    I can really relate to this. After I left Evangelicalism I went over to the New Age. It was a few very close shaves where I could have also ended up in a cult. I'm so glad this didn't happen, but it could have happened.

      I'm so glad you didn't end up in a cult! It's interesting how our minds work after being in an all-consuming group, isn't it? If you don't mind sharing, I'd love to know if you remember what it was that stopped you... was it a particular thought or feeling, or more of a "this feels too familiar, and no way am I doing THAT again"?
