If a doctor is watching this I hope they can answer my question. I recently had my 4th colonoscopy over a 20 year period, my 10th time under anesthesia. For the first time I vomited during a procedure and woke up with a horrible sore throat. The post op nurse just said “You vomited. There’s nothing we can give you for that.” Then they couldn’t wait to get me out of there. I was concerned because my son vomited and aspirated during a colonoscopy and ended up in the hospital with aspiration pneumonia. The severe sore throat and tons of mucous lasted for days gut fortunately my lungs were OK. My question is - in the surgeons clinical notes they only said everything went well. Shouldn’t they have added that I vomited during the procedure?

I was never a migraine sufferer but I experienced a 'migraine ' that was so intense and uncharacteristically 'me' that I knew, that after a few days of pain, something was wrong. After a self-refereed MRI, I found that I had a carotid dissection. I am still recovering and after 6 weeks I am still exhausted after a half hour venture to a shopping centre or activity outside. I have also lost my sense of taste due to damage to nerves leading to the sublingual area. I'm praying that I 'get there' but I have a feeling at this moment that this may be a life changing experience that I just have to accept.

I am a survivor from Subarachnoid Brain Hemorrhage in 2023 like her i have 2 Anuerysm the saccular 7.9 raptured and prior i really dont have any symptoms its just a sudden pain like somebody hit me at the back of my head with a baseball bat and the rest is a history i passed out this happened at work and almost end of my shift. I was rushed to the Nuero Science Hospital and in the ICU and undergo coiling and stent.

She was my surgeon, I can't say enough good things about her. She did a wonderful job, and explained everything before & after my surgery. She's easy to talk to, knowledgeable, and kind. Highly recommend.

Blood pressure should be measured on the unaffected side (in this case the BP cuff should be on the left side since she's having right sided weakness)

What I will never understand is how I was taken off the gurney and put into the recliner in the recovery room!

Here in the UK you are not anaesthetised for a colonoscopy. You can have sedation if you wish, or gas and air is available. I am having one soon and I will be able to watch it on a monitor, which I think is very interesting. It's my body, I want to see what it looks like from the inside!

This is pretty much exactly how mine went.

Just had mine two days ago. The worst part was that godawful tasting Suprep and having to drink a liter of water chaser.

There should be screening programs for those with family history of cerebrovascular conditions.

If you had cancer. And bd tests says it’s an infection. Could the body think that cancer is an infection? How would you trace cancer? If this is the case?

I am glad, you are ok❤ It sounds related to SCAD heart attack, spontanious dissection, which often happens to women with migraines. That happened to me, is treated with betablockers and bloodthinners. Often related to Fibromuscular dysplasia, weak bloodwessels. Just a thought.

It was an 8 but now it’s a 5 my whole body is feeling better.
