cam position censor connector was swapped with the coil pack connector
This seems like my application. Have the same engine stock in a '14 Taco single cab with a 5 speed manual. Took it racing and it just died 20 odd kms from the finish line. Won't crank, and lots of evidence of blow by from the oil cap. Yet to investigate, but what do you reckon I could do to it for sustained high rpm 4x4 racing?
I blew this motor 1 week after the dyno. (Cracked all 4 piston ring edges) I rebuilt with forged rods and pistons this year and have yet to dyno the new motor. The goal for this car is baja 500, so there is a lot of sustained loads and high rpms.
@@johnstidham1256 ouch.. that's actually really helpful. That's exactly the application I have, Baja 500. So what strengthening mods would you recommend as I have a desert race coming up
@shaazy we went with custom traum pistons to handle the boost. LCE valvetrain and H beam rods. Thats all she needs for a reliable 300hp
@@johnstidham1256 Got it. Thanks for the tips! When you cracked the piston ring edges, did you have to rebore the cylinders? Also, how did it blow exactly? Mine started losing power along the way from 100 to 80 to 60 and then at 40 I let go of throttle and it died and never started back up.
@@johnstidham1256Mine is stock btw, what engine oil do you reckon I should run? That last blow was just the balance shaft. Ive now added a balance shaft delete. There was some scouring on the crankshaft bearing but other than that everything else looked pretty neat and clean inside.

did you try the firing order? an make shur its getting gas to the rails? theres also a button in the rear of the car that turns the gas off an on
