WHERE IS YOUR SHOVEL?
Outstanding
Crazy we brought that out of Africa, at the beginning of things so long ago. It really should be counted as sacred, more people should know about it.
You don’t know how to use it Not approved
Yeah, something like a shoo box size 😅
If you live in a shoe box then yeah, it would be ideal for you.
This is underappreciated. If left in a small closed bedroom in a safe space, you are garuntees a toasty situation. I can imagine this low-cost hack during loadshedding in my country in winter. It's cute and efficient. Life saving stuff old timer. Thank you
@@RomaineGangaram no, bin there done that and numbers don’t match up. It is impossible
good shelf life if you get them fresh and smart to have on hand just in case
nice, what sort of shelf life do they have when bought new?
There’s only a five year shelf life on these, production date on these is July 2020 expires July 2025. Not the best for long term storage.
@@cujomojo that's still not too bad, most makeshift 'survival foods' only have 1-2 years.
Lifeboat rations came up in a conversation the other day, said I would do a video on some. I mentioned these Millennium bars and had them handy for a quick video, I’ll have to go and dig some lifeboat rations up to do the video on them, good opportunity to check my caches.
@@cujomojo I look forward to that mate
Spettacolare e geniale, anche oggi ho imparato qualcosa!🙏👍👋
Nice one brother, dog stole your dogging stick, too, lol .God bless you and your family, and happy camping 🏕 😀 😊 😄 🙏. Lee
The dog is like my dog , mad as a brush
Its a bit of a turbo torch. Some sort of compression going on in the vents , very clever
Slick .
I like testing 900ml .. it's a strange amount I know . 5 mins is quiet impressive.
@@lifesahobby That’s a cracking little stove, Mick put me on to it.
The software is incredible . Thank you for sharing these insights . ..
@@lifesahobby For years I put off selling these cards, putting a value on them was never easy. I had to shop around several websites to get a fair valuation. Obviously some are put away for the kids, but there’s over ten thousand duplicates in those two boxes. Might as well get rid of them, they are just taking up space that a new tent would fit nicely in.
Great boat, spacious and so tidy - puts my humble abode to shame on both counts. FYI Had a look myself and asked owner about the pouch, had already sold it unfortunately. If another one surfaces he'll let ne know.
Got me a couple of TSB ferro rods coming. Then i might get me a Dragons Breath rod from Aussie and one of Amazon. I saw Paul Kirtley with the a dragons breath and a Strike fire rod. He says they are hard rods. The strike fire i have to get off amazon UK. So i might get a forest Fundamentals one aswell to round things off. Then do a updated comparison video. Proberly x mas time. The TSB does a 6" x 1/2" so i got one and the smaller type with handle. That should make for the most comprehensive comparison ferro rod video on you tube.🤣🤣🤣👍💥💥💥💥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This works way better with char cloth.
What a good tip, thanks.
Do you have a link?

I like that stove🔥😁
@@agesadventures Thanks, I saw Mick at Hampshire Outdoors show one off. Smaller and lighter than the Firebox Nano, thought it would make an ideal backup to stick in a pocket somewhere.
@@cujomojo it's quite handy looking and always nice to have something you can clip in a pocket.
Brilliant
Great Video Cujomojo! Hexi all the way! It slayed the Dragon 🗡🗡🗡🗡🐲🐲🐲🐲🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😝👊💯💯💯💯👏👏👏 i was gonna look at getting some coglans fuel tabs today just by chance. Also loses stability faster since the core is already hollow
It does stay pretty stable. I would normally dig the hole about three inches, so it sits in the ground. The weight of the log is in the centre, as that burns away there is very little weight of wood left for it to fall outward.
@@cujomojo Don't the tips start to bend in though? That's the first part that always goes for me, it burns away at teh top faster than the bottom so the top starts to cave in while the bottom remains stable/
That's a nice idea. The only issue I can see is that, one of the reasons for the swedish torch is that if you collect your wood in the wild the outside of the log is often damp where as the timber in the middle is usually bone dry, especially when using standing dead wood... Still great idea with the right bit of wood....
@@anthonyvincent6016 The Swedish Torch was designed to burn even freshly cut green timber, still with a high moisture content. The way it burns up the grain dries it out pretty quickly. The log I used was cut from a tree that had been laying for some time, other than splitting it the only other prep needed was to strip the bark from it.
Unfortunately the stick got stolen :D
She’s making kindling for my next fire. 🤣
Great idea👍🏻
Hi Jamie
@lifesahobby eyup owen hows life👍
I like that mate, this is a great concept and I have used the Swedish torch several times.
Another quick one, I would usually dig the hole a little deeper. I watched a video from Sigma 3 survival school, he said everyone was doing the Swedish torch wrong. We all have our own methods that work best for us. Easier to just show my method than try to explain it.
Put some leather gloves on bro! 😂😂😂👊🙃🤙
@@cujomojolooks effective and simple to me.😝👊🔥🔥🔥♨️♨️♨️💯💯💯 love it!
Yep that was smart
Shes a beauty 👍🏻
used hexi for years now i cant be trusted with it 😅 wonder what they will ban next . great test 👍
Did you try dragging it on a file
Good idea. I tried holding it with the Leatherman pliers, now you mention it there is a file on the Leatherman. If it failed at least it would give me some fine Ferro powder to catch the spark a bit quicker.
@@cujomojo I’m going try that. Probably use the reverse farro rod technique. Hold the rod down in the tinder drag a file
Great demo brother😊
Thanks, got a boil time comparison coming soon.
Crazy that things are so regulated
True, and I think it’s only going to get worse over here. I really wish I had made the jump to your side of the pond when I had the chance. Loved the ringing of the bell video by the way, no better sound than lead on steel. Hope you had some fun on the 4th, it just doesn’t seem right to me to wish Americans a happy 4th of July. Sounds a bit patronising coming from us, kind of like saying thanks for the bloody nose, lol.
@@cujomojo the fourth is all about freedom bud. To bad many people have forgotten that over here
@@HarshmanHills It’s the same here, far to many forget the sacrifices our forefathers made for us to enjoy those freedoms. We are having serious flag issues, I can be arrested and prosecuted for flying my own flag, when the supposed freedom we have will allow others to fly the flag of foreign nations over my country.
That's a steep price for a licence to purchase Hexamine there! Yikes😱 I've got some in my closet right now😁 Good demo of to compare the two!
I wouldn’t have bothered with the license just for the Hexamine, but there is a few other substances on the list that I use regularly. I would have just given up using Hexi altogether, I can count on one hand the places I can buy it from. It’s a shame because Hexamine is such a fantastic fuel, and stores indefinitely.
@@cujomojo I'm glad it stores indefinitely! I have not used it since I bought it about 6 years ago or so. I have an Esbit stove that goes in my hunting pack which is there for emergencies. I've never tested the stove out. I probably should sometime.

interesting testing idea
definitely try sparkler dust mate, it's very effective in this sort of thing, I've found the T-rex tape really steps up the game of these as it burns so well.
