Breaking Julien Alfred records became a habit-her standout performances included setting national records for Saint Lucia, winning NCAA titles, and making history as the first woman in NCAA history to run under 7 seconds in the 60 meters. Despite setbacks, including a canceled 2020 outdoor season due to the pandemic, she never lost sight of her dreams.
In 2024, after dominating the Diamond League and international competitions, Julien Alfred faced her greatest challenge-the Paris Olympics. With sheer determination, she delivered a historic performance, winning Saint Lucia’s first-ever Olympic medal in the Julien Alfred 100m event with a time of 10.72 seconds. Her Julien Alfred wins gold moment was followed by a silver in the Julien Alfred 200m, cementing her status as a world-class sprinter.
Julien Alfred’s triumphs were celebrated back home, with Saint Lucia naming September 27th "Julien Alfred Day" and honoring her as the nation’s Tourism Ambassador. Her inspiring story of perseverance, grit, and unwavering belief is a testament to what can be achieved with hard work and passion.
