Gen X Dad
Canada
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 29 ก.ค. 2006
A child of the 80's who loves pop culture, wrestling, hair metal, and old school Dungeons & Dragons.
Born and live in Winnipeg, Canada, and for some reason am ferociously supportive of my hometown.

Weirder Science - A.I. aged Gary, Wyatt, Lisa
Using just the most basic AI image generators I started to try and age various 80's movie characters. While individual generations were interesting, attempts at groups were down right hilarious.
It got my adolescent mind going with all the attention over the past few years on poly-relationships. I attached different stories in my mind to the different pics generated.
Most of all, this is just supposed to be fun. If you are easily offended then just leave. The internet is a big place, you should be able to find safety somewhere.

Gen X'ers watch Bodkin over Baby Reindeer
มุมมอง 2346 หลายเดือนก่อน
I've watched both of these recent Netflix shows and here's the reasons why I think my fellow generation x babes and dudes will prefer Bodkin over Baby Reindeer. Let me know if you have watched either or both and what you thought of them. If you were born from around 1965-1979 what kind of new shows do you like and what kind don't you like?
Gen-X Dad's 5 Strange Retirement Goals
มุมมอง 3237 หลายเดือนก่อน
Most of us Gen-X'ers are now approaching retirement, or have retired in. the last few years. Of course I have my normal list of things I want to do when I retire, like travel. But I also have a list of more unusual things I want to do when I retire! What are some of the more unusual things and hobbies you want to do when you retire? Keep yelling at the clouds. Be nice to each other!
Gen-X Dad Says DON'T "Fake It Till You Make It" ! It's Horrible Advice!
มุมมอง 6847 หลายเดือนก่อน
While a few of the younger generations will work for progressive companies like google and shopify, most of you will still work in traditional roles, and find yourselves dealing with bosses ranging from the younger side of Boomers, all Gen-X'ers, and some older Millennials. Fake It Till You Make It, is a product of a different world that you won't be living in. It is terrible advice. Be genuine...
Help! I Need a Cover for my Novel!
มุมมอง 27110 หลายเดือนก่อน
Hello Everyone. I’m looking for help in developing a novel cover for my coming of age 80’s book called Battery Hill. I’ll use it for you tube and wattpad, but I also intend to self publish a small run of books as well. For me the cover of the actual physical book is much more important than the virtual because really that’s my bucket list item. I’m okay with paying a small amount to someone who...
Shadows Over Tulsa: Chapter 1: A Strange Homecoming (Outsiders/Stranger Things Crossover)
มุมมอง 1.1Kปีที่แล้ว
This is the first chapter in a project I started that combines some elements of Stranger Things with the world of The Outsiders. The events happen in the summer of '76, a couple years after the events of the book. I'm still working (editing) my first novel "Battery Hill" set in the 80's, but sometimes its fun to try something else. This story is not as polished as "Battery Hill" so hopefully yo...
Relive Bright Lights, Big City in 6 minute music video
มุมมอง 3.1Kปีที่แล้ว
Set to The Church's haunting song "Under the Milky Way" relive this tour de force 80's movie in 6 minutes. While this 1988 film starring two of Canada's finest, Michael J. Fox & Kiefer Sutherland, isn't usually mentioned as one of the most iconic 80's movies I think it has unduly been forgotten. This is a great story of the excesses of the 80's and the road to redemption in the big city that ha...

Aldo Nova Dream Set List
มุมมอง 499ปีที่แล้ว
While I have done my dream set lists for top selling artists Bruce Springsteen and Jimmy Buffett in the past, I decided to do something different and create one for the criminally underrated Canadian rock artist Aldo Nova. Aldo opened for my first concert ever in 1982, and I have tickets to see him again in November, over 40 years later. So here is my dream set list for that show, and some thou...
Follow Your Heart (80's movie tribute)
มุมมอง 6Kปีที่แล้ว
Canada's second greatest trio Triumph"s "Follow Your Heart" (1984) baselines some 80's movie clips. Most of my vids I like to include a mix of stuff from around 75-95, the sweet spot for Gen-X'ers, and anything from movies, TV, celebrities, sports, wrestling, and just average people. However, for this one I stuck strictly to 80's movies. I hope you enjoy the video and take a few minutes to foll...
Thinkin' About the Years (Haywire) (Gen-X Tribute)

Aren't we all thinking about the years? They seem to go by so fast! Remember when the 2000's seemed like so far away from the 80's? Just crazy. The song is "Thinkin' About the Years" by Canadian pop/rock band Haywire. Clips may include; Adam West doing a commercial for Nick at Nite UHF some clips from a 60 Minutes special on Disco some clips from Haywire videos She's Having a Baby Blade Runner ...

I LOVED Some kind of Wonderful! The “practice kiss” was the best!
I just watched this again after seeing this post. Mary Stuart Masterson was so much hotter than Lea Thompson. He ended up with the right one ❤️
Are we the tv generation ? Sure looks like it , how cool it was
@@jeez0r after school syndication shows for sure was a new big trend
Whoever has not seen the show do not watch this. This is not some true story about the making of it condensed version of the entire first season. It’s available online for 10 bucks and worth every penny. Trust me, I’ll be up all night watching it. The first season is one of Bochco’s greatest successes.
Whoever watched the show now, female, gay, straight, in between, fell in love with Jason Gedrick, one of the most beautiful actors that has ever lived and what can you say about the incomparable Stanley Tucci and Patricia Clarkson? I wish Daniel Benzali had done more work. I purchased the series on DVD the minute it came out.
bedroom eyes
Boch ko That’s how you pronounce the creator’s name. One of the greatest creators of Quality television ever deserves to have his name pronounced properly by a human being and not AI. Lazy presenter! Murder One’s first season was awesome. The second season was disappointing.
no AI, I did it myself. I apologize if I pronounced it wrong.
no im crying
John Hughes is the PC censor... the villain now... times do change.
Lets go crie .
The 80s were great for sure
80's we had it all. 2024 you ask? We need more than this!!!!!!!
I wish I could go back to the 80's. Times were simpler, I had some of the best times of my life and no worries except when was the next good time. The world has gone to hell in a hand basket. We as kids settled things with our mouths and hands. Then we usually ended up as friends. Today, it's knives, guns, death over stupidity, and lives ruined by arrests for a simple fight between kids. Parents don't discipline their kids anymore. Now they run amuck.
Making out with my HS sweetheart in the back of my Bronco 2 at the drive in’s drinking coors lights. God what id give
The girl @3:33 (Susanne Snyder) was stunningly beautiful. Sadly, I can't recall seeing her anywhere else. It looks like she mostly had smallish parts in a string of very forgettable Eighies movies. Too bad.
The movies, the music, the people, the culture we all had it made and we didn't know it then but we know it now..........AH to be young again
I was a teen in the 80's and loved it, but all in all the decades before and after had all to contribute to making the 80's more special 😊 thank you all for making life worth living ❤ 😊
AGORA TUDO É PASSADO JÁ PASSOU , EM FRENTE ........................

Is it just me, or did all 80's music sound way better than today's?
I have always felt blessed my life crossed paths through this time! Late 60's, then 70's and 80's were ever changing landscapes of new wonder!

John Hughes was unique. He could write a full script in a day, ready to film, and it would be a classic.

At the end of Some kind of Wonderful with Sticks walking away crying it truly conveys how your whole life can be summed up by the heart break you experience.
