G'day Steve, was good watching these videos, reminded me of our visit there in 2010. Still have a few trees I bought off you back then.
Wild koala is the best‼
Thanks for sharing this video
I was there too - I still have the handbill advertising it.
I was there and loved all the music and all the freedom. I remember some guy walking around with a candle and he was naked. Great time there
Superb
Yes I went there too - was amazing
Oh this is SUCH a fabulous clip. My dad played at Ourimbah festival.. I used to have the original poster on my wall as I grew up fascinated by my father. It’s so weird cause now I’m watching it thinking how much it reminds me of all us ferrals & hippies at our bush doof’s.. different but same vibe when I’ve seen footage of us back then. But man this just captures the scene so beautifully, it’s so weird now to think of my dad who we think is in the vid being so young. For so long he WAS that young to me. Thanks for sharing this, really cool man. .. love the track 🎶 too. 💞
I went to my first bush Rave on The Central Coast in 1995 iIt was on Farm near Mangrove Mountain and few doofs after that in the Hills above Wyong, then Summer Dreaming down in the Valley below Peats Ridge, Then The Peats Ridge Festival itself, it’s a beautiful part of the world for music festivals and doofs.
I was there it rained everyone got soaked and covered in mud also the cops were a pain in the arse.
Do you know who took this movie? I know one of the people shown in it.
I was there with my 18 month old son. We had a great time. He even got his picture in the paper with a friend, which luckily I have a copy of.
But you're not meant to be climbing Uluru!
I am lucky to know Steve and his wife and had a conversation yesterday . They are our fortune in our town, Steve , his wife Robyn and others amazing people living in warragul. They are full of knowledge of plants and our environments. Maybe you will see Steve when you are shopping and please stop to say hello
hes full of wisdom
It was hot my mate Fred was badly sunburnt on his face, my girlfriend and I shared a single sleeping bag, we were all 16 year olds.
Grew up there. Still lots of good people live there. Strong community
Beautiful ❤️
🌴☀️
Oooof

I was there. Love Nutwood Rug
I was there too, with my lady. What a great weekend!! And thanks for your Taylor Square reminiscences, I was there too!
very quiet there?
Sunday in Tennant Creek you will be lucky to see someone because no one comes out really on Sunday everything is closed and people don't work on Sunday not much to out for so it's a ghost town on Sundays
I was there with my daughter who was three
I was there with two friends . Caught the train from Hornsby . only 14 years old .
Very cool. The tram is still there. I was a kid of 6 years old.
Hey James, Your Mum, Barbara, and Dad, Jim owned the property and you had another brother, and sister, from memory. I did the lighting for Fairlight 2 held at Easter in April 1971 there, and last saw your Mum when she was working in Sydney in the rag trade. Then lost track of her and you. Yes, I visited the spot where the tram was, and it's still there, but the house near the highway is gone, and as you know the property is now owned by the Govt.
I only just discovered this event. Can someone pinpoint its location at Ourimbah pls ?
Hi there Doctor, You know the Ourimbah Rock Festival was only held just once. I think it would have been 1972, and it was held on a property just off Enterprise Drive (as you're heading to Tuggerah from Ourimbah on the right-hand side) owned by an ex-military (Australian Army) Major Nichols, who was also a teacher at Gosford High School. I think his son had a lot do with influencing his father to hold the event. As it was not long after Woodstock. I went there on the Saturday night and can't remember a great deal, due to various reasons. But I do recall it was something out of the ordinary, seeing and hearing the bands play into the early hours of Sunday morning...the smell of aaahhhh, you know. People walking around like they were on mars etc. Anyway, if you fire up Google Earth and enter these co-ordinates, you'll get pretty close to where it was held. Go to Ourimbah N.S.W. and move your mouse around until you see ... 33 deg 20'21.04"S 151 deg 23'49.32"E .. head from Ourimbah towards Tuggerah on Enterprise Dr. a couple of Ks and keep your eye on the co-ordinate display on bottom R/H side of screen. Good Luck.
Thanks very much loutondacoast, thats not where I had imagined it would be. From any and all photo's i'd found etc, the area seemed much flatter, closer to the Ourimbah University or South of there. Are you sure of those coordinates, as the Ourimbah creek is on the other side of Enterprise Drive and the Land is much flatter over there and still mostly open fields. Perhaps the new road (Enterprise Drive ) throws out your bearings a little ? I moved to the coast in 1977 and Old Chittaway rd was the main road, but there was also a dirt road parallel to the NW, other side of the tracks, i drove all the way along this back in 1985 or thereabouts, its now behind locked gates.. Thanks heaps for the info !!!
DOCWHOK9 Doc...the land was sort of flat where the main stage was, but the surrounding area was a gentle slope up towards the bush.(have a look at the clip where the tents and cars are)....I don't recall any creek or water way, probably cause we were there in the pitch black. You're possibly right about Enterprise Dr. and it was called from memory Old Chittaway Rd., back then, with a different route. I do know we had to head towards Chittaway after crossing the rail line at Ourimbah....then a few k's( miles maybe) and then when we found the sign, had to turn right, into a property, up a slight slope and then down into a sort of cleared area with hills behind, were the camping area was. Anyway if you really want to find where it was precisely, I'd suggest you go to Gosford Council and try to find where Major Nichols(Nichols farm) was located. I'm sure they would have those records archived. Oh, if you look at the clip again, you'll see, as I said, people walking around like Martians. Good luck Doc and pls let me know how you got on...I'd be interested !!!
Cool, thanks again, your desciption sounds tight, i've got a little Bushwalking to do up in that area soon. Theres a lot of flat ground off Peach Orchid rd also, with quite a few little creeks and dams that could of silted up over the decades. I'll post up what I find.
DOCWHOK9.......Doc, you won't believe what I have found ! An old newspaper clip that I have taken a shot of years ago. Unfortunately it is quite blurred, but if you have a look, you can just make out some of the text. The festival was held Jan 1970 at lieutenant-colonel Nicholls farm(not Major) as I said. I have made a little clip and posted it on youtube, probably just type in Ourimbah Pop Festival 1970 and you'll find it. Also I have just remembered somebody that was there, and I am sure she will know exactly where that property was located. Anyway check out the clip and I'll get back if I find out more. You've got me interested also.
I fully agree, Very cool clip and a rare piece of Australian Rock History. Thanks for uploading!
I was there man
Very cool...
