Hey is this really 50 cent tour

I’ve had to rearrange my schedule. I used sleep til I woke up about 8:30 and lounge around in bed for another 30 minutes or more if I didn’t have to be anywhere, going to take daddy to cardio-rehab exercise from 10:30am til 12:15pm three days a week, and then daily taking him a hot meal for the mid afternoon, many nights after eating supper and unwinding with my husband for an hour or so, I wold go back to see daddy about 7pm to watch some Braves baseball, and wash his dishes. Then go home and stay up til midnight, enjoying my late night hours of just me. Now, I’m getting up at 6:30am and heading towards the nursing home about 7:00am to assist daddy to rinse his mouth with listerine before his breakfast comes, being his “sous chef” to add grape jelly to his toast, butter and salt, to his eggs and grits or cream of wheat. Or if we have ordered Oatmeal there’s cinnamon sugar, salt, butter to add to make it taste just right. Assisting to open his milk carton, and juice and such. After breakfast there’s the encouragement for him to get up out of bed to try to walk to the sink and brush his teeth. Me adding the toothpaste to his toothbrush, and helping him every step, with a rolling Walker, as he returns to bed. Rushing out the door this Sunday morning leaving the nursing home at 9:15 to return home for another quick shower and eat some breakfast before 10:15am church service. Leaving church at 11:20am and returning directly to the nursing home to assist daddy with his lunch. Today by 11:30am he had his food tray but readily accepted my assistance to put sugar in his tea and add salt and butter to his food. After that there was dessert, and then we struggled to get out of bed and walk to the bathroom for me to assist him again with brushing his teeth. This time I convinced him to get in a wheelchair so I could roll him around the nursing home for a twenty minute stroll. We went down to the room where my momma used to meet us at the window and we had to stand outside during the Covid pandemic shutdown. This time we were on the inside and reminiscing about momma. And me ignoring my sinus issues ….. I spontaneously started to sing. You are my sunshine to my daddy. Today was the only day he has chosen to get up for a few minutes out of bed into a wheelchair to leave the bed. The other days he only does it for physical therapy time. Within 20 minutes he was ready to return to bed. I tucked him back in bed by 1:10pm and knew he would be sleeping soon, so I told him I was going to head home and grab a nap too and I’ll be back to help him at supper time.

That breaks my heart. God bless you and your dad.

Sandra, I read most of this, and it was difficult to even imagine. I am very thankful he didn't break a hip or a bone in his fall. I am also thankful that you could help him stand to shave, which means he still has use of his legs. God is good. He protected Jerry from worse things which could have happened. Encourage him to Wear his Life Alert. Baxter's mom had hers for at least 12-15 years. She Wore hers, but when she fell and broke her femur near her hip didn't even use her Life Alert. She did what your dad did, pulled the phone down by the cord, and called her daughter who lived about 20 miles away to come clean her up before she would let her call 911. Some folks are tough even when they are up in years. I think she was 89 yo when she fell, but she was nearly 99 when she passed away. Jerry is one of the strong ones. God has blessed him!!❤

D'Olive is "dough-leave"?!?!? Wow... way to know I'm from out of town! Ha! Also, I have always felt so weird driving the square while trying to maintain a single lane because everyone else considers the lanes fluid and do not treat them as individual lanes. I figured that made my out-of-state tags obvious because I maintained a lane and used turn signals on the square.

Now this is a great funny video for the out of town folks But for locals I love it
