Those shrimp are stunning!
@@timtrethan2557 fully agree, I'm really keen to see what we can get by doing a few cross breeding projects in the future 😬🙌
@SimplyAquaticCT look forward to seeing the results of what's to come!!
@@timtrethan2557 thanks for the support 😄🙌
Good video, nice and informative. I too have a daphnia magna culture going. I have an IBC with the daphnia and 2 more IBC's growing green water. To say I have a lot of daphnia, would be an understatement.

Please please please do a episode on the bacteria you used at startup. Please dude
@@justjacque587 on it's way 😄🙏
Thank you and uhh thank you. 😀
This was an excellent video Tristan! There are quite a few tips I got to take away from this from using gloves (especially when aquascaping), using H202 for cleaning the inside and the DIY lids for rimless tanks. You've got a subscriber here and I wish you all the best!
Ah man thank you so much, cannot tell you what it means to me to have someone like you support me. Today has been an epic day 😄🫶 I will keep doing my best to experiment and share knowledge like you have doneand set such a great example! Big inspiration thank you 🙌

Would be good to see this running and connected to a tank
@@adam6260 if you have a look at one of my later videos they're all hooked up and running. My latest video I actually setup a tank and filled it from this exact reservoir 😄
What does CT stand for? I was guessing Connecticut (a state in the US) but now I’m guessing not. Mark sent me. 😁

Hey buddy, where do you get the shelving, rimless tanks and hardware for all the canopys and ro stuff in bulk , could you add that into the videos. Id like to set up my basement with 30 or so tanks as well.
Hey Kristopher, where are you based man? Most of the stuff I've bought is local, so if you're also in the same area I could put you in contact with the places I get everything 🤙
@@SimplyAquaticCT Canada.
@@kristophertodd2419 ah okay, I'm all the way in South Africa unfortunately so I can't help you there.. sorry about that!
@SimplyAquaticCT have you always lived there or did you move there at some point? And not a problem man, your setups just look so clean and I want to setup a breeding farm like you with all those matching rimless tanks.
@@kristophertodd2419 appreciate it man. I've always lived here. For rimless tanks I'd say order some precut glass from a local manufacturer and build them yourself. For these tanks I'm using 615mm x 32.5mm x 32.5mm panels which works out to about 75 liters, and I'm using 5mm glass for strength.
Hi how would I got about getting green water when there is no windows close and also how I would go about setting up a bare bottom angelfish tank
@@MalAquatics I'm posting a Greenwater tutorial soon 😃🙌
@@SimplyAquaticCT thank you
Thanks for the info. Where can I get the sliders. Do you perhaps have a close up pic.
@@TerranceVermaak Sliders I got from gelmar, glass from executive. Not sure how much closer I can go than I did in the video :)
Thank you sir
Pretty amazing fish room! Keep up the great work. 👍
@@Aquafinity thank you so much 🙌
I'm a fan of your white guppies ;) I like your slider idea. I was fortunate enough to have access to a 3D printer and made some simple, small C channels. The tanks I ended up using have the black trim on the top. I was able to lay the first piece of cut glass with the C channels on the trim and then slide the second glass on top of that. Also, congrats on your channel growth in such a short time!
@@IvansGuppies they're called platinums, sad I don't have any females for them to continue breeding... You know, I have looked for that black trim everywhere, seems either you have to buy a tank with it or accept that you'll never find it. At least locally but even searching didn't turn anything up for me. And thanks so much, owe it all to the support from you guys 🙌😄
@@SimplyAquaticCT Having a hard time finding matching females was one of the reasons that initially got me started with my project and working with this strain of guppies. If you decide to keep working with this colony, a crossbreeding followed by some backcrosses can get you some matching females. Assuming that the guppies have similar genetics to the ones I have, they could potentially throw some cool pink looking offspring! I would love to see how reproducible this result is. In any case, I'm looking forward to your fish room progress and the shrimp projects you have planned!
Hahaah no ways fellow petrol head and tank addict ! Lekker setup, I’m busy with a tank to finally give discus a bash
@@donovansutherland Howsit my bruu! Hahaha how did you find this? I've tried to keep it separate to the car stuff 😂😂😂

How long the food last? Shelf life
The first batch I made lasted a few months in an airtight container. Just make sure it's completely dry before you seal it up.
@SimplyAquaticCT good to know ... just started 3x10gal.. currently cycling .. first time doing neo shrimps
Awesome, keep me posted! All the best 😃👏
THE BUMP!😅🤣
Thus guy parties! 😂😂😂
This is so cool, I’ve never thought about making my own shrimp food! Let us know if you will sell this? 😅
I think in future if there's enough interest I can definitely consider it 😃
Im going to try this😂i do something similar with duckweed and spirulina and gelatine for my bristlenoses.
I've seen a bunch of good things with gelatin based foods, @fishkeepinganswers also recommended some food like that which I'd like to test out. How long does it last in your tank before it breaks down?
@@SimplyAquaticCT i made mine into a bit of harder jelly (on my channel, its a short) and it start breaking down in about 30 minutes but with my plecos they finish it before it could break down but i also feed it occasionally for my shrimps.
Ah this is awesome, I think if it breaks down in tiny bits then it's actually still pretty beneficial for baby shrimp!
@@SimplyAquaticCT it does, it breaks down almost the same way as Hikari Algae wafers do.
Verkoop jy ook?😅
@@LongfinAqua website coming soon 🤔🙂
@@SimplyAquaticCT looking forward to it, im also busy with n website but doing it myself so its a massive proses😁
