I see some very good landing and takeoff technique here. The power/pitch approach with deceleration on short final coming into ground effect does two things. It brings the throttle into dynamic action as the most effective glide angle and rate of descent control. Slowing enough to get some sink that brings throttle into play also blasts extra relative wind over the wing which allows safer slow flight. Without full Fowler flaps, the larger and thinner winged Cessna would have an uncomfortable nose high attitude to do the same thing. The nose wheel touched down on the centerline rather than left of center where most of the tire marks show up on pavement. That tells me you are putting the target (centerline) between your legs rather than at the slight angle of using the center of the nose (prop.) The last takeoff was best as it took the most advantage of low ground effect and cleared the trees by the least height. We give up free ground effect acceleration energy on long runways at big airports. We bleed airspeed by clearing obstructions more than necessary. Finally, there was no wing wagging caused by adverse yaw. That means you were using the anti-turn control, the rudder only and not the aileron, to hold the centerline. Very good job all around.

How long is the Runway?

The Cherokee 180 is a great aiirframe.Very sound spinning aircraft and i also has a good cruise speed at AUWeight.The PA28 is an excellnt short field strip. 500 yards is enough to operaqte it. The PA28/180 is less work on cross country charter. Would rather fly it then a Cessna 172/180 HP.

I need to take the Archer in there and get my mug. I’ve been there in a Carbon Cub and a Sport Cruiser, but taxied back and departed both times.

Looks like a good turnout at the party. Sorry I missed it. Three point landings in a tricycle gear are not preferred but it looked smooth.
