This is great. I went to the smartweigh website. They have 3 ... yup, 3 locations nationwide. And one of them is temporarily closed. I'm in California, I'm not driving to Texas just to check my four axles. I'll stick to my Cat scale 5 miles away, thank you very much.

You are wrong ! Cat Scale are just few scales that estimate very close weight per axle. Does not matter if is a car, truck, rv, etc.... Your claims are non sense and motivated by advertisement. What a shame, making money at the cost of misinformation ! If A truck driver load the truck unbalanced Cat scale will not tell him. Its about common sense. RV are design with balance in mind. For example kitchen on the right and Slide on the left.

Pretty crazy that you brought your cat

I am going to burning man for the fourth time this year but the first time with my own vehicle. Do you have any advice on how to protect my car as much as possible. I am the most worried about the under carriage and engine area. I feel confident on sealing up my windows and vents. I am also covering the inside with tarps and plastic.

You have some great ideas! Love the idea of measuring the side distance with the bay doors. I’m going to try that. Don’t listen to people who say things about cat hair, they ought to mind their own business! They obviously don’t have pets. Safe travels!

Maybe I missed it, but it didn't say WHY not to use CAT scales with the EXCEPTION of each individual wheel......also, what about states' scales on the side of the road that they keep open?

totally agree the side cams are mostly useless. occasionally they can help mostly at night.

1) Your video provided ZERO information about how to find a smartweigh location. So it's nearly worthless to begin with. 2) You described using a Catscale as "an absolutely horrible idea for RVs." This is dead wrong, irresponsible and based on ignorance. A) Catscales are everywhere. Over 2,000 locations across the country. Easy to use their web site to find one. The cost is around $13 for the first weigh and less for a reweigh. B) Catscales verify if you are legal, providing data on axle weights, vehicle weights and combined vehicle weights to compare with ratings on your truck and trailer. C) Catscales can allow you to calculate both the tongue weight and total weight of a trailer. This is important info for stability and safety. D) Catscales can help to determine if your weight distribution hitch is correctly adjusted. E) Catscales are certified accurate and guaranteed. Can Smartweigh say that? Don't let perfect be the enemy of good. Pull into a catscale and weigh your rig. If you have reason to believe your load may be offcenter, spend a couple more bucks and weigh each side separately. Forget what Stuart says.

I never heard of the smart weight. When I do get my RV I’ll definitely get a weight and assessment done with smart weight. I definitely want to know before I begin my Rv journey if I’m within weight ratings.

If you have access, within 200 miles of anything better than Cat scales, I'd pay for this more detailed method for sure.

Do you need a class B liscence to drive the Super C Entegra Accolade???

Really nice and thorough review. Yes !!! The kitchen counter space...do people even cook ? Our old Fleetwood Icon Sprinter RV has more kitchen counter space than many Super C's. I still don't get why not one Super C manufacturer doesn't take advantage of the space behind the rear wheels for an extra large storage bay.

Here in Mich. you need a certified weigh ticket to get your permanent license plate for your small trailer. Oh I’m a retired o.t.R. driver in to cat scales by my house all the time and I asked. They are happy to do small trailers.

I'm not sure if this is your first time having Cummins Diesel , but take my advise from a old trucker ok . I been trucking over 30 years and always drive a Dodge truck with a Cummins . About 2 years ago my co worker tells me that he has over 700,000 miles on his truck and never did any repairs to his motor , he bought his truck in 2008 , brand new Dodge with a Cummins . All I can say is the Cummins like to be pamper and if you do that the Cummins will last you more than a life time . My co worker and me always use synthetic oil , change the air filter every 2nd oil change . This is very important to do , every 2nd oil change you must find your fuel pump , if you don't know where it is , go to a diesel repair shop and get them to show you and get them to show how to drain the moisture from the fuel pump . If you do this , you can screw up your fuel pump and to replace it would cost over $ 5,000.00 to repair it .
