While there is synth in this music (quite a bit of it), some of the sounds you've heard isn't actually synth. There's electric guitar during the chorus (though it's turned down), that high-low, high-low, low-high, low-high is a violin, bass guitar is used through much of the song itself, and that epic as fuck solo is obviously guitar as well. This song is a masterpiece of blended genres, synthetic tones, and real tones.

The reason alot of the robots go down in one hit is because they're shot in the head or in the chest It make sense if whatever is powering the robot and giving it the ability to "think"/move is located in the head and in the chest, plus disconecting some internal wiring could just get the robot to shut down (Especialy when cut down or having their neck crushed) Hope that helps make the video more believable to ya :D
