2017 BMW M760Li: V12 7 Series Review Part 2
With the new BMW M760Li xDrive, the freshly launched new BMW 7 Series is gaining a prestigious flagship model. Headlined by its exceptional refinement and supreme power delivery at all times, the 12-cylinder petrol engine with M Performance TwinPower Turbo technology under the bonnet reinforces the new car’s range-topping status. The boldly dynamic driving characteristics of the BMW M760Li xDrive combine with superior ride comfort to make a compelling statement and set a new benchmark in the luxury sedan segment.
Powerful and authoritative.
The new BMW M760Li xDrive gives a debut to the new M Performance TwinPower Turbo 12-cylinder petrol engine. Concealed under a cover bearing “M Performance” lettering, the 6.6-litre V12 develops output of 448 kW/610 hp* at 5,500 rpm* and peak torque of 800 Nm (590 lb-ft)* at 1,500 rpm* (fuel consumption combined: 12.6 l/100 km [22.4 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 294 g/km)**. The high-performance unit with leading-edge M Performance TwinPower Turbo technology accelerates the BMW M760Li xDrive from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.7 seconds* on the way to an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). If the optional M Driver’s Package is specified, the speed limiter doesn’t cut in until 305 km/h (189 mph). Power transfer is via the state-of-the-art eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission as standard. The M Performance-specific tuning of the shift programs, delivering sportier gear changes and more instantaneous downshifts throughout the rev range, has been specially adapted to the characteristics of the V12 engine. With its optimal internal efficiency and a gear-change strategy assisted by navigation data, the eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission contributes to the authoritative driving experience and works seamlessly with the standard Auto Start Stop function.
The iDrive system also features the gesture control system presented in the BMW 7 Series for the first time. Hand movements detected by a 3D sensor control infotainment functions in an extremely intuitive and user-friendly fashion. The gestures can be used for a number of functions, including controlling the volume in audio applications and accepting or rejecting incoming telephone calls. There is also the option of pairing a specific gesture with an individual choice of function. Also joining the fray is a new smartphone holder integrated into the centre console, which enables wireless, inductive charging for mobile phones for the first time in a car.

As the radio announcers impersonated Kate's NOK, I dont think the nurse was breaking confidentiality. The announcers did the wrong thing. Nevertheless, the female announcer said that she didn't want the nurses' voices to be identified and the radio station tried to get permission from the hospital to broadcast the audio, but even without permission, they put it all on air. 2Day Fm are absolute fuckwits, to be honest. They should be shut down and prosecuted for this. Hope they were..

All you commenters vilifying the radio hosts for someone else's death, if no one had killed themselves you wouldn't have complained about the prank. In fact it wouldn't have even occurred to you that someone could kill themselves over something like this. You blame them as if you knew that this was a likely consequence, as if people regularly kill themselves over pranks every day or something. Give me a break 🙄. It was very unfortunate what happened, but how were they to know that? It's easy to say "they shouldn't have done it" AFTER it happened. Prank calls are not an uncommon pastime for radio hosts. They do it for entertainment purposes and people don't normally kill themselves just because they were on the receiving end. If Jacinda killed herself over this, then the other nurse should have killed herself 5 times over as she was the one who actually divulged private information! But she didn't. You can talk all you want about whether or not the prank call itself was funny or witty, but that's neither here nor there.

Exactly! The dramatic comments are ridiculous.. "Murderers", "Blood on their hands", "They should've been jailed".. Nurse Jacintha obviously had other problems that caused her to end it all, very sad.. But you're right, it's not the hosts fault. ✌️

I once watched my asian neighbor try to park her car. Usually she would park next to another car in the parking lot, which would help guide her into the spot. On this day the lot was empty and she proceeded to try to park between the lines of a head in parking spot. She pulled in and backed up for almost 10 minutes trying to end up between the lines. She straddled the line every time and eventually just gave up and took up two spots.

I’m sorry for the loss but I just can’t put much fault on the DJ comedians. They’re clowns. They just want to make a good laugh. They didn’t even expect to be successfully patched through. They thought the nurses would just sigh in annoyance and hang up on them.

Just to be clear the nurse who committed suiced was NOT the nurse talking to the Queen about Kate, it was the Nurse on reception who answered the phone who put the call through at the very beginning of the prank- Saldanha, a mother of two, was found hanged, and with cuts to her wrists, at the hospital nurses' accommodation on 7 December 2012, three days after Sydney's 2Day FM radio station made the 5.30am call, which she had transferred, believing it to be a call from the Queen. The conversation that the two DJs, Mel Greig and Mike Christian, subsequently had with the second nurse about the duchess's medical condition was broadcast by the station.
