What height above the bumper brackets did you settle on for the pivot. Is the rear the same? Ty
Ran into this solenoid valve last night on my MP210. I was doing a stitch weld that required a bunch of tacking. I feel the solenoid over heats with the inr rush of amperage and never gets a chance to cool down. Eventually the solenoid fails completely I would imagine. I'm buying a spare.....thanks for that part number.
Looks like my Corpus Christi 69 car. The best help is yourself 👍🏽 Great vid it’s about sharing experiences
Thanks for documenting this! I am about to pirchase a running 68 mustang that needs a moderate amount of work. I am not retired, have a non working spouse and 2 kids in college. This prepares me for what ill have to look forward too. Thank you!😅
the car of my dream that will never come true
you are the luckiest man in the world to have such a mustang😢😢😢
i am dying for a 1968 mustang😢😢😢
first generation mustangs are all beautiful especially 1967 and 1968 are my big dream but this will remain a dream😢😢😢
Some info I ran across- Intermediate Band Not Releasing: A problem with the intermediate band not releasing can cause the transmission to shift down to 2nd gear. Vacuum Modulator Malfunction: A faulty vacuum modulator can also contribute to this problem, as it affects the transmission’s ability to regulate gear shifts. It's suggested to check the vacuum modulator before tearing into the transmission. Valve Body Assembly Errors: Incorrect assembly or damage to the valve body can also cause shifting issues, including dropping down to 2nd gear while cruising.
Glad you got a solution for now. Beautiful Countryside where you live at.
It's even more fun putting in the window with the guides and everything in the door. I was frustrated putting these in but I finally got em
So that's how that trim goes on I only had the bottom peice and the trangle end pieces in my 69. I just found a whole set trim and ordered it so this video was super helpful! Oh by the way I noticed water likes to get into those side peice screw holes cause mine are rusted out. I'll probably use some double sides tape to hold them on til I can get to fixing rust and body work. I only drive it on sunny days cause I haven't put the weather stripping in yet.
You are discouraging me from thinking about rebuilding muscle cars
WooHoo!
And how does the marker lights front and rear work with the led conversion ??
Nice job...seems like a lot of work for a coupe?
It's a lot for any car. Haha
I’m not the best on transmissions, but have you tried putting a T in the vacuum hose and running the line to a gauge you cn read while your driving? Maybe to low vacuum pressure might cause this. What do you think?
I did put a gauge on it. Has good vacuum, so I know that's not it
Just thought have you thought about upgrading to a either an AOD or converting to manual?
Maybe in the future I'd go an AOD, but not any time soon
Did you happen to check your kick down adjustment and make sure that it's not sticking? I think they're supposed to be a spring on the kickdown to hold it up
I took the kickdown completely off, so it shouldn't be interfering with anything
I have to do this myself. Great video! I have a 1969 Mustang 2DHT with an inline 6 (4.1L). I’m struggling to find a rear window seal that fits my car. I checked on Rock Auto, but they only have one for the fastback, it seems. Finding parts is not easy for someone living in Norway, unfortunately.
Yup that is your boat and it is Sweet!
No frame jig???? 😮
Nope. Everything tuned out dead straight too!
Hi, GREAT job with your Mustang, man!! Without any question I Am sure that makes you really happy! I have whatched all the videos from your restauration. I Am from Brazil, sao paulo, and I have a same model. Ride this car is so satisfy and the face to others people when look the Mustang on the street its look like "Wow, that car!" Here the people says "Que louco...".🐎
That's fantastic. It is a fun car to drive, and everybody really seems to enjoy it!
great video thanks
Your welding outside you must be using Flux-core? or is that Mig?
It's Mig. I just turn the gas flow up and try to block the wind
I wonder if you can get a speedo gear with a ratio that’ll show your speed in kph on your mph speedo
I thought about that but I don't think it will work.
Hey there, I missed yer last one, on the transmission issues, continued... Though I've got a set of 2017 Mustang GT seats, in black cloth, I'll be fabbing up my own custom solution, for soon. Those Pro car's version's look just right 👍 in there, I've got to give you that . Please post on how you liked the "feel" of it.. After some driving.... God bless...
The seats are great so far, I've been on a couple 3 hours trips and I have zero complaints.
Wow, I love the color you pick.
I would check the case vent on the transmission, if it is not venting correctly it can build pressure inside the trans as it gets wormed up.
Do not shift into park going 40, it is not fine the people saying that are ignorant of what will or can happen. And that will not help the governor.
Yeah, I wouldn't dream of it. It just sounds wrong all around.
Yes there is supposed to be a spring at the top of the kick down rod on the throttle linkage. Your trans is just kick down not TV so it does not need the rod to operate.
My question is if you changed the bushing in the output housing, the one the yoke of driveshaft rides in, that is almost always what makes the trans seal leak (excessive play).
Since the seal change and sealing around the seal I haven't had a single drip
Good score on the seats! Looking forward to see how well they fit.
How about using spring clamps??
How many miles between oil changes are you going to run?
I'll probably do the usual 5000km
@@ProjectBarn I have always done 3k for all my vehicles
door to fender gaps seem too wide ?
yeah I'm not a pro
They are only about a 1/16 of an inch off from factory new as sold, the gaps on the front and back were wide on that era. People making show cars tighten them when they build them before paint.
Break in oil?
I did add an additive, that definitely could be it
@@ProjectBarn its pretty dark for not alot of miles....but ok..
@@davidwright873 I have built 100's of engines and transmissions and the color of the oil kinda bothers me but the jury is still out lol. Depends on how well the block was cleaned prior to assembly. Machine shop never cleans the block good if they are not assembling it.
@@RichardHeadGaming he built it himself....that dude did it all....every damn thing....pretty impressive.!!
How is the sound deadening holding up on the roof?
Holding up really well. Haven't noticed any movement at all. I'd be surprised if it did that stuff I used is really sticky.
Hi. Which 69 model is this? Engine size?
It's a 69 Base model coupe. Engine was originally a 302, now it's a 306.
@@ProjectBarn thank you sir. You did a good job completely rebuilding it. I have never paid attention to this model year but I like it moreso than the 64.5 or 65-66 years. I learned a lot from all your videos.
Ray just a thought, but with the choke not operating correctly couldn’t that cause the engine to run richer? Are you going to add center cap to your wheels?
Why did you put kilometers on it ??? Where the hell are you?
Ontario, Canada
looking good
Hanta virus is a respiratory infection, so the symptoms would be similar to flu with a lot of lung congestion and coughing. Wear a proper respirator with HEPA filters.
Thank you for allowing and sharing the entire build the car looks and sounds amazing awsome job love the way you just over came all the challenges hope you start another project sometime until then enjoy the masterpiece you've created
How did you come by this project ?
Video #1 will answer your question
My 1st car my Dad bought me for my 16th birthday in 1983 was a 67 Mustang... Father son build..needed a motor and floor boards... My Dad just sandwich sheet metal bottom and top with some nuts and bolts sealed with roofing tar...not pretty at all but it worked 😎
Awsome job..love it
Sorry 😔 to have seen you had a some issues with the trans build.. It been a long journey, and I've watched in real time, while I've doing my own 65 FB as well. You inspired me, to use templates, to fabricate and weld in, 1/8" plates, to the lower control arm mounting brackets, where you built them from scratch!!!! Loved seeing your triumphant maiden voyage!!!! I'm in the states, but couldn't help start humming, "O Canada, land that I love" while watching.. Let's see some of your "test and tuning" work, to get that thing dialed in, for that demon carb, and let's see that A/C operation shakedown.. God bless ..
Congratulations this has been one of favorite Mustang Builds. You have done a wonderful job on her bringing her back to life.
Great job!👍 Nothing beats the feeling of finally driving a long term big project like that. What's next? 😁
