Could The Be A Chupacabra!!! th-cam.com/video/J-9lSoXtyCk/w-d-xo.html
for a new to 990, how much time should I expect this to take? Thank you! My dirt bikes and the 690 are piece of cake compared to this one :) Cheers
I'm curious about the 1/2" wrench.
Billy Squire Rush part one had better music. Lol thanks for this info👍🏻
OmG it took me long to understand your part1.2.3 titles are in wrong order :) part2 -1 are confused. If you want to watch the proper order is 2-1-3. Maybe you can correct that...
He lost my viewership when he started the video halfway through the process
Maybe the best title for this would have been - “How to put new oil in your KTM”, because this doesn’t show an oil change, it shows half of it. Worthless.
It still gets the point across but yea.
Great video. Thanks. Can you make one doing a valve adjustment?
Thanks really usefull!
How in the name of God can an adventure bike have such a complicated oil change procedure?
I guess because it has a good dry-sump lubrication system.
There is no need to remove the tank boyz :-)
kalis , how can you do that ?
Ive done that. Acces to top oil tank bolt is possibile w/o remove the tank. The rest is piece of cake.
@@kalis4110 but I have to remove the fairings on the left side? Because I have to remove the crash bar guards
Anton Silvestri I have no crasch bars. Go on your knee unscrew the drain bolt from resewoir, next bolts for oil filter from the near, replace washer, filter etc. Fix it black.
There is no need to remove the tank !
quite possibly one of the stupidest videos ever made...sheesh
This is the proper procedure to change the oil apart from the fact that when you drain from the upper drain bolt ypu need to have the bike leaning on the side stand. I think yours was on the center stand.
17 secs was all it took ! "give your FOOT a rest!!"
Worst video ever
The video is OK, but it's not necessary to remove the fuel tanks to do an oil change. All the filters and screens can be removed, cleaned or replaced with the tanks in place.
Michael Palmer Michael Palmer that's not possible for checking the uper barrel screen (the one behind the oil hose right besides the upper drain bolt). The one that he puts in at around 6 mins in this clip.
Why didn't u drain all the oil?
brilliant video. explained well. you still go the Bike??
I can't believe that you got a clean new oil filter then dunked it in that mess of dirty oil and road grit in the drain pan and then stuck it in your engine!
Why would you pick up the video half way through the process?
Thank you very much! Very helpful
Best video so far for an oil change. Thanks
Muy bueno el tutorial. Me sirvió un montón gracias
thnx for teaching me!
great video, can you do a valve adjustment video? I cant seem to find anything on that procedure
Would you clean the oil tank filter and check ball valve every time? How much stuff was really on the oil tank filter? I see they have a permanent drain hose that replaces the drain plug for the oil tank and claim it is not necessary to clean the oil tank filter and check ball valve at every oil change. I have been thinking of starting to change my own oil now that the 950 is no longer under warranty. Any advice would be great!
yes I really wanted to see how you clean the screen......
yes it is. just search ktm 990 adventure cruise control for my install video.
Nice work on the video. Is that an audiovox cruise controller I see beneath the left hand mirror?
If you have crash bars on do you have to take them off?
yes, and it's a PIA! Make sure you turn the fuel lines off before removing the tank or you'll have a mess everywhere.
I have a 2011 KTM 990 Adv R and it is possibly the most complex oil change in the industry. Pull the skid plate BEFORE draining the case oil or you will have a mess. Not necessary to pull the gas tank. Unbolt the bottom of it, remove the top front skid plate mount casting and use a long small mouth funnel to drain the main oil tank. I've never found anything in the screen with ball check on the back of the oil tank. It's not worth all the trouble. Use all metric tools and Mobil 1 synthetic oil.
This is awesome. Thank you. I just did the oil change in my superduke. I don't know what all the fuss is about, it's really not that difficult/complicated and I save a small fortune this way.
Hi! I know it's been a while since you posted this. I'm riding a european version of this bike and trying to work out where what you name the vac hose actually fits to? I think that it just acts as an open overflow in my bike but when I loosened the tank this hose was kinked badly and not functioning. The right tank has the connector but no hose ?? Can you help with this ??? Thanks if you can. Cheers.
Wow! So it's almost true when I heard it takes two persons to change the oil on the KTMs. Thanks for the video bro! It's a hell of a great machine, but I guess I'll stick with a bike easier to maintain for long trips!
Thanks for posting this video series; you did a great job. I've heard how complicated it is; good to see it in person. My local dealer has some good prices on leftover 990 Adventures, but the maintenance is a deal-breaker for me.
@jprmovie It's not difficult. Not as easy as on the BMW boxer, but still not difficult. I do it in 10 minutes on my ninefiddy. I never trust anyone to work on my bike. The safety is to important to me!
You need a T10 Torx. 7:08 in the film recapitulates what tools You'll need.
Thank you, good video series, I'm lusting after an adventure, but have been scared by the complex maintenence, I've seen less complex brain surgery. Hopefully if I'm methodicl it'll be ok. Keep up the good work.
Great vids; just a pity you're not covering the changing of the spark plugs... I'm sort of stuck at the moment.
Is this a reliable bike? I keep hearing KTM's are not a reliable bikes .
Good grief! No wonder most KTM riders have the shop do it...
Thank you sir , might be able to do my own now.
BIG Thanks for this very instructional video, now I understand service prices of KTM. Got one year warranty left, after that I will do most of the service myself - will need to, to save some money! Merry Christmas!
thank you for posting this up. it made me more confident go ahead and do it meself..
Are the going 2 be firework this year @ pismo ?santa cruz and monterrey bay have been cancelled. An i want to take my kids 4 a nice time.
How much is cost the quad engine
hey, i got the same camera and i was just wondering what file extension you rendered this video to because the quality is better than i've gotten out of it on youtube. Also, which editing program did you use?
