NEW 4WD Cleaning Products - Bowden's Own - Review in description
So, what did I think of the latest formulas Bowden's Own has added to their product range? First, I'll explain that my Patrol has copped a hiding over the years with paint fade, dents and unfortunately little bits of rust peeking out in some parts. So, when the opportunity arose to trial these new releases, I was very intrigued to see how, or if, I could make an almost 25-year-old 4WD look good again... I was absolutely blown away to say the least!
With all these products combined together, it can make other 4WDers think you are just another one of those pavement princesses, but you actually understand the importance of caring for your cars so you can get the most out of it. Using the products as followed in this order I found will lead to fantastic results.
- 2 wash & rinse bucket kit - These buckets are great with the dirt barriers that are included in each bucket, this is to protect the sponge or pillow from the dirt on the bottom while it's sitting the bucket when you are doing other tasks.
- Dirty Times Wash - This new formula will knock that muds socks off, or should I say rocks.. Anyway, this is to designed to fight against mud, salt and even has corrosion inhibitors formulated within it, so that's a big plus in my books.
- Snow Blow Cannon - Needs no introduction, this one of the flag ship products and is a must have for your Bowden's collection.
- Mega Snow Job - Mixing this into the Snow Blow Cannon at 9:1 will make you think you're in the Vic High Country mid-winter with the amount of foam this creates, unfortunately you can't ski on it, but it is helping you fight all that built up dirt and road grime for you.
- Down & Dirty - While you wait 5 minutes for the Snow Job to do its thing, This new innovation is a potent yet gentle spray cleaner for your tire and chassis, it's designed to effectively remove all the grease, grime and minerals from your wheels and tires, once all tires are sprayed (don't forget the spare, if on the back door) it's time to whip out the little stiffy....
- The Little Stiffy - THE BRUSH, I MEANT THE BRUSH! This new brush is perfect for tire preparation in combination with the Down and Dirty cleaner before moving on to the application of Bowden's other protective products such as Sweet Rubber or Tire Sheen. It's also perfect for scrubbing the under body of your 4WD.
- The Wash Pillow - Now that you have rinsed off the car, it's time to put in the manual labor, only if you think you need to, sometimes it's not needed. This pillow is perfect for those bigger toys, made of 3 yarn microfibers consisting of 70% polyester & 30% polyamide, this blend creates one of the most effective washing materials I have ever used. Rinse off and take a moment to see how good the 4wd looks already!
- The Twisted Mother Sucker - Another Towel Bowden's have added to their range. This extra large 90x60cm, 800GSM, single sided microfiber towel with convenient hand pockets for maximum reach and coverage is the absolute bees' knees, quick and easy for all the large vehicles.
- Boss Gloss - Bowden's exclusive show day shine, couple of quick sprays of this will assist the Twisted Mother Sucker in smoothly gliding over your paint with a boss like shine afterwards.
- Under Armer - And finally another new addition to the range, 5 years in the making! As a member of the 4WD community I can confidently speak for all, and say that we all fear rust, the bane of any vehicle, especially 4WD's . This product offers genuine corrosion and rust protection without the sticky and greasy residue of traditional protectants.
All these products as mentioned, I believe are an absolute must have for any 4wd.. or any car owner for that fact, to own if they really care for their pride and joys.

Sorry honey.. Goin for a wheel. 2 mates with a free day to kill, hit up Eagle View to soak in the sun and burn some diesel! It's been over a year since Matt has been to the park, unfortunately during his last visit he got to miss out on most of the fun stuff due to lack of clearance, D40 Life. But since then he has made the perfect decision (I'm not biased at all 😂) and bought a Patrol, in whic...

2 years ago, I decided to refresh the awning after it broke when flipping over the car. At the time, I was working at Alspec Aluminium, so it was cheaper to upgrade the arms rather than throw it away, so here we are. XTM 270° Awning: @bcfaustralia

Lovely job, been using bowdens stuff for 10 years in my arsenal as a detailer for money 👍
Have you used it as a freezer?
@adzb2347 no I haven't
Wicked! 😁👌
Thanks!
Be good to have you back out our 4x4 park thank you for visiting 😊
Been a while that's for sure
Where were these tracks?
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for watching mate
Awesome job with the video you should film more videos with matt and do more stuff together like this 😅
Killa day with some wicked rigs.
What size tubing?
I do say in the video, but it's 32.5 x 3mm radius box (rounded edge)
I am looking to buy a swag. I am stuck between 2 different darche swags at the moment First the Dusk To Dawn (1100 wide). Second the Dirty Dee (1100 wide) Have you ever done a comparison on the 2 types (pros/cons) of them both
I have not but I see them everyday at work, I might look into that idea
i did this mod, ended up using the drop down pivot points, only issue i had was bag was tight after pack up
*_Quality video legend_* ! I know who I'm going to if my awning stuffs up
Cheers bud, appreciate it😁
Thanks for the video Troy. I have the same awning, and even though I had watched your first video about it before I first used mine, I still made the dumb mistake of setting it up and without putting guy lines down. In short, I had the same thing happen to mine with an unexpected gust of wind on an otherwise calm day. 🤦🏽♀️ I want to modify mine the way you have but I wanted to know if you had any ideas about doing so while keeping the fold down legs somehow. I loved that feature over separate legs, which is what prompted me to get this particular awning in the first place. Can you think of a way to replace the broken poles but attach the legs in a different way so as to keep them fold down? Thanks again 😊
Honestly, I never thought about it, I'm definitely going to sus that idea out! Good idea.
Great video, mate! Mad Aussie Adventures
Cheers guys
Hey mate did you remove awning and complete on ground or leave on car and do 1 arm at a time
On the ground bud
Hey Mate do you store the poles in the bag with the rest of the awning?
Yes I do, as well as the tension strap
Thoughts on the Brass Monkey since running it for a while?
Running full time since installation and no problems
Nice video mate.
Cheers Red🤙
sleeping sucked....enough said 😛 Not a big fan of condensation so might just stick with my swag...great video though, cheers
brilliant, I bought one of those $14 tents a few weeks ago and figured I'd wait until it warmed up a bit to crack it open....bit scared to watch Part 2 to see how it goes for you🤞🏻....will watch now, subscribed and good luck with the channel, I know how much work it can be getting going✌🏻
Appreciate it mate. Thanks for the support
I. HAVE. WAY. TO. MUCH. STRAP. CAN. I. CUT. SOME. OFF. ??
Sure.. but then if you need a long strap you need to buy a new one...
Love that fridge
Love your setup. It's interesting to see how everyone sets up their rig.
Thanx for the great tips! Mad Aussie Adventures 👍😎👍
1:48😂😂😂😂😂😂
That little 12v set up is mint 👌
Cheers guys
Nice work legend, the finished install looks very nice and tidy.
Need to tweek it a little, but yeah didn't turnout to bad
Not a bad way to store them. Nice work 👍👍👌👌🤙🤙
Mate I’m feeling the getting old and bitterly cold 😂. Keen to see how this turns out, it’s looking good so far.
good review mate, could be in for one of these on my stretcher, easy to set up for one nighter, then on the move
Thank you bud
Believe it or not, i have made it from Parafield Gardens pizza bar to Terowie in less than 2 hours before they built the expressway. Can't do that now.
Good looking collection of kitchen gear there, everything you need without the wants. Nice work!
Killer video, but rodholders aren't illegal they are guidlines on where they are to be mounted on a bullbar. In QLD. Lover the rear setup👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
Since then ive got a new bar and rods are now stored in the cab so I somewhat stay safe from the po po. Illegal in SA
@WALKABOUT ADVENTURES yeah the difference rules for different starts is cooked at times.
Hey mate, I’m kinda stuck at either to get a crash pad or Darche, what’s your opinion?
I can recommend the darche but I can't speak for the CP, But I've heard great reviews
Pretty much convinced!
exact same thing happened to me, thanks for sharing mate. I will follow your video and give it a crack!
get a bloody radio mic....
Thank you for the constructive criticism
How much square tubing did you need in total?
Hey mate, I'll get an accurate amount for you tomorrow night

Cheers, subscribe as more videos coming out, Good work again Cheers Out There Touring
Will be interesting to see how stable this kayak will be with all the gear. I have a similar style kayak but have always been too scared to load it up too much. I like your bait bucket idea too.
It goes great mate, still very stable even in 2ft swells 2km off Rapid Bay, Not that I recommend it.. I just got caught out 🤦♂️
@@walkabout_adventures good to know. Cheers.
I reckon it could be done without buying cheap nasty products. Good chance we have most of the great we need already. Then either borrow or look or for second hand gear until you know what you need. Good and interesting video. Well done. 👏
Totally agree, cheers mate
Hi mate nice job there from all of mods and DIYs, I’m on my own at the moment, still at the beginning…. I like Yours the most since light construction and not complicated ideas. Can you please give us idea how long are those horizontal poles and are they actually same length or each for their owns? Thanx
Cheers, unfortunately i dont remember off the top of my head, please message our Instagram or Facebook page so I remember to measure for you 🤙🏼
@@walkabout_adventures thanks mate👌

Ahaha that chair did not last at all!
Lucky it was a spare that is never used 🤣
@@walkabout_adventures time for a video on the chair and tent for basic camping repairs ?? Teach those who might get stuck while camping and in need of repairs ?
Be a very short video 🤣
You really need a mic!
Very sorry about that, Working on finding one
23zero are a better swag IMO, theyre just as good if not better, cheaper and now come upgraded with stronger stainless steel poles as standard.
Cool little place, Been there once, didn't see a wombat either!!!!! its cool you can be RHD and LHD in the one video.
UPDATE! 1yr and 3mths and one alloy pole snapped. Now have a full set of poles, they are a Composite pole, much stronger and more flexible... dont know why they didn't come out with them in the first place.
Does the canvas breath well or is there a build up of condensation when the sides are closed for cold weather?
@Matthew Vella breaths really well, never had an issue with condensation.
