No Sound. Just a quick walk around video of a HX GTS I did the body and paint on. This was a great car to start with so there is not much to see in the way of metalwork.

This 67GT500 replica was built by myself in 1 year. I did almost everything except the engine build and wireing. The floor is as good as the rest of the car. 1:28 underside of car in detail.

Looking great so far sir
You sir are an artist! Fantastic work! And, the Pantera is my favourite car. Thanks for sharing!
Ok
Interesting.
Can't wait to see it finished. I'm sure you can't either. Good luck with her!
Great information. Thanks!
Great work
Wow Darrren, a monumental effort with old school fab techniques for the restoration, very well done. Yes you a right too many GT's.
Magic job, we subscribed👊 hit the 🔔 Awesome your leaving it as a GTR 😊 Cheers 🍻🍻🍻KC Cradle Mountain Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺
I know where there's a pink one rotting sway. Pink Torana s coupe
if that is the original paint. , then it might be worth snapping up
@@NEVILLEBUTLER-b3c are you tripping. If it had been painted 17 times in house paint would not make a single cent difference. It's a 2door and as far I know you can't find them unless you very Lucky or very cashed up. Yes it's original pink. But the owner won't sell it for love or money. It's been stored outside rusting away next to a mass of other classics. Quite sad actually someone needs to pluck it out of there. It's pretty bad the rust door have dropped . If no one saves her in the next couple years she be too far gone. I'm a restorer aswell as a sheet metal worker. I can fix it but needs to be done now
Had one back in the 90s-00s, genuine GTR confirmed with GMH. 253ci, mild cam, 30thou bore, braided hoses, battery in the boot, 4 point roll cage, straight as, no filler, really schmick nick but sold it for $4k... one of my biggest regrets
factory 253 V8 GTR ? get ya hand off it..
@@sykcnt8012 never said factory ya clown, GMH verified GTR VIN, the previous owner put the 253 in it pre engineering.
As an ex Holden worker don't forget about what Harry Firth did in building 50 that most ended up in sth Africa because of BS rule changes all I'm Gona say
@@sykcnt8012I never said it was factory V8 ya knob
Great looking work, it will be lovely to get her back on the road
Best resto vid I've come across Wish I saw your work when I restored my 67 Coupe You are a true tradesman unlike the cowboys I gave my $$ too😢
Awesome mate keep em alive🎉
Back in the mid eighties, I got told about an old Falcon for sale, out the back of a local pub. Turns out it was an XY sedan, factory 250 six, top loader 4 speed, drum brakes all round. White with a saddle interior, bucket seats, console etc. I paid $200 for it and drove her round unregistered for about six months, thought I was Allan Moffatt. I sold the uncracked dash pad and one guard, to a guy that had a GT. Sold the Top loader and bell housing to another guy. Finally my old man asked me to get rid of it, so I took it to the tip, rolling a very straight, virtually rust free, XY Falcon, missing a couple of bits, off the trailer. I mean, who wants a factory 4 speed six cylinder XY Falcon with 4 wheel drum brakes, right?🤔
That was amazing, the bill must have been HUGE!
Yes but the owner had it since before they went up in price so it was worth it for him to get it done, I think he also had spare parts from another build to keep the costs down so overall it was worth it.
What a transformation Darren, plenty of work getting it to where it is now - fantastic work mate!
Nice job
Great work mate
Hi iam thinking of doing up a monza green xy falcon 500 factory 6 cylinder column auto, that i have located. But i need to find out if the owner wants to sell it. Ps it's great to see them go back to a original condition, not in to a replica gtho. Great job, cheers mate 👍 👌
You've done well she will be a keeper
🎉I love seeing the base models surviving, these are the ones we burnt our bums in as a kid, not one of the 10,000 GTs. Great work.
Big job. Alot of hours
Im a GM fan but these are an iconic AUSSIE car
Geez mate that is brilliant. Chrysler guy here,on my channel. I’m stoked that you’re keeping this a factory 6 car! As you say there are so so many that get turned into yet another replica GT so leaving this one original is amazing. Kudos to you sir.
I not a fan of falcon s. But yours is very good and well done.
Great job car looks amazing, I'm looking to do the coupe to fastback conversion with the Shelby body kit, what am I looking at as for price just in metal/body work if I get a shop to do the work
The price will vary a lot as some shops do better work then others. If you follow Mustang pages on Facebook there are guys on there who talk about this kind of thing all the time, maybe do a post with your location and someone will recommend a shop. Best to go with a place that has done them before.
For me I'm on a budget of like 70k, I'm thinking it's cheaper to buy a 67 coupe that's already a driver, and just do the conversion, then buy a coupe that's a roller?
Yes, if you can find a great coupe that has all the mechanical done properly then it is quicker and cheaper to do that. @@GiulioFalletta-lf2xc
You pretty much use the car for reference points for all the new panels
Mr Gilroy where could we contact you ?
Through the website Gilroys Special Vehicles. Cheers
For F sake. My man you are a master surgeon. How? Just how do you get everything back to spec? Awe inspiring.
First you brace the body so it doesn't flex out of shape. Then focus on the frame of the car, repair that then sheet metal is third.
Amazing work,
Incredible amount of time and effort to save those cars . Respect .
Mate you have done a impeccable job repairing this classic ! 👍
Matey have I got a project for you 😀 It's a xc falcon ute might be to new for what you do but it would definitely be a challenge from what I've seen of your work it's right down your alley
If you're keen check out my website 'Gilroys Special Vehicles' and we can go from there. Cheers
Awesome job
Fantastic video Darren. Love your work mate, looks incredible.
You're got the passion and the commitment
Magnificent work, unbelievable that you could rebuild this rusted old girl, great skills, you must do more videos of working through these jobs, I would love to watch you and a lot of others would as well I bet.
Fantastic work...but I don't understand how it could be ecconomically viable for the owner to do all of that to a Falcon wagon.
Some people have said that, the reality is most cars will cost more to restore then to just buy already done. The advantage is you know exactly what you're getting and you do it how you want.
Great vid, before and afters, massive job, credit to you, another saved.
Darren as a massive ford man I thank you for saving another classic your a bloody legend champ
👌
+Top workmanship Darren, you sure know what you're doing.
Bloody hell mate. I'm doing a couple of backyard resto's atm. Takes such a long time and a harf-arsed job at that.😆. Choice mate
Alot of blood sweat & tears. 100 out of 10 mate. You could go into buisness in the rust replacement panel area. Can't wait to see it finished. Stripes or no stripes ?
I'm planning on doing more of these big jobs that need major rust repairs and I'm investing in more metal shaping equipment. I can turn these jobs around quicker then most, 4 months for this job which is what people want. This car will have side GT stripes.
THE WEBSITE IS NOW UP AND RUNNING 'Gilroys Special Vehicles' Feel free to check it out.
good o i have a xw fairmont for you
Exceptional work, many hours of work. Love the wheels, I was going to buy the same for my XY. I bought five 15 x 7 Bathurst globes instead, I should have bought the Superlights as well for a spare set.
An ABSOLUTE bloody Credit !..A lot of time..effort and Money has gone into this project..CONGRATULATIONS...
Great job mate you have done an exceptional job on cutting the rust out and fabricating custom panels from left over skins and metal the paint work is also smick.
