In terms of whether or not it’s a full scholarship, that is decided case by case, so I suggest contacting your admissions counselor / advisor or research scholarships on Purdue’s website. Hi! i don’t think they are technically allowed but as long as you keep it on the down low and put it away during fire alarm checks (Resident Assistants will go into ur room and check the fire alarm every month or two) u will be fine! i would suggest asking your roommate if they are ok with it as well!

hi, congratulations!! after being here for a year i can definitely say that i made the right choice in coming to purdue! the people here are so nice so it’s easy to make friends and find the right group of people for u! academics are challenging, but that makes it all more rewarding when you do well, plus, everyone around u will be going through the same thing, so it’s easy to get help! the campus is beautiful and very walkable too, so overall i definitely recommend it! if you have any other questions let me know, hope this helped! :)

also regarding the single dorm, in my case, my former roommate was removed from the school for personal reasons after the first semester, so i have had a room alone for spring semester. most freshman dorms are doubles but in certain residence halls there are singles. you can also request a single room or a room with AC if you have medical reasons that require you to have that!

hi Mia! i think some of the biggest differences between california and indiana are the weather (it gets very hot and humid in the summer and very cold and snowy/rainy in the winter) and the fact that there aren’t many things to do like there is in california. in terms of the weather, layering up and being prepared is all you need to stay warm. being on a college campus, there’s going to be a lot to discover and explore, so even if indiana isn’t as filled with attractions, restaurants, and things to do, there are still ways to have fun and meet new people! the friends you make on campus really make a difference in your experience! overall, in my case, it has been a very smooth and easy transition! although i definitely find myself missing cali once in a while 😂 hope this helped! feel free to let me know if u have any other questions :)

hello!! the homework load is definitely manageable, however most of your workload will come from trying to deeply understand the homework so you can be prepared for the exam! for engineering specifically, the homework and projects are definitely challenging but there are plenty of resources to help you, including your peers!
