get taken down right away if correctly posted and rename the artist as Benton Harbor and the Mind Blowers and rename the song as Exploding Vacuum Tubes, it might stay up a while. Or, Jer Jae was simply trying to wind us up.
Back into the rabbit hole I go
I have an addition and a clarification to my original comment of April 25, 2020. Using the song titles inserted into the description of this video by TH-cam, a Internet search will reveal that others have also started posting songs from Jer Jan's collection of 16 videos, with the "Sounds for the Supermarket" tag. You can also find links on the DeWolfe Music Library website where details to these songs are listed, along with either a preview of or the entire song to listen to. In the case of the third song, titled Sunnyside at 1 minute, 55 seconds length, DeWolfe indicates this came from a music library LP called Sunny Jim, which was released in 1980. So, how could this be 1975 grocery store music? The fidelity of this song is very high, not what is heard on Jer Jae's videos. Now, a clarification. I originally assumed the song was run through a digital signal processor. It could also actually have been that Jer Jae obtained the sound from a lousy turntable system off the LP, or obtained it from a poor quality dub. Listening to both versions will reveal a big difference in quality. Dated April 26, 2020.
This album does exist, and the original tracks were brought from the company that distributed this. The current copyright holders are DeWolfe Music, but just because it says the songs are from the 80’s doesn’t mean they actually are. SFTS has these tracks originally in 1975, but DeWolfe labeled the tracks with the date they were brought from the previous owner, though JerJae did make a few mistakes with the info about these tracks.
The first mistake is that he said there were 20 tracks, but there are actually 21. The second Is that it was distributed by a Minnesota based company, when they were actually distributed by MUZAK, who went out of business in 2009.
This thing about "Supermarket music" its false. th-cam.com/video/ZZLyx_Owqec/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=Children%27sMusicCorner Its Just music from a company for jingles
