    Hi there! Curious for your take on the GE silicone, 1 vs 2. Naturally I thought I picked up 1 and didn’t realize it was in fact 2 until after my build 🙃 it says 100% silicone and no additives are mentioned. I plan on just letting plants settle for a month or so before adding a Pac-Man. Thanks for your time!

    • @PlaysWithWater
      @PlaysWithWater 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! So unfortunately, GE 2 Silicone is an advanced silicone with additives to fight mold, which are not good chemicals for fish and other aquarium animals. Has to be GE 1 Silicone. Maybe you'll find another use for the GE2, in a bathroom repair or something!

    I'm picking up my 33 long this weekend. I'm adding my 9 phantom Tetras from my 60 to it. And buying 6 more of them to go with the group. And I'm adding my two killifish to the 33 as well as some of my snails that I already . For my center piece fish I will add 1 blue or gold gourami . Cleanup crew will be of the mystery snails and 6 or so pigmy Cory's. That will probably be all I add to the new tank I don't want too many species in this tank . In my 60 I have 22 x-ray tetras 6 neon tetras adding more of them soon , 1 pearl gourami and 10 guppies . Along with the snails And the fish that I'm relocating. I want to move them to give my other fish more room and the killifish will eventually be big enough to eat my guppies and neons . Love your tanks, they look very nice . I wish I could have more but no more room .

    I have a very similar set up to this for a pair of mossy frogs although I don't have any snails. The enclosure has been set up for a couple of months now, frogs seem happy, they've grown much bigger and are eating great. The problem is that some brown algae is growing on some of the gravel and glass of the vivarium. Do you know how I can get rid of this?

    • @PlaysWithWater
      @PlaysWithWater 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The algae is growing from nutrients in the water so maybe try some floating plants. Duck weed seem to do very well for me because it grows rapidly and blocks out most of the light in the water column.

    • @PlaysWithWater

      We have a large number of tanks, and propagate snails of different kinds in our other tanks. Your local fish store will probably be the easiest and cheapest way to acquire snails. Also making a Facebook post in a local fish keeping group, I'm sure you'll find someone with an infestation they don't want. Worst off, you can order snails on amazon! Lol, good luck!
