Am amaze at the quality of the costumes back then..beautiful.
This one captured that magnificent George Bailey costume "Beauty in Perpetuity". Around the 10sec mark.
Those were the days when we wore costumes that depicted something. Band leaders such as George Bailey, and others had IDEAS. They became giants in their ART.

Man! this is one of the most beautiful videos of this era I have seen. I wish I could find out more about those marvelous sailors and who created their costumes.

*** The sailor costumes depicted America's involvement in the war. Possibly the Tribal Wars I and II. Then the Korean war followed by the Vietnam years, etc. In that era, only journalists and tourists had cameras. I do not know how much forward thinking was given towards saving the Treasures of Carnival. All I have are memories of fantastic costumes and sunshine. The Lord of the Sun never failed us on those two days.

I was a teenager and my brother was playing in a band with the alphabet and he was the s for ship and it was so pretty down to the blue velvet at the bottom representing the ocean.
