John the Baptist
John is a fascinating character - a link between the Old and New Testaments. He's been portrayed recently on Fox Nation and in The Chosen ... but what do we really know about him? And what sort of responsible speculation about him might be true?

King Herod and the Death Penalty
มุมมอง 72หลายเดือนก่อน
Christmas - a time of peace and joy. And the time when we think of King Herod murdering the baby boys in Bethlehem. And due to President Biden's choices this past week, we think of the death penalty. Not very Christmasy, but very important.

This Christmas Classic is beloved by many. Today we'll hear from Pastor Michael Eckelkamp about how he not only loves it, but how it changed his life. 5th Commandment: Murder
มุมมอง 672 หลายเดือนก่อน
The 5th Commandment, regarding the deliberate immoral taking of another human life, is vital for society to function well. God imposes the most severe penalty for violating this commandment. We'll see that much of the hurt and anger in our culture is due to the way we have legalized the violation of this commandment. And we'll hear about how Christians have taken heed of this commandment over t...

I have started to see clips on The Saints, but not for sure where it's at. Maybe another good topic.
With all the festivals and growing up and playing with cousins, I'm sure they played and knew each other. Great talk.
The witch-hunt(s) that followed the January 6 protest (characterized as a Trump-led "insurrection") resulted in a large number of injustices being done against people who may have - at the very worst - been trespassing in the Capitol building (a building that belongs to the people which begs the question "how can one trespass on their own property"?). No justice was served on the D.C. police officer who murdered one of the "insurrectionists" who was herself unarmed. He was whisked away into the "deep state" and hidden away from prying eyes of those who would seek justice. You note that 14 sentences were commuted, not "forgiven" which tells me that the new President must agree with the "justice" served on them. As for Biden's pre-emptive pardons, egregious as they are, the only reason there weren't more of them, is because his handlers (Obama et. al) simply ran out of time.
"and other authorities"?
In addition, just check out the playlist of over 100 plus past shows. Great time for a review. Thanks for putting these all together. Go bluebirds.😂
Happy New Year. Good to have you back. Hi to the new subscribers. Still have lots of room.
Biden is acting as if he is GOD. Commuting a death sentence of criminals who murdered policemen is beyond the pale and certainly beyond the legitimate scope of a sitting President. This to me shows how evil Biden and his handler(s) really are. He didn't commute the murder in Massachusetts (Boston Marathon bomber) because Massachusetts is a blue State and he didn't want the blowback. Hypocrisy at its finest.
🎉 Merry Christmas 🎉
Thanks for reminding us of the countries around all this.
Paul was a liar, and he was contradicting the words of God. God did not setup any secular government, read 1 Samuel 8.

Thanks for this podcast! It was a reminder to me on how our country was formed.
Absolutely! MAY WE BE WORTHY OF "GOD BLESS AMERICA"
Good Stuff. Paul's almost-persecution (stoning?) in Corinth reminds me of Pontius Pilate's first response when Jesus was brought before him. Gallio found no reason to "try" Jesus under Roman law.

I think there are certain people who will only do "evil" to this country. Their track record supports this. Their comments and failure to answer straight-forward questions without blaming others for their shortcomings are further evidence they are not the best person for the job. To NOT pray for a particular candidate to be elected seems to me to be a failure on my part to DO my part to prevent evil and guarantee more failure for our country.

The sick leave is an invitation to reduced productivity. It is subject to abuse and fraud. Many employers offer personal leave instead to reduce sick leave fraud. Money is only earned or wealth created by work. So to get paid leave of any kind, a small part of what wealth is generated working needs to be held back and then used for pay on days not worked. So an employee could already set aside a small percentage of pay each week into a personal savings account to pay oneself on sick days. Then you have an incentive to show up to work so you can used that saved money for something else. If you employer sets money aside to pay sick leave then you need to get sick or fake sick to get those funds. Seem a bad incentive. The employer holds back money to give vacation pay. Vacation days are an attraction in a competitive job offer and you are guaranteed to get the money they hold back to pay you on those days as you will get leave to use as you wish. The time away from work can be regenerative and increase your productivity upon return. People tend to forget that money/wealth is created by work.
But it is pretty minimal leave so the only serious downside is regulatory compliance costs.

I think the old method of voting - (election DAY) - had more importance/significance and avoided the issue of "election fraud" that now permeates elections - especially on the Federal level. The last Presidential election process instilled a deep skepticism about the integrity of our voting process. That is an extremely dangerous thing for a Republic. If citizens cannot trust the voting process - they often decide not to vote at all. I.E. "what's the use? My vote no longer counts - assuming they even count it."

The shroud is a hoax. It's been proven to be from between 1260 and 1390.
Where did they find the shroud? Have they found other textiles during this time period? Is the fabric fragile? Is the shroud made of linen?
The shroud has disappeared (been lost? been spirited away for safe-keeping?) a few times. There were other shrouds over the years, but they've all been generally rejected as the real deal. The fabric is fragile (2000? years old). It has a variety of fabrics and residues from Jerusalem and other areas where it has been stored in it.
@@EaglesOnTheHill Thank you for your sincerity in sharing what you've learned. It can be said that 'the Shroud was first found on Easter morning, by Peter and John.'

did this miracle occur before or after Jesus' physical death? I am reading conflicting accounts as to the "timing".
If you're speaking of Jesus' miracle of calming the storms, all of the times recorded in the gospels are prior to His physical death.

I think you called it in a previous podcast - Hamas doesn't WANT peace. They want the extinction of Israel. The Biden administration acts as a weathervane. Whatever direction "public" opinion blows, Biden and company follow. (as long as that "wind" has a far-left direction associated with it). "All we are saying....is give peace a chance" (Lennon/Ono) is a wonderful thought. The devil is in the details. And one of the details is NOT "from the river to the sea" we hear chanted on college campuses these days. A major part of the problem (here in the USA) is Biden is NOT surrounded by thoughtful, knowledgeable people such as the Pastor here. His cronies are go-along-to-get-along. Look where that naive attitude got Neville Chamberlain (and the World).
There has been an insidious movement over the past many many decades that have moved us (the Nation) farther away from observing the Sabbath. When I was a wee boy, no business was open on Sunday save for gas stations to aid travelers in their journey. Today, it's almost unheard of for ANY business to close its doors on Sunday. The two big exceptions being Chick-fil-A and Hobby Lobby - both of which have been denigrated for their "beliefs" (usually having something to do with "LGB" propaganda). Very sad.
Which to read first..... look interesting.
