Thanks Ricky. Quite an operation to derig with many turnbuckles and belaying pins. Luckily I have a vehicle - just- big enough to transport rigged and I can park close to the lake for launching.
Thanks Tom. No, sorry, all the clips I recorded have been edited into the video. I propose to be there next year so please let me know if you have any special requests.
Nice model, don’t think she has ever flown a St George’s cross at the bow though, usually a St Andrew’s cross (as she is Scottish) ocassionally a Welsh flag if she has a Welsh skipper and sometimes a Union Jack with a thick white border.
Not my model, I only did the filming, so I can’t say why she was flying the Cross of St. George. Perhaps, as the skipper of the model is English, he is doing what the Welsh do?
I think they were scratch but I don't know the modeller. You may get more information from Bournville Radio Sailing and Model Boat Club. I was only there as a guest on the day.
@@stevewood3212 Thanks for that. One of the MTB's my dad served on was MTB 705. Apart from Deans Kits very difficult to find any other small model kits available.
Thanks Martin. Yes, you are right about the ballast - more in the bows I think. It is heavy enough already, I use the power source of two 7.1v lead acid batteries, but more lead would make it look a lot better.

I think you will find the correct RN term is 'Hard a port'.😉
Cool boat, i have a very similar model!👍 th-cam.com/video/gPcPp-otrIg/w-d-xo.html
Nice boat looks fab
Very nice Steve. Is it easy to derig and carry ?
Thanks Ricky. Quite an operation to derig with many turnbuckles and belaying pins. Luckily I have a vehicle - just- big enough to transport rigged and I can park close to the lake for launching.
@@stevewood3212 Many thanks for your quick answer... Enjoy your "Antares"...🙂👍
Hi Steve, great video! I don't suppose you have any of my upholder submarine that was running that day?
Thanks Tom. No, sorry, all the clips I recorded have been edited into the video. I propose to be there next year so please let me know if you have any special requests.
Great model, well done! What scale is it?

Beautiful lines. Glides so cleanly through the water.
Were the DUKW's scratch built or or they available as a kit?
I think they were scratch but I don't know the modeller. You may get more information from Bournville Radio Sailing and Model Boat Club. I was only there as a guest on the day.
@@stevewood3212 Thank you! I will check them out.
Where is Bournville?
On the A38 just south of Birmingham centre

Couldn't see any markings on model. Do you know which MTB number this model is based on?
This is a Deans kit and the pennant number displayed by them is MTB 605.
@@stevewood3212 Thanks for that. One of the MTB's my dad served on was MTB 705. Apart from Deans Kits very difficult to find any other small model kits available.
@@terrykeane2502 I know the feeling! I now tend to buy a fibreglass hull and scratch build the rest to a particular pennant number.
Very nice boat
Sound effects are great! BZ

Oh my she is gorgeous! Well done mate!
Thank you.Not my boat, only my video, but I will pass your comments on to my mate Phil.

Hi Steve, Fantastic. Please pass on my congratulations on a job well done.
Thanks Martin, I will.
Magnificent work! Beautifully crafted.
Thank you very much! I only made the video but I will pass your remarks on to the builder.

i really want that
Hi Steve, Nice to see her in action. Looks like you had a few hart stopping moments LOL!!
Thanks Martin. The main problem is the mainsheet winch getting tangled. I'm working on a solution
It look's like Scout is loving life.
This is his favourite place, the beach at Happisburgh, Norfolk. Every year Scout says, "Dad", he says, "Dad, can we please go back to Norfolk?"

Super nice mate great job 👏
Thank you! Cheers!
Very nice indeed Steve. The detail is fantastic, a boat to be proud of. Well done Sir.
Thank you kindly
Nice work yet again Steve. My only criticism maybe a tad more ballast.
Thanks Martin. Yes, you are right about the ballast - more in the bows I think. It is heavy enough already, I use the power source of two 7.1v lead acid batteries, but more lead would make it look a lot better.
Great work. You definitely need the extra power to overcome the weed LOL!! Keep up the good work. I am looking forward to the next update.
Nice Steve, Rides the water well.
Nice Steve.
Looks good on the water. Nice work.
Looks good steve.
Very nice indeed. Great work.
Looking good so far. Keep the updates coming.
We will!
Turns soooo well
The HMS lives on in distant memories. Nice model of what I consider the most glorious looking warship of all time.
Very nice model. Was wondering kit or scratch and what scale? That Rc running is very realistic!
Thank you. The hull was given to me but the rest was scratch built. Scale is 1/96
Thinking about getting 1 of this boats ,can i ask what did you change on it to make it go so fast and the cost, cheers
Sorry, Ronnie. Can't help you there. I only made the video
