Great VR. I've never seen those cards before. Merry Christmas.
Thanks! I hope you had a great Christmas!
New sub. Best wishes. Merry Christmas!
Thanks! Merry Christmas.
Great video response, Mike! The pack and cards has kind of a folk art feel to them, very cool! Definitely, sexy cards, and I really appreciate the neat backstory, thanks for sharing! Early congrats on two years creating content- outstanding! I’m looking forward to seeing your card room and what you have in store for’25! Thanks for helping me celebrate my milestone by taking the time and effort to create such a thoughtful VR! Merry Christmas!
Thanks Rob. I didn't have time to re-do the "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOW" part unfortunately. LOL I hope you and Mrs. CC have a great Christmas.
@ stay in your lane! Just kidding!
Very cool! I’ve never seen the original Benchwarmer cards! The newer ones mostly have “relics” and some of them can get quite expensive. Looking forward to the card room tour!
Thanks Jim. Merry Christmas and see you at the card room tour!
Great sexy VR Mike! I am not familiar with the benchwarmer cards and enjoyed learning about them. It is too bad she did not profit from her idea. Looking forward to seeing your anniversary video. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Thanks Steve! Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Gave a video like. Great video response for Rob. Enjoyed hearing the story of how you came across them many years ago. Merry Christmas to you and yours. 🎉
Thanks Brian! Have a great Christmas!
Nice VR and what a crazy set!
Thanks MItchell. I bet the White Sox could use a few players like that. LOL
@; I’m not sure it would help.
Nice VR Mike! Good luck!
Thanks Scott. Merry Christmas and keep out of the snow!
Hey Mike, Merry Christmas to you and your wife. I think those cards meet the definition for the VR. She is a pretty lady for sure. I like the gum packaging too. That is unfortunate she got forced out. I look forward to your video on January 1. Take care
Thanks Terry. I hope you and your family have a very merry and safe Christmas.
Great response with a story. Nice, good Luck in the GAW!
Thanks, I appreciate it! Have a great Christmas!
Mike, I don't have any sexy cards either, but those Benchwarmer cards are very nice. LOL!! Merry Christmas, my friend!!
Thanks Rick! Have a very Merry Christmas!
Well done
Thank You my friend. Have a Merry Christmas in the land of the rising sun.
Pretty cool that you still have these cards from the time you met Connie…and the gum! First woman to start a card company is pretty impressive and a good idea. Too bad she made some bad decisions and lost it. Trading cards never looked so good indeed. Merry Christmas, Mike!
Hello Hugo
@ hi Ken!
Thanks Hugo! Have a very Merry Christmas!
Nice response buddy. Merry Christmas 🎅
Thanks Jesse! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Well done! I was not familiar with this product and I liked how you presented it. Merry Christmas.
Thanks Drew! Have a great Christmas.
Great VR Mike. Those Benchwarmer cards are sexy cards. Thanks for sharing. Enjoyed the story behind your purchase of the cards. Merry Christmas.
Thanks Ed! i hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas.
Awesome video Mike. Super story about Al Bumbry. Great interview that he gave. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Ed!
Super VR. It was Awesome Mike. Great cards and super music. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Ed! It was definitely a lot of fun to do.
Great report, Mike. Did not know Al served- which is kind of a shame. All vets in MLB should have the opportunity to wear a special patch on their uniform. Thanks for bringing it to light. Great auto! Good Collecting 👍❤️
Thanks Rob! Great idea about having them wear a patch showing they served!
Great video response, Mike 😄 Great monologue, music, and of course cards…and autos. The signed Satchel business card is a really cool piece!
Thanks Hugo! The signed Satchel Paige business card is one of my favorite autos.
Awesome video . Man those voices in our head 😂 are something else. Btw really cool cards too
Thanks Adam!
Gave a video like. Great hearing about Al Bumbry and watching his interview. Thanks for sharing, Mike
Thanks Brian! I really appreciate it!
I will forever look at Al Bumbry differently. Thank you for putting this together.
Thanks Drew! I had the same reaction.
Fantastic share of Al Bumbry! I only knew he served in the military and did not know much past that. Really cool to hear a more in depth about him. Love the 1984 Topps signed of him. Looks fantastic. He is a future spotlight guy for me down the road. Nice interview and hearing Bumbry. Enjoyed as always Mike.
Thanks Steve! Looking forward to your spotlight on him.
Al Bumbry! The Bee 🐝 Excellent video Mike.
Thanks Ed! Al was a solid player and a great American. Seems like a real nice person too.
Hi Mike, I like that you featured a player from the Vietnam War. Unfortunately, it is a war many Americans want to forgot, but that doesn’t mean the solders, Marines, airmen and sailors who served in it should be held in any less regard. They made sacrificed and exhibited bravery just as those who fought in other wars. The signature looks great on the 84 Topps college. Thank you for your service Al Bumbry. Nice video, Mike.
Thanks Terry. I think it's important to study all parts of history, no matter how popular or unpopular, and learn from it. Our soldiers sacrifice, sometimes the ultimate sacrifice, for this country and we should never take that for granted. Thanks as always my friend for supporting my channel.
Great profile and example of selfless service. Great interview at the end. I always loved watching Al Bumbry...still have all his Topps cards.
Thanks Hammer! I Appreciate your comments.
Great choice of music, as usual, Mike. Thanks for teaching me about Al. He was younger than my son when he led that tank unit. Insane.
It's amazing how young some of these soldiers are and how much responsibility they're given at such a young age. It's no wonder that a fairly simple game like baseball was not tough for Al when he got back from that hectic war. Thanks for watching and commenting Gordon. Your support is always appreciated my friend.
sweet profile , TY to all veterans , for the first veteran who reaches out to me ACC I'll send you a Bumbry auto . please be honest.
Very cool!
I loved Bumbry.
Thank You Mr. President, I did too. A very solid player for the Orioles, and I only wish he had a little more in the tank when he played his last year for my Padres. Have a great week!
Hello my friend hope you’re doing well. Keep up the great videos 🎉🎉
Thank you my friend. I hope it's not too cold in the land of the rising sun.
Awesome!
Thank You Scott!
what a collection!!! cards, magazines, photos, all autographed or with cut autos!!! I collect what i can of Dem Bums, but i really don't have the funds to get anywhere near your collection! Just Breathtaking! also, i'm only a fan of the BROOKLYN Dodgers... not after the move. The only player i'll make an exception for as far as LA on his Cap vs the Brooklyn "B", Sandy Koufax! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Troy! I'm in the same boat as far as funds, but just was lucky to start collecting while stuff was still pretty cheap. I will say that patience really helps with collecting the Bums, since I don't think they're as popular with the new collectors and stuff can sometimes be found at lower prices when collectors are selling off their stuff. Thanks for watching and the kind comments.
Great video sir! A great collection you have!
Thank you! I really appreciate you watching and commenting!
It's not every day that I wish your videos were longer. Congrats on making the best video you've ever made (except for that last bit). Great cards, Mike!
Darn, I thought the last part was the best. I definitely don't understand my target audience. LOL
Great response, buddy. I really appreciate you getting involved. Great song as well.
I definitely had fun with this one. Thanks for giving us a great VR to do.
Dang this was good!!!! Love the creative approach to this video. There was so much good in this, I am not even sure where to start. And the ending had me laughing. I remember that speech to the fans. Help me remember, the coach was?
Thanks Drew, I really appreciate it. The coach was Cincinnati Bengal's Sam Wyche.
Nice VR for Reindeer Sudios. Seen some nice Cleveland Browns cards in there as well as some Indians. Thome RC's, some nice vintage and cool song! Always enjoy Mike and thanks for sharing with us!
Thanks Steve! I always appreciate your support of my channel!
Awesome VR Mike! Skaght Rocks! 😁
Thanks Jim!
Well done my friend
Thanks!
Fun video Mike! I like your sense of humor and taste in music. Great ending with Sam Wyche.
Thank Terry! I was hoping someone would stick around till the end to see Sam Wyche. Thanks for doing that!
Wow! That's an awesome VR Mike. Love all the cards and autos. Enjoyed. Take care.
Thank You so much!
ohhhh i likey!!!
Thanks Mikey. It was a fun VR!
Loved this video, Mike. You just had a way of making me laugh with that monologue. I have no Guardians cards either. I do have some Indians cards lying around. You showed off some great cards. Have a great weekend!
Thanks Rick! Glad I could make you laugh...but this was a very serious video. LOL
Gave a video like. Excellent VR. So many great Indians and Browns autographs. Thanks for the shout-out as well! Have a great weekend, Mike.
Thanks, I appreciate it! I hope you have a great weekend too!
Breathe in the fresh morning breeze, let it refresh your soul and give you the energy to face your day.
Thanks!
Mike The Sports History Collector's playhouse- love it! I was seven so all these flashbacks are still in my memories. Cool the stars aligned to enable you to attend those playoffs games at Legendary Chavez Ravine. I've been there once! Well produced, loved the music and images. Thanks for sharing and Good Collecting. ps. Still looking for that Patty Hearst Rookie Card!
The Patty Hearst RC is definitely on a lot of collector's lists, although I'm looking for the Farrah Fawcett swimsuit swatch card. LOL Thanks so much for watching, commenting and supporting my channel. It means a lot to me.
Thanks for taking me on this ride. I too was a freshman in 1974. That was the last year (maybe a few 75 packs) I collected and it too was the year I collected the most. I put collecting aside until 1987 after that. The time machine brought back some wonderful times and memories. I loved seeing all your player autographs and 74 Dodgers team set. I loved those facsimile autographs on the team cards. I do have the completed 1974 set and am glad to own it. By the way, that "Sweet Madam Blue" song by Styx added a nice touch to the time travel. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for the kind words. It was a special time, and it sounds like we went through it in a similar manner. It wasn't until 87-88 that I started collecting sets again, but after awhile I went to a lot more autographs and just individual cards that I liked. I miss those 1970's collecting times though. Have a great weekend, and please stop by for some other videos.
I do hope to drop in more frequently. I do enjoy listening to you and Gordon on the history of the game and lesser known players like the latest on Lou Brissie (I hope I spelled correctly). As a carpenter, winter is a slow time for me. I'll have to check out more of your stuff.
1974 was a great year for baseball...specifically 8 Apr 74 that involved your beloved Dodgers. Thanks for the trip back in time. 1974 was the year I got my Big Wheel. And Evil Knievel stunt cycle. Such a great time to be alive.
It was indeed a great time. Kids today don't know what they missed.
