Check out the new "photovoltaic panels". These things create electricity SAFELY, and at a fraction of the cost of nuclear. The entire USA is adopting these "solar panels"!

Yes please!!! This needs to be our future! Nuclear is already the single most safe energy solution. Well, so long as Soviet era politicians and apparatchiks aren't involved! The climate change debate is a political one and it's about power in the hands of the ruling elite. However, we still need to be smart and use technology to the absolute best possible. This is one of many ways we must do it. It doesn't solve transportation which uses the most energy but, this is great for all other forms! Technology, imagination and the human spirit, which can not be bound, is how we face out challenges in the future. The single worst way...is to put these decisions in the hands of governments and politicians!
And world does not have enough nuclear material for that to go on.
Now add redundant safety measures and you got the perfect reactor! I have an idea: there is a tank fill of xenon-135? That is protected by a stopper that melts at a high temperature and poisons the reactor. It might seem counterintuitive but better safe than sorry!

Woooo I cant wait for nuclear technology to proliferate! There's literally nothing that could possibly go wrong by increasing the amount of reactors in the world and the amount of easily accessible technology!! Humans are trustworthy and act perfectly all the time!
This all looks very over complicated? Wouldn't it be easier to make the fuel as pellets and encase them in ceramic jacket. THen all have to do is crack em open to get the spent fuel out.
You are correct on all points. The biggest issue we ran into was that we had no clue how thick the bottom base was. The printer shown is 160 pro by x1. That printer would deviate during the print in random spots and random deviations. Add on that we couldn't actually get a true thickness measurement from a green state to a fully dentsified state. There was a plethora of other issues too, but the thickness issue and non breeder reactor design made the part to what it was.

Ridiculous, cherry-picking argument. Economy of small scale is, as you certainly know, not referring to production quantity but to output capability. In all engineering, there is an economy gained at the right scale, a spec derived from the use plan. Exceeding that specification is waste. Duh.

What is not mentioned that Helium gas can be hard to contain and what happens if that leaks. The technology might be safe as in the design, but humans through greed/incompetence/war/terrorism is not safe.
