Naquela época eu tinha 14 anos e acabava de ver ao vivo a morte do meu ídolo que pontuava meus domingos numa vida tanta escura nos anos 80. Quinem para muitos dos meus patriotas brasileiros foi uma tragédia absoluta, como se tivéssemos perdido alguém da nossa própria família. Moro na França há mais de 30 anos e posso afirmar que mesmo que na época aqui o acidente dele teve um impacto emocional impressionante. Acabo de terminar os episódios da nova série da Netflix, que está bem construída, pela minha humilde opinião. Os sentimentos de tristeza permanecem igualmente intensos após 3 décadas... Descanse em paz Campeão, o mais reconfortante é saber que sua lenda permanece ancorada na memória coletiva mundial. 🇧🇷 💚💛

He was a human being like no other, not a perfect human being, but a great one. I grew up as a child and as teenager following him in any race, I loved him so much. On that cursed May 1 1994, against that hated curve of the Tamburello in Imola, destiny took him away and took also a piece of my heart with him. At first I won't accept the evidence, he could not be passed away, but he was... I was 17 years old. I don't know why I felt and still feel this way, as if a person of my family was missed forever. I silently cried for weeks anytime I was by myself and sometimes it happens even today when I remember him. I've never seen anyone like him, I wasn't able to love F1 the same way after him. Still miss him the same way after 30 years. In my mind I always remember what ancient Greeks said about heroes "Ὃν οἱ θεοὶ φιλοῦσιν, ἀποθνὴσκει νέος." (Menander).
