First, nice car, you got a hell of a deal. It's not a 71, that's a 1970. The trim you pulled out of the trunk is the horn button for the original steering wheel. You should check the block casting number to verify that is really a 455. Good luck with your build.

It was built in Michigan and shipped to the Arlington, TX plant. When they were done with it, it was sold as a used car out of an Olds dealership in Dallas, TX. I miss that car. Hey I tjimk you have a valve if you don't have any compression pushing your finger off on bsck cylinder that's what it is just pop head off and light very light tap center of vakve down just make sure your not on high side of the cam where cam is pushing valve open make sure it's in low side the placement of motor has noting to do withit not running either you should tap the key or starter button with your finger over the number one cylinder spark hole and when it blows your ringer off your on. Top dead center on compression stroke. At least close !!!! And rhen pop dist cap off and make sure the rotor button is pointing at the spark wire that goes to that number one cylinder then run the rest of the wires to what firieng order is

Nancy's Guy Frank here.... YOU have a GREAT CAR !!! It is the most complete car (with all the parts you say it has) that I have seen in a long time. It is NOT beyond repair. You may not have seen the TH-cam channel... "Cold War Motors"... it has several Kaiser/Frazer's. The "TH-cam site owner", Scott Newstead, is a body and fender man but he has learned to work on mechanical stuff and has "rebuilt" an OLDER FRAZER (his looked like it was headed to the crusher... and was actually) to be his "daily driver" (in the summer any way, as he is in Canada... 3 feet of snow etc ). SO MANY people give up if the floors are rusted or gone. Don't give up! I'm 77 years old and I know YOU have a project on your hands. But it can be done. TRY not to change it too much. Work on and try to complete the Mechanics first. Don't do much to the body, but keep the "gasses" from getting in the car, that is what Scott did. I think it will be very satisfying project. YOU have the knowledge already and I know you can do what Scott Newstead has done. He brought back to life a '49 Kaiser/Frazer on his channel, the mechanics are VERY much the same, only the body is different. Scott's old car does not look great... no paint etc. But it runs well and he drives it all summer. It's worth watching his old Kaiser/Frazer videos, and seeing how he did it. Flat heads, 6 or 8's, are known to be able to "run forever", they are just NOT modern race engines. You could have a great running and fun to drive OLD car. And YOU will be proud to drive it around, no matter what it looks like. We are Pulling for you! I'm old, but I wish I was near by, I would love to pass you the wrenches or hand you what you needed next... Scott has a neighbor, Tom, who does that for him... 😁 These are one of my favorite cars, please video as much as possible, I'm going to love watching !!!

Pull that bracket out of the way and you can remove those bolts with a ratchet from above! Install of the bolts was super easy too this way. I also removed the torque strut arm so i had more room.
