Hey mark what hooks are you using?
363bl from troutbum.ca
Sharp looking fly thanka
Thanks! Great info
Excellent step by step..thanks for sharing that awesome technique. Adding this one to my repertoire
Thanks
Really cool method with the flashback and gills
Yeah that is a real nice touch to fly. Looks more natural.
@nexus2aron thank you
Nice one thanks
Thank You 🎉 🌟🎣💫
Old school dubbing packs! I dig it. Seal buggers are some of my favorites!
I really like that bug. I have yet to try a micro streamer. Forgive my odd inquiry here - if it rides hook point up, is the zonker tied on the “bottom” of the hook solely for ease? Do you find the pearlescent body shows through just fine without the zonker on the “top” of the hook?
That electric lighter (I think) trick looks priceless for cleaning up scraggly parts near the eye! Regarding dubbing the thorax prior to the Mylar being tied in, would you mind sharing why you prefer the wing case tied in after all the dubbing? I recognize much of tying is personal preference. It’s a great looking bug!
I like a bulky thorax. Often I will use a different dub for the thorax- peacock dub or feather
Beautiful tie.
Hi, Mr. Y! I like your chronimid! -Anubha
Кого ловить на такую нимфу?
Translation?
@@markyodogawa who to catch with such a nymph?
Trout
@@markyodogawa Thank you!🤝
Nice ties!! Those are the best ones i have seem on the whole internet!
Thanks!
Gotta love what Boeser did last night. This might be a 'clutch' fly too.
Looks like a winner just like Boeser and the Vancouver Canucks
Encore et toujours des magnifiques vidéo bravo
Nice and easy to follow thanks for sharing this video big like from me bud 🤝🇮🇪
Thanks!
How do you fish this fly?
Personally have not tried it yet. Hopefully someone can share that info. It is a dry hopper type pattern but I liked it for its bugginess. Have a friend who has caught fish with it both on surface and stripped.
@@markyodogawa thank you
That's a beauty. Nice textured shimmer to the body. I think I'll have to try a few of these. They'll look really nice in my fly box either way.
thanks very much Mark, just learnt something new; never thought of combining rib materials before, chuffed🤓
Awesome!
Good stuff ! I will tie some ! 🐟🐟🎣
Nice tie and good music choice Mark.
I agree👍
Awesome fly. I tied the exact same but i colored the butt red...
Looks very nice
Bela isca show de bola
goedemorgen vrind je loopt een beetje achter wij gebruiken dat model in verschillende kleuren al 45 jaar !! veel plezier!! Opa
This is a great looking fly! Gonna have to try it out this season. How you like to fish it?
Long leader dry line or intermediate clear in shallows and around weeds or with a faster sink coming up the drop offs
Nice bug!!!!🎉
Nice bugs Mark. I will have to give these a shot next time I get a chance to hit the bench.
What a beautiful looking fly!!
Thanks!
Very nice tie, just curious as to the thread burner and where to get it. 👍
Amazon Electric candle lighter
Great TH-cam channel mr yodogawa!
You did one awhile back you called a scruffy leech I was wondering what dubbing you used on that one? Thanks
Andrew Ellis Scruffy Dubbing
Awesome pattern, awesome tunes! Keep up the great work Mark, it’s a trip!
Thanks!!
Mark you’ve always had a superior eye for fly design and color realism to match the bugs!!! Now I am proud to see you’ve got the uv resin figured out! Too many fly Tyers these days get carried away with over applying the UV goo!!! The light coat so your rib isn’t lost with the bodkin application is the real deal for the best effect and control. Great job buddy. Keep up the fantastic work… you’re a positive inspiration to all your viewers.
Thanks John, appreciate the kind words
Awesome stuff. Hey what type of thread burner is that?
Just an electric candle lighter
Gonna attempt this one
I said let him cook 😡
What Dubbing?
Sorry, I missed this. Andrew Ellis Scruffy Dubbing
Just have to figure out how to get it Thanks@@markyodogawa

Hahaha! The intro was funny!😂😂😂
Hi Mr. Yodagawa! I was just using my ipad and I saw your post come up! -Anubha
Neat simple tie. Fixed the background noise by putting volumn control to zero.
Yeah that wasn’t the best choice of music lol
Interesting way to mute the flash of the wire rib. Over all nice bug.
Yeah, just experimenting. Saw a tyer do it on a caddis or something and thought I would try it on a chironomid.
I will certainly use that tail technique, might be even easier with the mono straight up like a parapost to wrap it
Mark like your pattern thank you very much for explaining I just wonder I was thinking about the extended body cannot be made less diameter in pounds like a 15 lbs nylon and using flex coat instead of a hard coat what do you think about. let me know. Thank you very much. What I mean to say is that the extended body will be a bit flexible in the current that might attract of the trout. Thank you.
It could for sure but then it becomes more difficult to wrap thread around it. This fly is smaller tip to head than a dime. It is thinner than most chironomids I tie conventionally
The other option is tying on a shank (cuttting off the hook) then using mono to attach it close to the bead, like adding a trailer hook.
@@markyodogawa thanks for your reply. I will certainly consider this best regards
BRILLIANT! Absolutely, brilliant!
Thank you for the video. I’m wonder what size it is? Is that a Daichi 1760 size 14 with a 5/64 bead. Cheers.
I think that was a size 16 curved nymph from Troutbum.ca
200r
Beautiful!
Thanks
I like that. Might try that with a couple patterns I tie
