My channel explores filmmaking, vlogging, content creation, photography, and camera stuff. I started this channel to post examples of multimedia composition projects for my English composition students. Then I kind of fell in love with filmmaking and digital media and TH-cam and vlogging videos and . . . all of it. I hope you enjoy my videos. I try to upload at least once a week.

Thank you for sharing this unique and helpful video on pairing this lens with a fullframe mirrorless camera. I'm currently using this lens with the 90D, and planning to buy the R5ii and keep using this versatile lens.
Thanks for the comment. Glad you liked the video. :)
Canon still uses outdated decade old front lit CMOS sensors, Sony uses more advanced technology. Canon should have been now experimenting with SPAD or even x1000 more sensitive graphene sensors.
that is a full frame camera, the lens is for apsc, shouldn't it had black round circle around edges?
No! i am using it with canon RP which goes to 1.6 crop automatically and no vignetting at all.
very good video friend, I really liked the color and the narration.muy buen video amigo me gusto mucho el color y la narracion

Am not using cine style again, I find out like it is not original better neutral.what picture profile do you prefer mostly for clear music video? In 90d. Better 1080 or 4k in 90d
Helpful learned about temperature and iso thanks so much.
the all around tamron is doing very well..
Isn’t the 90 D a crop sensor? If so, with the 1.6 crop multiplier, you have a 640mm range, plenty enough for bird photos
However, I didn't enjoy your comparison. But it's very rare that I edit my photos unless I put a crop.
The 90D runs circles around that camera. I have the 90D and 80d I don't have a Sigma lens. But I do have the cannon new 70-300mm nano usm is. Which works for both cameras and promises me. One of the clearest images I've ever seen. Now I'm a guy that comes from. The rebel brand. Cannon's rebel brand. And if you know about the rebel, it was able to be purchased and took out the box and just shoot pictures. That's not the case in the 80D or 90D. What's the ability to adjust tracking Focus. And so much more that I didn't know. Now probably I'll never buy a rebel camera unless it's for my daughter. I enjoy playing with the 90D I do believe it's a professional camera. I have shot pickleball. Put this camera in I gotta say at least 95 to a 100 or much of my shots were accurate and they were looking good.
Why would you pair a Canon R6 with an APSc lens?
I paired R6 with EFs 17-55 and its not working
@@LamNguyen-nj6er exactly. The R6 is a full frame camera and the EF-s 17 - 55 mm is a lens for smaller sensor APSc cameras
Interesting video recordings
Lovely! Very cinematic color grading!
Thank you. :)
Just recently picked up some FD lenses, this one included. Do you find with photography the images produced are fairly resemble film? Some of your shots here seemed to! I have some solid film presets I enjoy, but I’m hoping using some FD glass will really up the film look factor. Also just recently picked up a canon f-1 so I’m excited to start shooting actual film! Cheers
The FD lenses have a more glassy, lens-y look to them OOC, if that makes sense. I usually have to be in a more creative mode to use them. With all of the film emulation software/effects out there, you can make anything look older and filmic. Thanks for the comment. :)
How are you not getting black corners using a crop sensor lens on a full frame camera? I have this lens and cannot use it on my full frame camera just for that reason.
The Canon R6 automatically crops into an APS-C portion of the sensor when this lens is mounted
Any issues with autofocus using R6?
The autofocus is alright with the Tamron. It can sometimes be a little touchy, especially if there is not a lot of light. Thanks for the comment. :)
Great video
Thanks. :)
Nice comparison video
Thanks, glad you liked it. :)
Dude! I enjoyed that. Especially your voiceover. Repeat! You got something.
Thanks. Glady you liked the vid. 😀
How it is going with focusing on 400mm on moving objects like vehicles?
If you are talking about moving, handheld shots, focusing at 400mm is not easy. The focus ring does not extend with the lens, so things get off balance. On a tripod, the focusing at 18 or 400mm are pretty much the same. I've not really noticed any difference in AF with this lens between wide and long shots. Thanks for the comment. :)
I should have been more precise. It's about tracking/focusing objects while shooting a video. Currently I have a 700d with that tamron 18-400 and while in terms of photos it is sufficient, I will do the rest using AI and Photoshop, in terms of video AF works terribly, especially in live view
@@m3ntorpl I would say so-so. It tracks alright as long as there is contrast. But I can't say if it is the 90D or the Tamron that makes it okay. I also do not do a lot of continuous focusing/tracking shots. Thanks.
Okay, thank you very much 🫡
The quality of this combo is very good, a video where you vlog with this setup would be very interesting to see the stabilization, autofocus, rumor at high iso and the quality when you record an animal or something else
Thanks for the comment. I think I have some videos with videos of animals with this lens and camera. The autofocus with the 90D and this lens are pretty good, it does tend to lose focus in lower light and contrast. I have several low light tests with the 90D, I don't know that any of them are with this lens though. Thanks for the comment. :)
Hi👋🏻 thank you so much it's a great video. I would like to buy the Canon R6 II and use it with the 18-400 to make videos of animals and at the same time vlog. When you use your combo at 18mm on full frame can you already record? or there is vignetting and therefore you have to crop in apsc making it become a 28mm full frame equivalent. And the Video autofocus is good? Thanks
and the stabilization in video is it good? sorry for all these questions😅
The R6 autocrops when you use an EF lens, so I don't have to adjust the settings. I think the crop is a 1.6, so it is like APSC. The stabilization on the R6 is okay, and the Tamron has vibration reduction. But trying to stabilize any handheld footage when using a zoom lens is difficult. Thanks for the comment. :)
@@SeanMiller318 Thank you😄
Does it auto crop on the R6?
Yes, the R6 crops in on EF lenses. Thanks for the comment. :)
Thanks Great examples
Thanks. :)
Nice video, Sean.
Thanks. :)
👍🔥
Thank you. :)
Thanks for watching. :)
I was looking at buying one of these lenses - but with the canon adapter on the R6, there is heavy vignette at the 18mm-50mm or so. Am I not doing something with the camera to stop this? Thank you
I will have to take a look at this. I think the R6, when the adapter is on, is supposed to automatically crop in to prevent vignetting. If you are getting this in the 18-50mm, then maybe check your menu settings Lens Aberration Correction>Digital Lens Optimizer>(mine is set to Standard). I don't know if this will correct the problem you're having, but it's worth a try. Thanks for the comment. :)
Hi, just purchased the Weebill S to use it with my Canon 90D and have a problem, when connecting the gimball to the camera using the microUSB cable provided in order to be able to use the shutter button on the Weebill, the camera gets unresponsive to any button; if I click on a physical button or and button in the touch screen, it shows "BUSY". I have the latest Canon firmware 1.1.1 and also tried with latest firmare for the Weebill S, 2.0.7 . And the the Weebill's shutter button does not work either... Do you have any idea? Since you have same gimball+camera combination :) Thx!
I wish I could answer this question, but to be honest, I've never used the microUSB that comes with the Weebill on any my cameras. I have synced the Weebill with my phone to program movements, but never plugged it into my cameras. There has to be a video out there on your issue though. Thanks for the comment. :)
Beautiful composition, colors. 0:35 amazing resolution. Thank you SEAN!

Thanks for the comment. I do like this lens a lot. :)
Thanks for watching. :)
I finally discovered the problem, the recording volume was too high. After reducing it, it became normal. Thanks!
I'm glad you figured it out. :)
Wow, your brief explanation cleared the air for me, but I have a problem with the 90D. It produces a howling sound when it is connected to the tv hdmi transmitter. Do you have any suggestions?
I wish I could help you with that, but I've never connected it to an hdmi on any device. There has to be a video on this issue somewhere. Thanks for the comment. :)
@seanmiller Did you use the cropped mode on the R8 to see cropped mode pics? How many megapixels do you loose from the 20 MP R6? Does it fall back to 12,5 (20 / 1.6) megapixels? Isn t that a lot?
I don't know that I completely understand your question, but I will try to respond. The R6's megapixel count is at 20 regardless of whether you crop in. I say this because when I use the internal crop function, the images are not any less sharp. I think of it along the lines of using a zoom lens, I'm getting 20 megapixels at both 18mm and 400mm. With internal crop, less of the overall image is recorded by the sensor, but the sensor is being physically cropped and then expanded to fit the aspect ratio you've selected. I hope that makes sense and answers your question. :)
@@SeanMiller318 Tx Sean for answering. But I think it works otherwise. The full capacity of your full frame sensor is 20 MP. Mine is 24 MP, giving 4.000x6.000 pixel images. When you will look at the non corrected raw images you ll see that the image has exuberant vignetting, showing you black corners. You can see it in camera if you manually set the format to full frame. That s logical: the Tamron is a cropped lens, not covering the entire full frame sensor area. It covers, well, precisely the area of a cropped sensor. So you will lose x/1.6 and y/1.6 pixels of your image format. Save it as a jpeg and inspect size of the jpeg and the x×y pixels in the image. If you don t believe the science or me, pls check the very good videos Tony Northrup has put out on the truth and science between full frame versus cropped. They re really good. I think your R6 switches back to being a 12,5 MP cropped camera when mounting the 18-400. My R8 switches back to become a 15 Mp cropped camera. And for a lot of work 12 or 15 MP are pretty dnough. And the cudos are that your actially using the sharpest center images areas of the lens. So you ll have the sharper part of the image. Which explains your beautiful image outcomes. Well done!
@@MrRFasters Thanks. I learned something today. I usually just look at the images and go with it if I like it. :)
