There’s many things to like about this car but it does have some problems. All though they are minor these are issues I have found with almost a year of ownership

This is my technique to getting into my M4. It’s different from how I transfer into other vehicles because of the gap and bolsters.

This is the method I use to transfer from my wheelchair into my car. I walk you through step by step in getting inside my car, breaking down my wheelchair and getting inside my car. I would put more info:: Age, level of injury. You make it look so easy. I'm a 52yo M T4 incomp. I went from a KI folding chair to a Tilite rigid chair and at first the folding chair was hard for me. But then after doing it over and over, I developed a good system. Now I got the Tilite titanium everybody was thinking that it was going to be easy-but its WORSE NOW!!!!

I am 43 years a wheelchair user. I am glad you like the seats but I don't. That rise on the left side makes it difficult to transfer. If it was flat and level it would be much easier to transfer. Also I guess I don't have the problems with my legs flopping around accessively.
What is the make and model of hand controls? That would help other wheelchair users like me looking to adapt a car with hand controls.
Good job. I use a wheelchair T'-12 and I am looking at getting a Porsche 911. It won't be a daily driver so I won't be getting in and out multiple times in a day. Just get in and drive around and then come home and get out. Have you tried using a transfer board to make it easier? I am going to make it as easy as possible to transfer in and out and if a transfer board would help then I will use one.

Nice. How is the system called? I use one but it has a plate on the pedals and needs to be stabilized through a lot of screws… ergo… bad if you want to go for leasing. Is your system easier to remove?

I know you said the car was all-wheel drive, but for those of us left with rear wheel-drive can you press both the gas and the brake at the same time? I would imagine a 5-speed is out of the question... used to love driving a manual trans.

Dont you think one leg at a time would be better? And possibly moving your seat back a little? I drive a Nissan GTR with hand controls but I guess everyone is different.
I used to do that until someone told me to try two feet in. In my g82 I have to do two feet in because of the bucket seats but in most cars you can do one foot in. But ever since I started doing two feet in I haven’t done it any other way. It’s the better way in my opinion but whatever works best for you

You should get the rear seat dog covers, I have mine on my hellcat, it does a great job protecting the rear leather and side door handles. I also put ppf on the side skirt area to protect my car from my chair.
I’ve thought about getting the covers but I don’t want to hide the leather. It looks so good. I don’t mind cleaning it when it gets dirty but a cover would definitely help!
@@adaptivem9167 the wheelchair has sharp edges especially where the axel connects to the wheel, it will cut\scratch your leather up over time.

Nice job! I’m 74 and have used a chair for 42 years. We all do things a little different to suit our lives. Back when there were no sports chairs so pulling a folder into the back seat was the only option. Now I pop the wheels off and put them on the passenger seat and put the frame on top. I’m getting into a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk fine but Wranglers are a little too tall for comfort. Hang in there my friend!

Honestly the brake dust issue is for all european models, my sister's audi and my bmw have the same issue, it's just the way our brakes are made. You gotta keep cleaning them max every 3 days if you want them spotless.

You are so right about the brake dust and cleaning the wheels on the M models. I have the X5M and the front wheels are dirty within 3 days of cleaning and detailing the car. I also think the high bolster seats make getting in the vehicle difficult for everyone regardless, but I love all the M-models and they are so fun to drive. Enjoy the drive!

Did you have any trouble deactivate the driver’s knee air bag? I find my choice of vehicles was limited by the knee air bag equipped car.
