when you gunned the Explorer, were you in Sport mode? If not, you were definitely missing out.
wait, dude ... "there is no spare tire in this vehicle" ... YES, THERE IS ... I just bought a 2024 ST and it has a spare ... you have to lift that storage compartment out to get to it.
Corolla
2025 civic owner here, Purchased my car on august 21st 2024. As of today (12-26-24) it has had the following issues. Worm gear, passenger tail light quit working, trunk makes a noise when closing, door locks also make a noise when locking and unlocking, car wouldn’t start at mc Donald’s one time, every civic currently has the high pressure fuel pump, and another steering recall. My car is sitting at 2500ish miles and had that many issues already. I’ve owned nothing but Honda vehicle my entire life. I would NEVER get another new Honda
which one you pick chad? since you personally driven it..
santa fe compete with honda passport nissan murano pilot compete with hyundai palisade kia tellride
The Odyssey is way louder while driving. Sounds like the window is open compared to the Sienna.
And I think it’s a good idea that Toyota has the gas release inside. Someone could easily contaminate your gas if that gas cap door is always accessible to outsiders. 😉
The Pilot’s inside sound is around 58 decibels. Check CarConnection to get the accurate decibel number.
I have looked at both and going with the CRV. The rear shape is off on the RAV4. The CRV looks much more high end. My niece bought the CRV last year and loves it. She says she gets compliments all the time and people can’t believe it is a Honda.
Honda Pilot all the way. Why? because i am still driving a 2010 Honda Pilot EX-L and it si still driving as good as when i bought it in 2010. Value, space and practicality, Honda Pilot all the way. I would like to get the new Pilot but my 2010 Honda Pilot drives so damn good and it also cost me zero dollars per month since it has been paid since . Engine may be a little boring but i never had a problem with it. Honda Pilot is a solid mid size SUV.
I prefer the Honda styling , MPG's & overall standard features
Rattle rattle rattle
instructor 101: get rid of whatever is making the banging noise. I quit watching.
F150 all the way, Ram was a fricken disappointment
I am surprised the sound levels were similar in the interior. One of the advantages of the Platinum Sienna you reviewed is acoustic glass that is supposed to make it quieter versus lower trim siennas - so how loud are the SE/XLE/XSE lower trim levels? thanks for the review!
Great comparison review. I took ownership of a 2025 Santa Fe Calligraphy (Serenity White metallic with Gray interior) 2 days ago. I’m loving the vehicle so far - it gets a lot of looks too! Just a quick note: only the left pad is a wireless charging pad on the Limited model you reviewed. Only the top Calligraphy model comes with the dual wireless charging pads.
My only concern is the reliability.
The wheels on the rav 4 in your video look identical to my 2025 crv hybrid wheels. (With exception to the Toyota emblem in the middle)
It's my first time owning a RAV4 hybrid and "I love it" this is my 2nd RAV4 and I would not trade it to anything else. I'm glad I made the right choice owning a RAV4 hybrid XSE
I'm glad I made the right choice buying the crv hybrid. It's awesome!
Rav 4 seat goes back further for leg room. In my experience
I like both and was hoping to hear bad news for one of them, to choose the other one. 😂😂 Nope, I'm still undecided. I'm going to have to test drive both. I owed a 2004 Rav4 that just got flooded. 😢 Man, I loved my little "Lucy". I want a new one, but yes, totally agree with you about Rav4 feel a little rugged while driving. Let's see if the Honda impresses me. Wish me luck!
u cant compare this 2 cars...civic is another class. interior and performance
I notice you drive wth the seat shoulder belt under your arm...why is that? is that a new safety method?
I was forced to do that while videoing because the seat belt was causing interference with my Bluetooth microphone. The seatbelt kept rubbing on it and causing issues. I don’t normally drive like that. 😀. You are the second one to point that out.
I wanna see a comparison between the Jeep GC: Summit Reserve and a topped out Explorer. You’ll really see the Jeep shine with that one.
THE ST DOES HAVE A SPARE TIRE!!
he didn't do the research enough to find it ... that is the trouble with people these days, and they make untruthful statements without finding out first.
The Accord is an amazing daily driver. What a great ride and peaceful interior. Love mine.
If you enjoy driving at all get the Honda. The Toyota RAV4?is one of the least refined worst driving cars I have ever driven. The Mazda CX5 is better than these two cars to be honest. The seats suck in all three so don’t expect luxury.
LOVE my cx-5, just wish it was available in hybrid
Tesla owners may (or may not) be surprised to know that their range takes a big hit if they frequently take advantage of quick starts and rapid changes. I'm not sure how many pay as much attention to that, as they would to mpg in the CR-V. I point it out because the CR-V (more so than the RAV4) really is an EV. Not a Battery EV like the Tesla, but a Battery+Generator EV. Except when cruising on the highway, it is propelled exclusively by an electric motor which is powered by the generator and the battery. My point is that the EV operation means it takes the same hit for quick starts. Honda's response to that, since it is an economy-minded vehicle, is to actually build a lag into quick starts. You can get rid of them by changing to SPORT mode, but that can drop mpg. I'm not saying it will become like a sports car, but you will get better acceleration if you choose it. You just need to be attentive to "squeeze" the gas pedal, instead of stomping on it, when you don't need EV-like response. In my Accord Hybrid - 2018, so I can't configure these drive modes - I will switch temporarily to SPORT if I anticipate the need. Like on the ramp to a busy freeway.
No spare tire, old infotainment and non-locking gas door is a fail for the CRV for me.
You forgot to mention that the rear seats in the CRV recline and the back door opens 90 degrees for better access to the back seat.
The rear seat recline is real nice
I drove a Rav4 and then popped straight into a CRV 10 min later. There was no comparison in overall feel, fit and finish. The CRV made the Rav4 seem cheap even though they are almost exactly the same price in Canada. I am not sure why so many see the lack of spare a deal breaker. In 50 years of driving I have had exactly one flat and that one could have been handled with a flat fixer kit. Maybe the roads in Canada are better than in the US.
Made the dealer buy a full size 18 inch spare kit from Amazon (has a cover and jack that fits inside the wheel and just set it in the cargo area, it is narrower than a regular tire so does not take up much space.
Where did you get your CR-V, in my area, CRV hybrid start from CAD$49000 and RAV 4 hybrid start from CAD$ 35000
I would definitely choose Sienna. 36 mpg vs 22 mpg is no brainer.
14,000 dollar difference. LOL, And in cold climates u not getting 36 mpg. HONDA drives better
@@travisstrickland7270 Not so fast. Toyota XSE fully load with XSE Premium package is $52.5K This package probably will bring Sienna to the Elite level which is $51K. So the price difference is only is only $1.5k but I think you still get more like 1500w inverter. In the winter you are not going to get 22mpg from Odyssey either. V6 is a V6 regardless even if you drive on freeway. It is a gas guzzler. Honda does not drive better either. BTW, I drove my RAV4 Prime at Yellowstone during the snow and cold. I did not get any reduction in mpg.
@@travisstrickland7270 bullshit. Sienna starts at $39k while Odyssey starts at almost $42k
Locking gas door is on every Toyota I have ever seen or drove. So I don't think Toyota will ever change it.
I looked at both, but ended up buying the Accord. I don't care about Leather and the smaller screen doesn't bother me. The Civic are definitely more in demand. I got a slightly used 2024 Accord with 7K miles for over $6K off MSRP and $3K less than the equivalent Civic. The one thing I admit not being a fan of are seat comfort for both cars. I rented a Nissan Altima earlier and they had some amazing seats.
Thanks for the comment. You could enjoy the nice seats in the Altima…but only when it’s not in the shop every other week. 😀😀
Toyota Australia is cheating customers on map upgrades. I bought my RAV4 Cruiser Hybrid in 2021. My average annual mileage is around 10,000 km. Given the low mileage there is no great rush on my part to do the annual service which I normally do within a month from each anniversary date. During the service I have the free map upgrade (customers are entitled for 3 map upgrades free). However on my 3rd anniversary service, Toyota refused to give me the 3rd free map upgrade. After a couple of lengthy discussions with Toyota Customer Service I was told that I am not entitled for the 3rd free map upgrade as I have gone pass the 3rd anniversary date by a few weeks. This is gross cheating. Shame on Toyota Australia.
I would have been livid. A few weeks? Ugh
The Santa Fe has the style and flash, but the Pilot is the better made vehicle and NOBODY makes better engines than Honda. Twenty years from now, the Pilot will still be on the road. I doubt the same will be said for the Santa Fe.
You didn't cover one of the most important features of the odyssey... The Magic Slide second row! This is why ppl with kids get this van. You really got a lot wrong with this review. First of all don't compare a 3 yr old top of the line to a brand new basic model. Then make sure you get your facts right before you review. This was a pretty awful excuse of a review. Using floaty for an adjective to describe how the sienna drives? We love our odyssey but you didn't do it justice.
I like the review but no seat belt on. 🥴
I was wearing a seat belt while driving. 100% of the time. I may have moved the belt a little lower on my shoulder as sometimes the seat belt rubs against the microphone and causes noise.
Great review, just wish you could get same trim levels to review.
The honda cr v feels and ride like a mercedes toyota dosen’t have that feel.
I've test driven both, but my final decision goes to the RAV4, as the CR-V has only the GDI engine & the RAV4 has the GDI AND Port Injection engine. The difference IS that the RAV4 port injection cleans the engine valves & the CR-4 does not. It will be more prone to carbon build-up which is NOT covered by the warranty. The other major factor is the availability of the spare & extra storage space under the rear cargo area of the RAV4. Although the CR-V is more refined & elegant, & has the electric passenger seats, the RAV4 is way more practical & dependable.
Absolutely right on. And if you really want to drill into the minute details, watch the Car Care Nut's comparison of the 2 cars. But maybe you did. It was very enlightening for me.
Accord Win!!!
Aug 2024. Still no Sienna's on dealer lots in my area. The few dealers that do have them, are asking for an additional $5k-15k market adjustment. Lol!😂 I purchased a Odyssey.
Honda is always the top notch. More expensive but if you dirve them both you just see the difference
Kia Carnival Win!
Love my new Sienna!
you must absolutely add following options to the odyssey: awd. pano-roof. 360-cam. timing chain. (no timing belt get rid of it) slow-traffic follow feature. built-in vacuum cleaner must be returned to the car. light-off-roading pack option. (with high clearance and some other off-roading features) also needed a additional extra front and other lights females have trouble to see at night (in comparison to men this is biology thing) and vans are driven by many females.
Instead of having so many cup ho,ders and empty bulky srorage in between the two front seat , Sienna should have a fridge there !
Sienna looks bulky , both back and front ! The rear lights looks ugly !
12:56 you can change the background to all black under settings. It’s easier to see with a dark background.
