It’s not much of song for the drummer 🥁 with only snare side clicks on the record, so I am embellished at a bit to keep my seven fans happy, 😃 It’s actually a very nice song and it was fun to play. Hey and look at that hat that must of been my daughters, that works hiding my bed head hair.

@@ronaldokonig8828 , yes it’s the first time I’ve tried this song. I had a request from someone to do it. It’s not a song I would’ve normally done, but I think it came out OK.

@@TimWillard2235 , that’s my first priority while searching for songs to play, looking for a good beat. 🥁, I was given that background and a few props in my drum room by a friend, it’s cool 😎 but a little busy for me, so I don’t always have it shown. I can just open or close the curtain. I do mix it up , open or closed, someone said they couldn’t see the hat as well with the curtains closed.

@@PatriciaBurese Thanks 🙏 it’s definitely a great song 🎵 I added my own fills to spice it up a bit. The song just had the snare side click throughout the entire song.

@The-Tired-Drummer I understand Kenny. I thought a Ballad 🤔. I thought if Bryan was still experimenting with songs like the Mama's and papa's song, he put his twist on it, maybe he could turn Red's Ballad into a piece of excitement. ( Many times, I think outside the box ) In my mind I actually was thinking of Roy Clark's " Yesterday " when you were playing Kenny ( playing Red's song ).

@ , Bryan has this special thing that he can do to any song 🎵, he’s like an artist 👨‍🎨 he got a special gift with this almost super human brain 🧠 for drumming, his timing and concentration is unreal. It’s sort of like the movie Rain Man , where he is so unbelievable with numbers and counting that the average person just can comprehend.

@@gregwonhoff7161 where do I start Greg I’m mixing up songs and I’m still gonna stick to the blues cause I enjoy it but I’m starting to like the other songs again because I gave them a break. Like I’ve mentioned before I’m very musical. I don’t read any music. I never took lessons. I played by feel and yes, the cymbal work is all planned out while I’m learning the song as I’m playing it. I’ve never heard the song either, but I go searching the TH-cam for new music every day and I look for songs that just have a certain beat and feel like this one and it’s a nice song I’ve never heard before. So as I say to Brian, I always do something I call cymbal management , and if you look carefully, I will tend to move the symbols around, not always in the same spot because they need to be easy to reach and I look for the note that matches the song and each of the cymbal’s do have a note. 🎵

@ Oh, rest assured my snoring buddy, I am almost always noticing when you have moved your cymbals, especially Swiss y because he is quite easy to distinguish from the others.

@@TimWillard2235 Yes the band was Blind Faith , which was considered a SUPER GROUP OF THE TIMES. Eric Clapton and his Drummer from when in the band CREAM, such potential but unfortunately Eric Clapton was impossible to get along with and the band disbanded after one album. By Eric’s own admission, he was the problem and could never keep playing in a band with anyone.

@@gregwonhoff7161 I was using the Hot Rod dowel drum sticks, that are quieter, but louder than brushes, they are really fun to use. The problem that I have to hit the drums a little louder at times, but remember to hold back on the crash cymbals because if I’m hitting them too hard in a quiet part, The cymbals are too loud, that takes a certain discipline to remember, I had to do many texts because of me hitting the crashes too loud by mistake.

Thanks Tobi, I found this live version of this song, done with no audience. I liked the recording, I don’t think this song was ever on my radar. I’m not normally a hat guy , because I have a full head of hair, but it’s been fun 😊

@ , Thanks so much 🙏🙏🙏 this means a lot to me, I just decided to do shorts a couple days ago, my regular utube channel doesn’t really get much activity, so I gave this a shot and perhaps 🤔 things will improve. I hope you check out my TH-cam channel for regular full songs. I’ve been doing a lot of blues for a few months, but I’m starting to mix up things again.

I can’t do anything about the mix, I try to balance the mix in my rather inexpensive ear monitors, I can’t change any settings after the recording. Most utubers drummers go into a computer that lets them remix the song afterwards. If I lower the music I can’t hear it well enough. Sometimes the heavier drumsticks make drum’s louder. But to be honest it sounds quite good wearing my over the ear Sennheiser headphones . Ps I’ve never heard of this singer before and didn’t realize he was a country artist.

@@TimWillard2235 These sticks are called Hot Rods, they are thin dowels that are attached together, with a band and in the handle. They come in different thickness’s . They are louder then brushes, but quieter then wood sticks, they come in handy. These rods are made by different companies, at different prices.

Went searching for more country music 🎵 and so much of the same theme, a Chevy truck, whiskey 🥃 and a cheating wife. I’ll take the Blues, a Cadillac car, a diamond ring, then whiskey 🥃 then comes the cheating wife. I guess they’re pretty similar except for these country singers that all put on this phony voice, they all sound the same. They call it a twang ?

There seems to be many versions of this song by different artist, but this particular one had the drumming, there’s another version where the drumming didn’t come in till a minute later. This is a good recording, so that’s one of the reasons I picked this particular version. I’m glad I’m bringing back old memories for you. 😮

I liked the way she looked at the beginning, she went through many different changes but the first look was the best in my eyes. I actually bought the cd 💿

Thanks 😊 I’ve always like this song 🎵, when it came out, they had a video and I found the girl singer very cute 🥰 I was never into this kind of music , but I actually bought this cd 💿. I’ve been searching for more songs and keep finding so many just sound the same, Chevy Trucks, whiskey, 🥃 Cheating couples … and they put on this phoney country music accent. @ , You know I’m a perfectionist, well I had a brain 🧠 cramp and near the end the drums stop 🛑 for a small verse, I’m all set up waiting for the drum 🥁 fill to get back in, and it goes directly into a snare side click, of course after putting in a very good performance, I forgot the side click and just played the snare , no one would know but I’m so disappointed ☹️

Thanks so much, to be honest I just found this version the other day, and it caught my attention 😮, I didn’t know about the Dave Mason versions, I just checked them out, a studio and a live version, and noticed the drums didn’t come in until just past one minute. My average listener usually bails around the minute mark if I’m lucky , so unfortunately those other versions wouldn’t probably work for me. But thanks for mentioning it to me 😊 I really don’t know the music 🎵 out there.

I didn’t find out until uploading to TH-cam when I added my liner notes 📝. Yes if I can find songs like this , I’ll be playing more country songs in my mix, in general, I know nothing about the country music scene sure, I’ve heard of some people, but I couldn’t tell you any songs, I couldn’t tell any songs Taylor Swift has done and she’s like the biggest thing going. I just don’t follow any of that stuff. I don’t like the traditional country music or these guys all sound like they’re imitating each other. So I’m gonna be looking for stuff that’s not really that country with that sort of more popish I guess, I’m not stopping my blues, but I’m gonna mix things up like I’ve said and I’m sure I’m gonna find some nice songs like this that I’ll like. 👍
