Catching Crappie Lake Nasworthy 2018
The rig is a small jig head 1/8th oz with a small plastic attached. Using a bobber/float you can set the depth you want to fish. Worked the best around rip rap and rocky shores.
I used 10lb line because of the brush and I don't notice a difference with super light line anyways.
This rig also seems to work well for smaller fish like blue gill and sometimes even bass.

Using square-bill crank-baits is a great way to fish Nasworthy and in this video I will show you where and how. I used a 7:1:1 gear ratio with a medium action 7' rod. That is a very big rod and reel combo for crappie. All u need is a medium or even could use an ultra light for crappie.

Why is this lake full but all the others in the area are low??
I don't really know. Alan Henry is almost full and so is Nasworthy for some reason. Twin Buttes feeds into Nasworthy so it gets a pretty large area to catch water.
You still in San Angelo? I hooked into something decent today on a chatterbait but didn't set the hook hard enough and it shook it. I was close to the KOA campground.

Yes. Knickerbocker till you go across the bridge. Turn right at the stripes and look for fishermans road in the right side of the road. Then take that to spring creek and go left and you will see a playground.
just moved to san angelo and went to lake nas a few times to fish. haven't caught anything at all. i tried the red bluff park area with a squarebill, (5-8ft) but the fish just weren't taking it. any advice? i usually go from 7am-11am. i also tried texas rig and swimming jigs.
Honestly man sometimes all it takes for the squarebills is a simple change of color. One time I had to switch 3 or 4 times before I got a bite. Ive never really been successful with Texas rigs because of snags and the composition of the bottom is more muddy than hard. Im working on a video right now on how to use jigs so keep a lookout for it. Thanks for the comment
