Secret recipe kydex hard leather. Secret = 45% beeswax, 45% carbuba wax, 10% rosin. I don't know how well it will hold up over a long time.

That's not an SRK. Terrible review.
GSM/Cold Steel screwed up with this one. They should have made the Master Hunter with Aus10 steel and not laminated. Aus10 has edge holding of Vg10 but is tougher. And less expensive to produce.
3V version is the way to go on this one. VG10 should be discontinued.
I wish they made this a drop point. Kudos. I like this mod. Do you think the tip strength lessened by grinding down?
No, its a very tough knife before and after
@dmitryk754 cool. I'd like to attempt the reprofiling of the tip but I only have files and a dremel. Is that good enough or do I need a belt sander?
Did you measure weight(s) before & after? How is the balance know? I have the Fighter and find it to be handle heavy as well, I am thinking about lightening as well. Possibly just swiss cheese holes?
I love this modification, this is perfect to me, well done...
I prefer this. Very cool
yeah man, i also buy both of them ❤❤❤
I like that flat grind. Well done
Looks like a larger falkniven f1
You should just bought the fighter
Damn brother. Taste is subjective and all that, but you took one of the most versatile outdoor blade styles and turned it intk another standard fighter-esque drop point. As a Nessmuk lover this hurts. Still, I have to give you props on the execution. Grind job was clean
I know it’s sacrilegious 😂
Cool knife 👍👍
Great job...big improvement in looks and I’m sure performance. I ground the Nessmuk hump off a few of my Bark River knives over the years...Aurora Hunter and a Kalahari. Interested in knowing how you balanced the blade? I ruined a few tools trying to lighten or balance A2 & 3V steel. I just ordered the Spartan Fighter. Kind of envision it stripped, patina’d with a polished convexed bevel and swedge.
I found that replacing my handle scales to wood and aluminum pins worked well in my 3V blade. Luckily the A2 blade already had a lightening hole that just needed enlarged.
I used a small wheel (2in) on 2x72. With that tool it’s not too bad but the benefit is somewhat insufficient. Taking that epoxy off is a dirty chore but I also like the gray finish it leaves quite a bit. There is an interesting machine finishing under it too you have to be ready for.
nice...i think i would have "edged" that hump at first, just to check it out...im funny that way tho....
Kind of had my mind set on a gentle drop 😂 looks ok but still a little awkward to use after all this
@@dmitryk754 i think it looks pretty good....better than original...
Very nice. I got my AA Forge Mutt today, and I got a JRE leather dangler for it. Yours looks nicer!
He makes great knives
@@dmitryk754 Yes he does!!!
I now it’s flat and not convex, but it reminded me of the fall knives f1 as soon as you removed it from the sheath. It looks very cool and would be interesting to see how it performs vs the original blade. Would this not mess with the heat treatment?
It’s convex actually, I misspoke. Does not effect heat treatment really, small grinding with water spray on.
Sooo beautiful! In my opinion. :) Greetings!
Thank you !
Nice,I still love mine as it is,I do however have a patina that looks like your blade there from dipping in vinegar on my 140,my 110,kinda is getting there I did it to clean them from a small amount of rust,an then I coated them with frog lube,so far no rusting issues an knives are awesome, I have a strong tad thinner knife for precision cuts for like notches, I mostly use my pukkos for harder tasks.
It’s really ideal as is. This was mostly just for fun.
@@DKnives ,mine was at first until I saw how tough they were,an best fir me starting out,an now I have several Bush tools as well as a new bushcraft knife good all around food prep tool too.
Very nice job
Nice finish on the blade 👍🏻. We've never seen this kind of modification published before.
Very, very nice
